Stainless steel watch, looks twice as good and with normal usage, just doesn't scratch or scuff like the aluminium, personally I'm on my third stainless steel. It's worth every penny, it still looks new after 2/3 years. You're absolutely wrong in telling people, it's not worth it! Once u get a stainless steel watch, you'll know why u'll never go back to aluminium
Ive ordered yesterday my first Apple Watch 8 stainless steel graphite, it cost half of the price after one year and still much worth of money than Alu Apple Watch 9 which looks cheap.. look forward to the shipment ❤❤
Great review, one thing to add, temp sensor does have a use for guys too, it keeps track of your baseline temp during sleep tracking, additional data is always welcomed, and additionally you can also keep an eye on it if you're feeling unwell, as it will show an elevated temp if you are sick.
I just came back from exchanging my ultra to the SS I tried for a few days getting used to it. But I couldn’t. I even thought about just dealing with the size for the extra battery life and titanium body. But if I’m spending $800 I can’t be making sacrifices. Loving the SS. I end the day with about 40-50% and just charge it in the morning as I’m getting ready. So I don’t notice the smaller battery
Fr. The battery takes like 30 minutes to charge. I charge it before bed while I play games, then when I get up, I put it on charge, shower and it’s full again. Then all day wearing it I have around 50 left more or less. With a lot of battery wasting features turned off of course otherwise it lasts about 12 hours 😂
I bought the silver stainless steel Apple Watch for no reason other than the fact that it looks nice, and for that reason alone it was completely worth it. I’m also one of those people that keeps my watch face turned on at all times because it looks better. Looks are important to some people and it is a watch after all so if you can do it why not.
I chose the same one you got (45mm stainless steel graphite) I’m upgrading from the series 4 aluminum model. I needed a watch that does it all (workout tracking, health features, and that looks stylish). The only feature the ultra had that I wanted was the battery life, but I always charge my Apple Watch every day and with fast charging, I can do that even faster. Plus, with low power mode I’m getting 36hours, which is plenty enough for me. All the other features the ultra has, I honestly would never use them. People only like the ultra design because it’s “new” but with the extra bezels it has, it looks like an older version imo. I can’t see myself wearing it out to formal events. However, I do hope a lot of people get it, then apple will most likely implement the brighter display and extra button onto the normal watches.
OMG I just filmed a video on the Ultra and said the same exact thing you said. It’s nice but stylish and the only thing I significantly liked was the battery life. I also charge every night so it doesn’t make a difference anyways, but having that extra battery is always nice when I’m traveling! Would love the brighter screen and louder speakers on the normal watches too!
My first Apple Watch was Aluminium 3 & upgraded to the SS Gold 4. Now I think I’m going to upgrade to this one. Thanks for the video 👍 My 4 has NO scratches at all ! SS in my opinion is much better.
That’s so cool! I have avoided them so far because I never could justify the price jump. Let’s see how I feel after a while! So far I absolutely love the way it looks though!
I agree that the stainless steel is priced to high, stainless steel is a very inexpensive metal. The only thing it has going for me is the non fruity colors of the aluminum and the sapphire glass which is more important to me. The ultra is nice but a 45mm version with a graphite or black color option would’ve sold me more. Also the charger in the series 8 is a fast charger and the ultra comes with a braided cable.
I’m on the same exact boat! Ultra is amazing but too big and uncomfortable on my wrist. A 45mm option would have been a game changer. Agreed on the aluminum colors too. They’re just so bland and not interesting anymore.
@@owpint3007 I guess maybe that didn’t come off right. I’m saying I prefer space black or graphite or space Grey. I don’t want blue/midnight didn’t like the blue hue it gave and I don’t like silver or the off gold color or red. I like the mistral space grey and graphite or black even for my personal taste like they used to have. Wears better with my bands and attire. No worries though I snagged a series 7 45mm stainless steel on a hella sale for 399. Couldn’t be happier. I had a ceramic series 6 and sold it. Maybe next year the ultra will have more color variations and maybe even a flat design change for the series 9.
@@TeethOfDead I did happen to get it during that time. I am very happy with it. The stainless steel graphite is fire, I would love the space black version but unfortunately that’s only offered for the Hermes watches which I think is highway robbery for no reason. Colors should not be locked by something like that.
