Absolutely agree! I’ve installed an ecs trans mount last week on my b8.5 and I can feel my seat, pedals and steering wheel vibrate anytime the car is idling.
Appreciate your honest reviews here. There is such a wide range in what people consider street-able so even something as simple as showing how the engine reacts to revving is a great tool for the end user to make a decision on, good visual. The internet is full of people who buy parts and then lose their objectivity about whether the part did or didn't meet their expectations-if they bought it, that makes it the best there is. Thanks for not falling into that category.
I appreciate your support! I always try and take into consideration that there are a lot of people who appreciate their cars from more than just the performance aspect of them like I do. So I make sure to include all of those bits of information in my videos as well. Thanks for watching
Thanks Adam, as a tech guy I know that going to happens. With that said, Im building my A5 coupe (2nd gen E888) for endurance so going to the track to spend time to set up the car. Sweet, the b8 sounds awesome. I’m getting real close to my first Audi purchase just around the corner :). I just have to replace the head gasket on my mustang over the weekend a, then trade it in! Getting stoked
Make sure you keep an eye on ALL your fasteners, especially suspension & the mounts themselves. They WILL vibrate loose. I'd check things over weekly on a daily driven car. Blue lock tite, id even look into nordlock washers.
Nice, honest review. I was considering these bc I had BFI stage 1 mounts on my mk7 GTI and didn't experience any added vibrations. I think I'll be skipping these on my B8.5 S4.
Great review! I have a chipped and injector upgraded VW Jetta TDI the added torque has wreaked havoc on the OEM mounts so I just ordered the stage 1. I have read in the TDI forums that some guys ( especially with automatics) increase the Idle RPM by +200. That seems to help. But I have a 5- speed and don't commute in traffic, so that shouldn't be as big of an issue.
SH$T!!! I forgot to mention that in the video. "P1577 Right Engine Mount Solenoid Valve (N145) & P1573 Left Engine Mount Solenoid Valve (N144)" were the codes that popped up. No CEL though. We are simply going to throw resistors in there to get rid of the codes.
@@VancityAudi Haha figured so. I would be interested to see how you go about doing the resistors, as I know nothing when it comes to that. Haha, I'm gonna have to disagree with you 200% on this one. Do you have any idea how many daily driven B8 S4, and RS3's upgrade their engine mounts? A metric f*ck ton, lol. Just because you upgrade engine mounts doesn't mean you can't daily the car comfortably anymore. Lots of RS3 owners that daily their rides use Stage 1 engine mounts from BFI. It helps a little. Jerky take off I found to be more of the transmission insert.
If the transmission mount insert (of any brand) is such a great upgrade at such a cheap price why hasn’t Audi made it OEM ?
You could ask that very same question about many of the after market upgrades found for different Audi chassis'
Would they have more nvh in a 4 pot ? I think a slight bit more no ?
There are different designs for different models and different chassis'. It's impossible for me to just say that without having driven the car.
LOL I have ecs tuning performance motor mounts on my A6 3.0T when I first installed them felt like da car was gonna rattle apart
Could you show the NVH inside the car?
Little too late for that now, haha. You'd for sure see water in a water bottle ripple away when sitting in the cup holder at idle.
Have you tried raising your idle? That sometimes helps with nvh
You can't raise the idle with Integrated Engineering software
It might be different on the B8 chassis than on the MqB but it’s through VCDS.
Go to engine - adaptations (10) - idle rpm corrections. If that’s there you can up it by 50 rpms max.
