    Hi I think that when the shaft is going out of the cylinder to move a 400 PSI load, and the pressure in the right side compartment is 150 PSI, then the pressure in the left side one should 400+150= 550 PSI or a bit more. Do you agree?

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  5 лет назад +1

      That depends. In the video I say it takes 400 psi with the load and knowing everything else. that would include the 150 psi on internal resistance of the flow going back. I might not have been clear enough on the point. thank for pointing that out.

    • @jclinellc
      @jclinellc Год назад

      Unless you couple the inlet of the pump to the output of the piston it takes more PSI than stated to lift the load and return the fluid.

    I have a problem with retracting rod of the boom cylinder at a new miniexcavator. It's pilot operated spool. I checked everything but the spool itself and the components. When retracting rod into cylinder it is an obstruction as it doesn't let bottom oil from cylinder to go freely back in the return line/tank. After 100 hours , this problem laminated my hidraulic oil and really broke his molecaular structure and turn it brownish dark (Iso VG46) and heats above 80 degrees celsius. Is it posible that somehow the joystick pilot pressure isn't enough to push the spool proper into corect position and the return line is chocked? Maybe the spool spring too stiff? Any help apreciatted. Thanks.

    Stupid question, but why exactly does the pressure drop in the rod end of the cylinder barrel when the directional control valve shifts? Because that part of the system is now exposed to the atmosphere via the tank? I'm not too bright, but I'm trying to learn. Tired of breaking my back doing manual labor in a fiber plant for $13 per hour.

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  3 года назад

      Yes that is correct. When the valve shifts the rod end is exposed to atmosphere and pressure drops.

    9:12. What if you have equal pressure on piston and the rod side. What will happen. I am guessing it will extend because of larger area of piston and hence larger force.
    So I think it is the force which decides the direction of the movement not the pressure. Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Great video appreciate it

    Practical problem in hoisting :
    Cylinders r not hoisting up or down with solenoidal valves. Upon Maunally pressing the solenoid valves, cylinders moving up n down.
    So, there is a problem in valves. To check this, we want to remove solenoidal valve from the circuit.
    Can we remove valve with the cylinders being in up position ???( pump supply in off position)

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  5 лет назад +1

      I would be very careful. If the cylinder is up it could start to drift. Lock it out if you can. Best bet would be to retract the cylinder. With the cylinder up there could be a lot of pressure in there. Safety first.

    i thhink during extension .. pressure on right side will be more than 400 psi due to pressure intensification . Is that right ?

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  5 лет назад

      I do not think so. If there was a flow control metering out the flow on the extension then yes. But there is not so i think 400 would be correct in this example.

    Not an engineer but when you say pressure relieve valve releases all your oil is it accurate? I'd guess you mean the overpressuring oil only not all of the oil right that would defeat the purpose of a pressure set pressure release valve?

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  11 месяцев назад

      All the oil coming from the pump. that is over pressure. All the oil in the system would stay at the pressure the pressure relief is set too

    I have a trailer when the oil is cold it will only lift 3/4 of the way up and stop if you wait until the oil is hot then it will lift all the way up most of the time can you help me with information how to fix it thank you.

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  7 лет назад +2

      I have seen this before. The problem could be when the oil is cold that the viscosity of the oil changes. The slower oil causes extra resistance which increase the needed pressure. One solution would be to increase the pressure setting on your pressure relief ONLY if increasing does not exceed the maximum pressure on any of the hoses, connectors, or parts. If the power unit does not have an adjustable pressure relief, you will need to contact the sales rep to see if you can adjust it by switching out the internal spring. Another method would be to add a heater to the tank if that is possible. Totally depends your trailer's setup. Any other questions let me know.

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  6 лет назад +1

      Which way is it retracting? If it is retracting down, the DCV might be allowing the liquid to pass through it. A pilot operated check valve might fix the problem.

    what psi if we want to stop under load and stop it right there like forklift.

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  7 лет назад

      Great questions. The answer depends on a couple of factors. First what type of center does the directional control valve have. In my video there is no center it is just a 4/2 DCV. That is a bigger question than I can answer here. The second factor is how much load in on the cylinder. If that is known, then take Force/Area of the piston and add roughly 20%. For more information on the different centers I would recommend checking out Fluid Power Systems published by American Technical Publishers.

    Pressure doesn't move pistons. Force does. The pressure on the rod side can be higher than on the cap side and yet the cylinder will still extend became the cap side has a bigger area an a greater for e.
