Run these in the garage, buggies and street cars, absolute blast with a few friends..can setup a course with rope or just about anything.. get a little drifting goin on with a slick garage floor..
But Kyosho? Kyosho is who I’d buy a micro car from. All the rest discontinue the lineup. The mini-z platform has been around a long time and Keeps growing.
Anyone know if these things ever go on sale or do they operate like traxxas? (never a single sale, period) Since they’re pretty indoor oriented I’d just wait for a black Friday sale, given they ever have discounts on them
5:46 kyosho mini z RWD,AWD 4x4 and the dune buggy usually come with the training mode on. If the green light is continuously flashing train mode is on if it’s a solid green continuously training mode is off
I’m the same way bro. I can’t narrate videos with people around me. I feel so awkward 😂. That’s why most of my videos I film are at this bmx track where nobody ever goes.
Definitely more controllable than the micro b, but that doesn’t necessarily translate to fun. I was impressed with how long the aaa batteries lasted, with some lipo rechargeable I was getting bored trying to kill it whereas the micro b died after about 10-15min
I can't decide between this and a losi mini b, both are priced similarly The kyosho seems fun and simple with AAA batteries and only for indoors, while losi is larger and can be used outdoors
I went with the Losi mini b, the AAA batteries really killed the idea of the Kyosho for me. The mini B almost fits the palm of my hand and comes with everything needed to run. I paid 180 out the door so it was a no brained for me
Love my mini z cars on the RCP track, however I only have on road cars. That off road somehow does not make a lot of sense to me unless I can run it outside.
Nice review. I really like the concept of these things (indoor fun, particularly during the upcoming cold season where I don't see myself deep in the woods with my Rustler), and the price is pretty steep, but Kyosho seems like a tried and true company with quality products. I also like how they just use rechargeable AAAs as I have dozens of them (young kid = going through lots of batteries lol) so I don't have to deal with more LiPos and all that. The biggest issue I can see is being able to find these things. I've got a few hobby shops within a 45 minute drive but I'm thinking they're going to sell out of the limited stock they already have by the time my budget opens up a bit. Oh well. Thanks for making this video, though!
Ended up getting one for Christmas! Very cool car. Bit slower than my Mini-B (as expected) but I love this style and it’s really cool - this is the kind of situation where a sick track makes the buggy work. Running it in a circle would get boring fast but an exciting track with elevation changes and all that (it’s not a jumper so I’d probably not do that) will reallly be the most fun.
I love mine. I went for the upgraded brushed motor from Kyosho which made it come alive a bit more, without the crazy expense of the brushless setup. I have a Mini-T 2.0 brushless for that and besides, the Mini-Z is no good indoors if it’s too fast!
Done any upgrades too this ? Should get the mini-z x-speed motor as well for the mini-z awd (that one is compatible with the mini-z buggy) it's a welcome upgrade too the performance of this honestly without going with their brushless kit which easily is another 300. I myself will be saving up too get a Carisma gt24b as i want something similar, besides the wltoys K989 i got in the mail today after asking myself if i should get something rc again close too mini-z size & pulling the trigger throwing 50 usd that way while I'm also saving up for some pc parts, performs about what i expected with some problems of buying cheap rc's which so far is the drivetrain. Besides needing to take it apart too fix the drivetrain (Excess plastic on the wltoys needing some sanding down & trimming with a blade too stop the motor from overheating as much. Along with the battery lasting longer once this is fixed, with some minor work on it so far ive gotten about 25 - 30 minutes out of the 400 mah 2s lipo. Also need too do this with the rear & front diff as they are not exactly working as diffs atm but should be fairly straight forward too do & free in terms of cost other then time.) I like the wltoys k989 so far still though, just wish i could shorten the wheelbase too fit my old mini-z bodies. 2 which are from a clone of a mini-z mr01 from like 2006 - 2009, good luck finding an iwaver 01 these days lol. Which are 90mm a evo 6 or 7 & a dodge viper gt-s r i think and a genuine autoscale subaru impreza that was a re-release of a mini-z mr01 body, which since i bought it for like 27 usd has increased too like 100+ usd used online... Worst case scenario I'll be putting these electrics into my mini-z mr01 (first mini-z that came out.) just too revive that & have the bodies i want too run without buying a mini-z mr03 sports used or new just too do that.
I'm getting a mini-z buggy and was wondering if u could answer a couple questions I have please. First, is the esc and receiver together or separate? Second, if they are separate, would I b able fit a small receiver for a flysky nb4? Thank you for your time
At that size does low center of gravity really matter..thing looks like it ways as much as a smart phone lol Cool but waaaay too small for me personally.
It does for their crawlers which handle pretty bad because of the location of the weight. If the batteries of this were on top of the chassis, it would make a difference.
how does this compare to the Losi micro? which has fast lipo's that can be charged in a short time? My micro is getting old and i cant find anything else that looks like it exceptthis mini z buggy. :) tnx
I enjoyed watching your video bro but I don't think I could ever justify spending that much on a mini z I know there hobby grade but they just have a toy grade look to them but that's not the main reason the main reason is there is so much better rc's out there for that price like scx24's the wpl's or if you want a buggy even a wltoys for that money, I just couldn't justify spending that on something you stick AA battries in haha 😉 but still enjoyed watching it buddy
No worries. It’s not for everyone. I tried the WLTOYS ones and they were great! But…too fast for indoor racing. These are able to be run on this small mini z tracks in a small area. That’s what I got it for. Small area running. The WLTOYS didn’t have the handling this has. They were great outdoors going fast and hitting larger jumps.
I agree they look toy grade under the hood but they race like a hobby grade. the body looks pretty sexy on the real production car mini Zs, like what mark Santa Maria races too
I thought they were expensive too but I got the 4runner.. and after two hours indoor crawling i got online and ordered the Jimny and the jeep its been about 6months and i perfer them over my scx24s ..its just the way they drive and move idk ..
@@Drivingdrew719 isn’t the Jimny more scale than the scx24 too? Granted the scx24 probably has more performance based upgrades that really make it shine
I bought two of these and the steering rod pops off he servo arm constantly. One now has a grinding sound out of the gear box. Not even one battery pack through them yet. They are JUNK! I tried to return them and RCMart will not take them back. Buyer beware! I wasted hundreds of dollars,

