I could be wring, but I don't believe so, I watched a few vids on this unit and it appears this is designed to run forward, unlike the mantis. Which is a selling point for me. See this vid: ruclips.net/video/hsrEltMVJpA/видео.html
@@GerryStilton The machine here is walking not digging. It's very very very simple. You might get the thatch to start coming up like this if you ran over it ten or twenty times. You have to make the machine work not walk.
@@ronhughley6510 I think you are wrong here, just look up the manual m.stihlusa.com/WebContent/CMSFileLibrary/instructionmanuals/STIHL-MF-MM-Owners-Instruction-Manual.pdf page number 5 and 9, sorry to burst your bubble mr landscaper
I came across your vid and I want say thank you for taking the time to share it. I have been looking for a home owner dethatcher that does not have a cord. I found the Bluebird quite expensive $1600 and the Mantis to light and flimpsy. But I found this to have a good balance and it also has a aerator attachment that can be purchased, as your other vid showed, that's icing on the cake! As soon as this china virus is out of the way, I will go and purchase a new unit with the dethatcher and aerator attachments. Thanks again.
I don't walk as fast as you do but hold it back a little, but I was surprised to see your wheels are removed. I just put mine in the top position and they stay completely out of the way. BTW, does the MaidOfStihl have the edger attachment? Its still in the box so I was looking for a video on that one.
Any chance we could get an install tutorial? I just picked up this set up and the rubber projectile flap that drags on the ground doesn’t want to install in a way that makes sense.
Hi, would you recommend the MM55 with the dethatcher attachment over the LB540 scarifier? I have a lot of thatch and a fair bit of moss too. Can't decide on which to buy. Thanks!
John Bedford you should also look into a Mantis. It also has many attachments that will fit your needs. If you still interestedly STIHL you should look at the Kombi system which would allow even more attachment and this attachment can be adapted to it as well. You would end up getting more bang for your buck in my opinion since you can use the kombi system as a hedge trimmer, pruner and edger as well.
+Todd Travis I was working fine while I was using it. This video may not show it, but plenty of thatch was being removed. I probably could have shown that at the end.
+Todd Travis Todd is right. Rather than running the machine and letting it self propel, if you actually pull the machine backwards like a rake, it pulls up an incredible amount of thatch.
The tool may be supposed to operate while walking forward with it, however if you watch any videos of a power broom or tiller attachment for yard boss, the tool usually spins backwards, while this is spinning forward. I would say if you are happy with it its all good, but I'm thinking the transmission is on the yard boss backwards making the tool spin forward. its reversible. Spinning backwards while walking forward it would pull a huge amount of thatch, but it would also be a little bit harder to push, since it wouldn't be trying to run away
MaidOfStihl has a fantastic versatile kit to make hard gardening jobs easy but if you don't use it wright it won't do the job at hand, you are walking way too fast and for this attachment you can use the wheels with it and rotate the drive shaft so it rotates in the other direction. Now you demonstrate something making yourself look silly.
Ur not using it right. either need to walk alot slower. or actually walk backwards with it. works way better. way more effective
yes, she needs to walk backwards with it to be effective.

No I'm not wrong. I'm a landscaper. I know how to use. Need to go backwards or hold it back an walk slow for it to be effective

Wasted time...she should held that machine back..she would have gotten so much more thatch up.
Interesante madurita que va muy rápido,le faltan las ruedas y creo que lleva el accesorio al revés, por lo demás bastante buena

Put the wheels back on, reverse the gear box and you will get alot better results

lookd to me like you are not using that properly?
a word of caution dont use power brush on tarmac to remove moss as the fine top surface will get ripped out
May need to hold the machine back to let it work.

Thanks for the comment. I plan on using the attachment again and will take your advise.

what is the right order to use that and the areator attachemet? thanks
have to hang on to hold back for moss to get ripped out ,if done right moss will fill a trailer
Way too fast...slow down.
She had a hot date at 7pm. She was hustling to get that done. Zoom. Zoom.
You’re not doing anything except for letting the machine take you for a walk
Terrible demonstration, as other's have said, too fast + mow the grass before dethatching.
Your sapose to walk backwards
lol..... thats not how you use that hahah.
Back off the throttle some and SLOW down!!!!
can you do my lawn lol
+Travis Mattingly that's funny! oh were you serious?
+MaidOfStihl Teehee
LMAO!