Going for the Apple Watch 8 Stainless Steel Silver 45mm with the Milanese Loop… Getting it in two days… I hope I made a good choice because it it so expensive… You can get like almost two aluminum apple watches for the stainless steal… But I always wasn’t 100% happy with the aluminum one…
If you feel comfortable with the larger size of the Ultra go with that. I really liked the Ultra, but ended up keeping my Graphite Stainless Steel because the 49mm Ultra was too big for my wrist. I’d say you’re best off going out and trying out both watches before you buy!
Actually i have the 45MM stainless steel silver the 45MM is too big in my wrist, and silver scratches like insane, micro scratches is everywhere because of my Milanese loop.. I’m planning to get graphite 41MM Series 8. What do you think?
I’ve got the ultra at the moment but I find it irritating how it pulls on the inside of my sleeve I’m considering returning for the stainless steel s8 My old series 6 didn’t pull on my tops
I have the same material with the series 7 45mm an it’s my 1st SSG. Felt no need to get the 8 but if the ultra was released when the 7 was I definitely would of went with the ultra. No matter I’m happy with my purchase
Thank you for being very honest within this review. Many people get wrapped up into the glits and glamour and don't acknowledge the true issues. Im an apple fan but man , do they over price their items.
they hypnotize their customers then sell them whatever they want at a peak price, for no real benefit. too bad I'm an apple fan, still but I am also and android fan too.
If you drop it, and it falls flat on the ground (hard surface, concrete, marble floor etc) it breaks instantly. The only thing is that it is scratch resistant, you will have a very shiny display for a long time.. my moms series 6 SS front glass broke instantly.. even my series 6 SS back glass cracked badly in just one drop, while taking it off (was using a case which covers the front and sides.. my very bad luck)..
I got my first Apple Watch coming in tomorrow bought my wife one a few days ago and what the hell I bought me one also but in graphite ss I looked at that big ass ultra one no way in hell I’m wearing that giant brick on my wrist.
I just got the 8 midnight and looks and feels exactly like the 6 so I am returning it. gonna wait another couple of years for apple to innovate and add features which the competition has already, such as body composition and blood pressure sensor. in the meantime I use on the side a samsung galaxy watch.
Since Apple Watch is released every year with more functionality, I don’t see the point to buy stainless steel version anymore. The only stainless version I got was Apple Watch 2, I do miss the storage box comes with the Apple Watch 2. I bought Ultra cuz it’s more worth for the upgrade. 👍
In Australia there is $170 difference between the Apple Watch Series 8 45 mm Stainless steel vs Apple Watch ultra I’d rather spend the extra money and get the ultra😊
Yup, that’s a big thing most people forget to consider. I wear my Apple Watch with formal clothing all the time. The Ultra just doesn’t match up with formal attire even if you change the band.
99% of people who buy the ultra do not need it! I hike and climb on the regular and use the stainless steel version! That’s with climbing 14er’s in Colorado during the winter!
@@ravipro Can't wear Ultra with dressy attire. That is an absolutely ridiculous statement. What you should say is you choose not to. Now that’s one part I can’t delve into in an initial impression. At first glance the long term durability is not something I can judge. I don’t doubt this is going to be a great watch. Just unsure if it’s worth paying 2x over the aluminum, because those are just as great too.
The only aesthetic difference between the stainless steel and aluminum, the stainless has a heavier feel. The stainless will take a better beating, but why would you? Save your $400.00 and get the aluminum version, then buy yourself a better iPhone (or whatever) with the money you saved. Same thing goes with the cellular version vs wifi only. If you already have a iPhone you really don’t need a cellular watch, the wifi version will sync up to your iPhone and work the same way. There’s another $400.00 I just saved you! 😉
The ultra Apple Watch is the best thing this year. The rest is all the same since series 4. If you want the best and the greatest it’s the Apple Watch ultra hands down
I agree for the most part but one aspect of the 'newness' of the Ultra vs the fact that nothing much has changed since series 4 is this: If you are *new* to Apple watch and series 8 is your first one, that whole 'newness argument' isn't quite as relevant. But I would agree that many long time users might be tired of the same design and would want the Ultra for that reason.