Thanks Tony. I was just given one of these yesterday and looking forward to hopefully driving it tomorrow.
The problem is in the UK these are selling for $270! I would like one but at that price, it's just better to get something else.
Just looked up prices thinking it was about the same as Losi Mico's. But, Kyosho...
But Kyosho? Kyosho is who I’d buy a micro car from. All the rest discontinue the lineup. The mini-z platform has been around a long time and Keeps growing.
@RCKicks, that is a big price jump. I wouldn’t have got it if it was more than $200
Anyone know if these things ever go on sale or do they operate like traxxas? (never a single sale, period)
Since they’re pretty indoor oriented I’d just wait for a black Friday sale, given they ever have discounts on them
I was able to grab one here in the states for $150 at my local hobby store.
That sucks man. I wouldn’t have bought one for over $150
5:46 kyosho mini z RWD,AWD 4x4 and the dune buggy usually come with the training mode on. If the green light is continuously flashing train mode is on if it’s a solid green continuously training mode is off
thanks for the review! I am going to buy one for my first racer!
I have one! Performs great. Fully ball raced and added a mod motor. Fast with good rechargeable batts.
Ive been eyeing one of these for a good while. This may be what makes me take the leap
I like that I can build small jumps for it. Jumping is what got me into RC. On-road is ok…but I prefer to have jumps.
it made me take the leap and i'm having a blast with mine. I haven't had an RC car for almost 20 years. Hopefully I don't become too addicted lol.
One of the biggest upgrades you can get is the big bore shocks and good AAA rechargeable batteries
I have some of the lipo aaa rechargeables for my mini-z cars. Just buried in my moving stuff still. Need to look into the shocks! Thanks
I’ve got mine today and mine is the mini z buggy mb-010 series for $300 AUD
That handling tho 🥷
I know! Like he don't care at all.
Hi
The world of RCs... Is getting smaller everyday. And that's big fun for a small ones 🤠😜
🤣😂😆
Getting smaller and bigger. The larger scale ones have growing popularity

Unboxing Kyosho mini z buggy 👍

Price keeps me away from these but they are definitely the nicest of the little bitties for racing around inside!
Tony how so these compare to the team Associated 28 line?
Very good description, bro.
These are actually really good pretty tough I felt the same on the price but totally worth it
Love my mini z cars on the RCP track, however I only have on road cars. That off road somehow does not make a lot of sense to me unless I can run it outside.
Hi
That's how it hits me as well. Some guys make scale crawler tracks in their garage though.
Just add jumps to the track. Then it makes sense. Doesn’t seem like a great leap of logic to see that…

Exactly! I don’t want it too fast. Need to be controlled on my space.
the xspeed v-motor?
@@mrcube7-P Yep. Still no rocket, but fun indoors.
@@jadc well i mean it doesn't need to be a rocket or something will break
wow that's so smooth 😮😮👍👍
I thought it felt really smooth.

Thanks for the video didn't know
I like Kyosho and I think the car is cool but not practical at that price. You can get a Losi mini T that can run outside or inside for less.
I can’t run the mini-t in my house though. I can run this
Are those black jump ramps custom made?
Thanks for sharing
It looks cool! I was waiting for one of those monsters to run it over! LOL!
Oh…I’ve got something like that coming tomorrow. 😉😂
I wish there was a Bezgar 5 championship these lil trucks run all over a mini z js
Awesome video as always. Subscribing for more

Yes. HobbyTown sells RadioShack branded things

189$ is crazy for this. Just my opinion. Looks cool though.

Almost 200 bucks with just plastic shocks?? Kyosho charges way too much for their products!👎
So slow so boring so expensive..
Hi
the steering an speed are good, but $200 for a small rc that takes AAA batteries? They look like a $100 rc.
Way overpriced like all mini z.
