I really appreciate how you get right to the point. So many RUclips videos are so wasteful of our time by producing a bunch of crap that has nothing to do with the title of the video.

Very useful to have this in small bites thank-you.

Thank you for these direct to the point, I just bought a 7300 and the instructions are in Japanese.

Awesome, glad it worked. I filmed a video today on some general settings for the 7300 and will release that soon. Stay tuned! 73.

This is quite helpful. Thank you. I have an ICOM 7300 and did not see right away how to change the RF Power. I looked through the index of the manual and did not see mention of "Power", "RF Power", or "Output Power". I suppose the detail is in the manual somewhere :)

    Hi
What shld my millisecond delay be set for on my Icom 7300, using the sb1000 tube amp?
    Thanks

My IC7300 will put out 100w on RTTY or FM, But only 30 watts maximum on ssb with power set at 100%. I have checked audio settings. my mic gain is 65% which is considered very high. I use a RF power components Maxi Tuner in front of the Transmitter. The SWR is in spec and i know the Impedance to the transmitter is 50 ohm.

You are one of the many thousand hams in the world who does not understand yet the meaning of PEP and AVG output power and believe their 7300 needs alignment or modify to increase the power.I am sure you are reding your PO using an average wattmeter as many out there in the market and is very NORMAL to read between 30 to 40% of your rated power on RTTY,FM and CW when you talk on SSB. The only way to see your actual powerof 100W is reading it using a PEP power meter, otherwise you will NEVER see more than 30 to 40 W. And please don't pay attention to some hams who advice entering the calibration menu to increase your average power up to 100 W because then your are actually increasing the 7300 to 160 to 170 WPW and it will decrease substantially your spectral purity incresing your IMD3 creating splatters around your freq and besides you will put your radio in risk for passing higher RF current trough the small relays in the low pass filters and in the antenna tuner. I advice you to access my video here on youtube where I explain detaily why not to increase your AVG power, open this link: ruclips.net/video/GYDq9cTtj4k/видео.html

Thanks for posting PA1RAF. You may be referring to the ALC. I’ve read that the ALC does have the potential to drop the output down a bit in SSB based on audio peaks depending on settings, but I don’t have any way of verifying. Regardless, I’ve been able to get up to 7000 miles on SSB, so I’m very happy!

@@transmittinguntilrobotsrep1045 I have actually made contacts that were 8,500+ miles away running 100W on SSB as well.

@@K4SRF Nicely done - 8,500 is a mighty distance. With propagation improving as the solar cycle ramps up, hopefully everyone will be enjoying great DX. 73!
