      Thanks for the reply glad I could be of help . Some of my other videos show a stabilizer I made for the Harbor Freight jack, really makes the jack stable when working on your bike almost do not need the straps

    Thanks David, this was very helpful to me. I just got a new Vstar1100 and needed to know how to jack her up for my first tyre change 😊

    Thank you for the video!! Unfortunately, I bought the cheaper lift, so I get to fashion my jig to work without the holes. But at least now I know where to place the jack, and that's what I came here looking for. My first attempt put the rear end up in the air because I placed the jack right behind where the engine sticks out. I appreciate the time you put into the video; it helped!!

      Here's a video on the adapter and dimensions it's not as detailed as my other videos but you'll get the point.

    I got the ORK installed on my V STAR 1100 on Wednesday and I plan on doing my own oil changes from now on. I do need a jack so I’ll keep this one in mind.

    Question about the jack placement. Did both pads hit the frame or is one of them hitting the bottom of the motor. My harbor freight jack doesnt seem wide enough to miss hitting the motor

    • @davidriegner2967
      @davidriegner2967  Год назад

      Do you have the same jack?

    • @davidriegner2967
      @davidriegner2967  Год назад

      I don't fully understand your question, but I believe it's about how the jack without the adapter goes under the bike, yes the jack will hit the motor. That is why I made the adapter along with the frames being different heights under the bike. Here's a video on the adapter but it is not my best video it was done as a request of someone else.

    I would laugh at the very few commenters who say you’re an f…n know it all 😆. I only leave comments similar when people talk way too much waving their hands and finger gestures, I call puppeteering and don’t produce video. I like them to the Wizard of Oz, “ Great talkers”. You produce Great video’s with awesome ideas.

    Not bad I plan on buying a scissor jack and the heavy duty steel dolly with wheels so I can move it in the winter out of the way. I’m the guy with the 05 Dyna Wide Glide and the damn 88 Twin Cam oil pan protector is in the way. You’d think the design alone would warrant free adapters just treat it as a recall. I may try and make one for the jack when I get it. What sold me on the jack is fully closed with the additional dolly is 4.4” the platform is 11”x 16” with the non skid rubber mat and being uniform flat surface gives me the extra room for adapters that will be needed the full extended height is about 19” or so. I decided on the flat scissors jack because it’s more compact under the bike to have room to work right there instead of bulky bars and extended wheels that seem to always be in the way. I have all the parts for a front modification during off season. I have a 17x3.5 Fat Boy chrome rim I picked up off a guy who bought a brand new 09 Fat Boy rode it home and back to dealer for a tire rim swap and it only has 50 miles on the rim it has 25mm front bearings but I bought 25mm to 3/4” reducers so it will work and just mounted a Avon Cobra chrome 130/80/R17 front tire to replace the skinny 21” spoke that comes on them I figure with a bigger wider 5.108” tread will give it a better ride and I have a Softail Custom fender brand new with 6.1/8” opening to give the Glide more of a bigger front end. The only problem I’ll have is my Harley has a numbered paint job 122/200 made in yellow with black flames and red Harley-Davidson tank and flame highlights so it won’t be easy doing the fender I already did a mock fit so everything will line up and look good. I have a Pittsburgh Harbor Freight jack like new but like I said big bulky handle and wheel stance and I’ve heard of the bottle jacks blowing seals and the poor soul comes out and see’s his bike on the ground many jacks don’t have the safety lock the scissor jack is only rated for 1,100 pounds but my bike is around 690 with all fluids so it’ll be fine and it also has the scissor locks on it. Good luck on videos as I used to do bass covers years ago and they’d be removed for copyright violations. Today’s You Tube is really bad not at all what it used to be.

    Awesome vid! Thanks for doing them. I have that same jack and it's a huge help! Hey did you just tie those self titening loops or are they sewed? Are they made from excess lashing strap?

      @davidriegner2967  4 года назад

      Sorry I haven't replied Rob. Haven't checked the comments lately. In my youth I was a rock climber. I used what's called a " webbing knot" to tie the loops. Google it.I used one of the ratcheting straps to make them. loops

      @@davidriegner2967 No worries! I actually found loops at Harbor freight when I was buying new cinch straps! I rigged it up on my Sportster the other day. Seemed to work ok. Lifting that bike on the aluminum lift is a bit of a pain. The frame rails are super narrow! Thanks for the help and great video!
