    Sir, I have a question.. please clarify it... The total participation and partial participation are not considerable in 1:N relationship. Because, if the relationship is in 1:N then 1 side primary key will be the foreign key of N side. Is it Right? If the total participation in the 1 side and partial participation in the N side, what should be done?

    When cardinality is written in min max form
    What should one do for relational database mapping

    • @SARALGYAN_pkumar
      @SARALGYAN_pkumar  3 года назад +1

      If cardinality is given in Min-Max form then very easily it can be represented into 1:N, 1:1, N:1 and M:N

    Sir, If there is any Generalization and Specialization What show we do to convert that?.

    • @SARALGYAN_pkumar
      @SARALGYAN_pkumar  4 года назад +1

      This video is for the ER model to Relational model conversion. Generalization and Specialization are used in the EER model. There are some rules for EER to Relational model as well:
      Rule 1: If we have total or partial generalization/specialization relationships as well as
      disjoint or overlap generalization/specialization relationships.
      Rule 2: If there is total or full
      participation between the superclass and the subclasses or there is a disjoint relationship
      Rule 3: if there is a disjoint relationship between the superclass and subclasses
      Rule 4: General rule for both overlap and disjoints
      Hopefully, I will create and post the video on that soon.

    Hello sir, can you answer this
    Can you answer this question:
    Q:design the relational schema for E-R diagram that you have drawn for part question
    enter about 5 sets of meaningful data in each of the relations
    identify the domain of various attributies

    • @SARALGYAN_pkumar
      @SARALGYAN_pkumar  3 года назад +1

      Dear,
      domain means the range and type of values an attribute can store.
      E.g. if data type of an attribute is Number, so it can hold only digits from 0 to 9.
      So as per the domain of the attributes, fill the values in the tables which you will get after converting er model into relational model.
