If you want a harder difficulty, just don't wear any armor. Still too easy? No accessories then. Not satisfied yet? Only use the first/default weapon throughout the game.
Game is amazing, and I love that they added a NG+ I do wish they added an additional difficulty level because that would've been a really fun way to use all the endgame tools again, but ultimately the game is still one of the best JRPG's released this year.
I'm ecstatic they added NG+ just for the slough to get rare items or the building the best weapons and armor. I generally replay for the story and experience.
NG+ is what we were waiting for. Not having new difficulty mode though makes is quite boring, and just for those who want to complete everything. I want challenge in my ng+, or I won’t be motivated to do it… a shame, really.
The great thing about star ocean is u control ur difficulty sliders through IC and the equipment u use. The game can be as easy or as hard as u want it to be. I just added handicaps on my second play through.
@@zeosummers3984 I don’t think it held back at all I think they did an amazing job, also this game is 20 dollars cheaper than most games coming out now. It added a bucket load of new things too. I loved the game personally and had a great time playing it.
Saga Frontier Remake gave us the choice of what to carry over to the NG. I would probably choose to not carry over levels but my item collection would be cool to continue to build
Is it me or is NG+ harder? I’ve done the 4 fields and going through Minea Cave right now. All monsters hit harder and bosses are way tougher. I play on Galaxy, because I just wanna run through and I’m on lvl 100+. Maybe the monsters are just leveling with us?
I only wish they would have added extra difficulty modes for it.. For example: NG+ offers “4D Mode”, all enemies are scaled to your average party level. Then you unlock NG++ and get, uh, “Eternity Mode” that scales all enemies to 255! Just a pipe dream but I would have loved it 🥹
just curious, can you get the platinum trophy from the first playthrough ? I got this game after completing the divine force and so far I'm having a blast ( haven't played the original one but I love SO games )
Why is it in my new game+ that my skills, weapons and levels did not carry over on my playthrough? It all went down and lots of missing items and skill. Am i missing something?
i played through universe mode first play through, is every fight trivialized then in new game +? kinda wish the last few bosses you could play without the bloody armor hp drain combo but you just cant.
ng+ could keep your characters, so you could recruit the remaining ones and have all the characters in one game! missed opportunity from Square Enix :(
Do new game pluses carry over? For example if I play with Opera then my second play through I do a ng+ and get Ashton when I do a ng+ off of that file will my Opera’s skills carry over?
They should since that's how it worked in Chrono Cross and that game you actually had to be on a 3rd playthrough in order get get MOST of the 45 party members to ALL be playable at once. But I'm not sure if Opera 3 Machinery based moves Healing Star being once of them would carry over.
Sadly no. Characters don't carry over and you can't get opera if you get ashton and vice versa. It's leon or dias, ashton or opera and precis or bowman. Oh and dias is rena story exclusive and leon claude story exclusive. And you can only get ernest if you have opera. Lol you should check a guide so you don't waste your time.
@@Augusleeberty that’s not exactly what I meant. I meant will my character skills carry over after multiple new game pluses. Where if I chose a character the first time such as Celine and then do a new game plus without her, if I do a new game plus off of my second playthrough will her stats and skills remain intact? I’m wondering if the data will remain after multiple playthroughs.
Love her Bloody armor her equip the 5th Floor Cave of Trials weapon it has a HP drain effect so that she won't DIE when you get a 2nd phantom slayer still keep the Bloody armor and equip the 2nd one to Bowman.
Each character you start out with have different characters you can recruit throughout their play through. Also, their perspectives slightly change on certain events. It's pretty cool because it means you can breeze through the game and enjoy the story, without having to grinding all those levels/bp/sp/skills and other side content.
Will you do a New Game Plus playthrough of Star Ocean 2? Thanks for watching!
I might do it to see Claude's story.

Yeah, NG+ needed a Multiverse difficulty mode. They could maybe still do it with a patch.

