If the property taxes are so high in TX, then why are people still paying so high prices. I mean you're paying 10k to 15k on 500k home and in nevada for the same price home. You're saying 2500.00..... I see no reason to move to TX if your fixed costs are so high that you will never go away even after paying off your home. Those cost fixed cost never go away...
Hi there, I think some of your numbers are a bit off. If we are talking about Celina, if you have a house that is $520,000 then your yearly property taxes (unexempt) will be around $4300. But we have homestead exemptions here...so if it is your primary residence you can get an additional discount off the $4300:) So, its not quite as bad as your numbers:))) And we don't have a state income tax and our property value always holds really well and appreciates. So, its a win win.
