Hi Vin. Watched it yesterday myself and i totally agree with you. If was a capable gun he would have put one of his vector optics on it and got a grouping which he probably tried before filming so he could just blame the fish bowl scope. Piece of crap, the gun. That’s why he can afford big houses with paddocks and a Spanish Villa. I only watch the channel for the content, as for the person ( not so much )
I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and have a beautiful new year good sir. At least we still have some honest people left out there such as yourself who’ll say it as it is.

As a relative newcomer to the sport I am amazed at the state of the market for non-PCP rifles. I am shocked at the gulf between quality products at one end of the spectrum and cheap (though not in price!) trash at the other. Vinny - rather than reviewing trash, because there is so much of it, why not try to find options which fall in the middle of both extremes?

@@ratherbegliding thanks for the comment buddy. Unfortunately there very few rifles that fall in the mid range price bracket that I could recommend. I think maybe going forward perhaps a better alternative would be to have a fixed budget of say £200 and find good quality second hand guns to review. There are lots of good quality rifles out there that don't cost a fortune if people are prepared to look for them. I have seen FWBs, Diana's, Weihrauchs, and so forth going second hand for under that price, also good British guns from the 80s such as Webley Vulcans, Omegas Eclipses, and BSA Superstars, Mercury Challengers. Just because of age of these rifle they can more than hold their own alongside modern rifles. I have a '83 vintage FWB Sport and a BSA Mercury S that Ive shot fairly often in my videos and these rifle are just as accurate as my modern rifles and I dare say will outlast me. 👍👍👍👍

I just watched that video before I seen yours and was curious what you had to say. Myself I know Crosman makes Remington air rifles which in turn are made in China so I knew what to expect of this one. Not the best trigger for sure, but not quite as bad as the older ones. Completely junk 4 power scope on a budget springer that I expected to be about 100.00 US as I bought a Crosman Fire similar to this last April just to do a review on cheap box store break barrels. Most the time you can get groups at 25 yards close the size of a US quarter with the right pellets. I didn't have much luck getting that in my video with the Fire. I set it aside and haven't messed with it. Then I looked and the price on the T-Rex Scavenger would be about 220.00 US dollars which is crazy. I started to leave a comment that it was way over priced, but just moved on. There's Budget guns that will do better. I bought a Gamo Rocket Gray for just under 100.00 because I really liked the gray camo stock and wanted to see how it would do in that price range. I figured if nothing else from research the stock should fit my 18 year old Gamo Shadow 1000. I did a video on it a few weeks ago and it's really isn't bad for 100.00 gun. Good enough I could recommend it at that price, but no way at 220.00 dollars. I will say I don't know if the T-Rex would do better with the right pellet, but it was a mute point. There's much better choices for what the T-Rex cost even if it would hold a 1 inch group at 25-27 yards. I stopped watching the video after seeing the group because I felt he really didn't take time to find the right pellet or the gun was really horrible.

@@charlesoutdoors2424 hi Charles, my whole issue with the video in question was the fact it was suggested the combo could be used for shooting live quarry. @@vincentenglish8489 Your right. That package isn't suited for humane hunting. I went back and watched the complete video. I only clicked it to begin with to see what Remington branded break barrels Crosman was producing for the UK. Remington branded air guns I've heard are popular over there. It didn't take me long to see this gun was just another 100.00 beginner gun with a toy scope and crap mounts not suited for a springer. That scope is super light and I think all plastic. A comment about buying a used HW99 was made and I was like, not for 100.00. I looked up the UK price and it would be 220.00 US dollars which is crazy! I can get almost the same Crosman branded gun for 100.00 at local box stores in the US. I honestly ignored the pesting part of his spiel about the gun. In theory that's what the gun would be good for if it had the accuracy. I think he found out later it wasn't. He was sent the gun for review and looked like he was struggling with the shooting part to make the gun look good for his sponsor. By the end of the video he no longer mentioned pesting nor did he say he wouldn't recommend it for pesting which he should have. He did change to it being a good can plinker and just to have fun with at least in the end. I guess I'm use to sponsored reviews and read between the lines on what they are saying and not saying. What he should have said is don't waste your money. At that price there's much better choices but being a sponsored video he choose to recommend it for plinking at that price which was bad advice for sure. In the end it is a dishonest review.

I had the same out look as you did on that video, going off the subject I still feel the same about any air gun add ons like scopes, for instance,,I'm also in the middle of a conversation about someone telling another person who was after a scope that his £36 scope he bought off Amazon would match any of the hawke £200 plus scopes and he told me I had no right to knock the scope because I hadn't tried one, which is true I haven't, I guess it was the bit about me saying my lens covers cost more than that or he would have more luck hitting the target if he chucked his gun at it,,,but I also reminded him he can have a top end rifle but without a decent scope that it's all it is, ( a top end rifle)but I guess this 19 year old kid knew more than my 45+ years of experience did,,, I'm also still laughing about another guy who agreed with the lad saying how he this scope on his 308 and it's the dogs bollox,,🤷‍♂️

I haven't watched one of his videos since the Epic One. At the end of the day he is giving you a sales pitch for the rifle, and as the saying goes, buyer beware. He doesn't seem to like shooting springers and changed his hold a few times throughout the video. May have been him, may have been the scope, may have been a bad pellet choice. If you base a buying decision off a RUclips video, then you have to be prepared to get burnt fingers on occasion. Far better to go down your local range and see what others are shooting and what you can borrow to try out if you can.
