Ford named their cars in alphabetical sequence... There would have been 8 designs between the L on the coin & the T. This doesn't mean 8 production runs - some of the models were only built 15 or 20 cars. The T standardised every single part of the car - you could take the engine out of a 1916 & bolt it in to a '26 with no trouble at all. 15000000 Model T's were built around the world.