Replay for the story? I follow the dialogue the first time, always. And I use RUclips for missed cutscenes. Gimme difficulty!
I wish you could chose what to pick. I wouldnt want lvls to carry over. So ill just nake brand new playthrus

@@Getdown8319 i used cheat engine to reset levels and stats and it feels great. Sad to have to use that to enjoy fully :)
@@Getdown8319 lame! you can do that in every game. you're praising a game for holding back.

Thanks for this! I loved being overpowered towards the end of my first playthrough. Maybe I'll try this new game+ mode and get different characters.
It's a great game I look forward to playing it I've completed the original so many times. Great videos by the way !
Hi brother Simon. I hope you have recovered from your cold. Thank you for accurately helping us with your gaming guides❤❤.
Saga Frontier Remake gave us the choice of what to carry over to the NG. I would probably choose to not carry over levels but my item collection would be cool to continue to build
Can i choose another main character in NG+? I'm playing as Rena, but i wish to play as Claude in NG+.
Are the enemies in the new game plus stronger than they were before? Or is everything basically the same
Is it me or is NG+ harder? I’ve done the 4 fields and going through Minea Cave right now. All monsters hit harder and bosses are way tougher. I play on Galaxy, because I just wanna run through and I’m on lvl 100+. Maybe the monsters are just leveling with us?

Can you choose a different protagonist for the new game Plus?
I have a question, if you played through Claude's route, when starting a NG+, can you switch to Rena's route ? Or you are stuck with Claude ?
I wish there was harder difficulty after NG+ and fine tuning some gear like Bloody Armor/Helm
what brings ng+ you can't do/have in your first run? New dungeon? Raid? Best items? thx
Ill try get all their weapons and armor before starting up the new game plus and all the battle skills im having great fun
NG+ has the same main character of the first run or can i choose the other one?
You can choose the other one

I was wondering after you started a new game plus file. Does it show this is your 1st run or 2nd and so forth? Thanks.
In new game + can we switch from being one main character story to the other?
My NG+ is bugged the fun city pass has transferred and prevents me entering on ng+ as I'm asked to buy a ticket for entry
So in ng+ ill start with Claude since still playing my Rena.
But in ng+ with Claude can i recruit the characters i didn't choose with Rena?
yes so basically you can recruit the characters you didnt recruit on your first run
it would be great if they added another story in that particular ng+ if they didn't no thanks
ng+ could keep your characters, so you could recruit the remaining ones and have all the characters in one game! missed opportunity from Square Enix :(
This would have been cool, but can you imagine having opera and Ashton together?
great couple for an good ending. plus the game would be even more broken with them together 🤣@@redstorm8373
What? So maze of tribulations is in this Too? On top of COT?
Can I beat the game with Claude and then New Game plus with Rena to get all characters on 1 save file?
No it is physically impossible to have all the characters in a single playthrough at once.

Not sure about new game plus. But you have to do 2 playthroughs to get all the characters. Speaking of which, how come you only have 5 Fuzz?
I’m going to be doing another playthrough, will get a full roster for that. Might live stream it too.
Ah makes sense. Might want to go with Rena to pick up Dias then, but then you miss out on Leon for Claude's!
Is there multiple new game+ in this game
There NEEDS to be an extra difficulty.
How you get the holy sword and demon sword ?
Their in the optional end game dungeon
Maze of Tribulations, optional bonus dungeon.
How about Shisato enggame ?
Love her Bloody armor her equip the 5th Floor Cave of Trials weapon it has a HP drain effect so that she won't DIE when you get a 2nd phantom slayer still keep the Bloody armor and equip the 2nd one to Bowman.
ummm i think chaos is the highest now.. lol
So what's the point of a new game plus here?
To play more Star Ocean 2.
To play through the game again with all the stuff you got from your last playthrough. Like every other game with a NG+.
to play with a new character and go for a different path
