At least Cardan's tail wasn't mentioned as often as the hooves! I was laughing so hard at an intense scene bc of how Wren described Oak's hooves clopping against the floor 😭 like they were running for their lives & you just had to remind us that he's basically a hot Grover lmao I feel like that was Holly Black lowkey trolling us for hating on the tail
NOOO😭 i did not need the hot grover comparison how dare you🥲 and i agree, i could definitely see holly black throwing that in there because of how people feel about the tail…
I finished reading Chain of Thorns around 2 AM this morning. It was really good, but I almost feel like there are too many characters and I really felt that in this book. It made me cry at one point. Also, this had the longest epilogue ever lol. I ended up giving it 4 stars.
Katie's shade towards the protagonist in The Name of the Wind gives me life 😭 Congratulations on reading all those books! I only read four books last month, so I'm going to try to do a little better this month 😤 And I hope that you enjoy Chain of Thorns!
I just finished Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of faeries 🧚♂️🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚 it was sooo good! I really enjoyed that it was strangely analytical, but whimsical all at once 😄 Omg! I feel the same about Oak's attributes lol
ah i’m so glad you loved emily wilde!! the analytical side was definitely different at first and i ended up loving it!! and yeah i could definitely do without oak’s hooves😭😭
I’m so glad you loved Mistborn. I read it years ago and need a reread soon. My husband read it first and said you should read it, it’s about ska and ash, and that was all I got but read it anyway 😂 I have to read the 7th book that came out last year from the Wax & Wayne series that’s a part of the series.
Every book I read in january was a 5 star read which is insane honestly, never happened before, but I guess I just found two new favourite series! Highly recommend Murderbot diares by Martha Wells, it was so fun, especially as audiobooks. Also, I'm now adding Mistborn to my tbr, it's time to get over my high fantasy fear lol
oh that’s amazing! i’m so glad you had such a good reading month!!🖤🖤 ive heard really good things about the murderbot diaries, so glad it’s a new fav for you!!
Eating crêpes, sipping tea and watching Katie's new video: an immaculate experience. I think my favourite book I read in January was My Mess Is a Bit of a Life by Georgia Pritchett. It's a memoir in which the author talks mainly about issues of anxiety by sharing short stories from her life (most of them are shorter than one page, it was a really quick read). I just genuinely loved the way the author put anxiety into words. Most of the stories didn't even feel as heavy as I thought they would, going into the book, simply because the author never failed to include a little humour, sarcasm or irony. I felt seen and understood by the book somehow and like I'm not alone. And I don't know, it's just a nice feeling to finally find words for something you've been struggling to express forever, even if you didn't come up with them yourself. I really enjoyed reading the book, it gave me a lot (if that makes any sense).
now i want some crepes😭 (hope you enjoyed yours though haha!) but i’m so glad to hear that you connected with a book like that, that’s what makes reading so special and i love hearing about how other people feel so understood by the books they read🥺
Cannot wait to hear what you think of Chain of Thorns! I'll be getting my copy tomorrow and starting IMMEDIATELY. I also had a really good reading month bc I read 10 books, which is a lot! I reread the Skyward series by Brandon Sanderson because I want to start the 3rd book and didn't remember anything so I'll be picking that one up in February :)
I read 13 books in January which is wild because I've never read that many books in one month before. My favorite was Mysteries of Thorn Manor because I was so excited to be back with my comfort characters. Second favorite (that was actual book length not novella) was The Golden Braid which is a Rapunzel retelling. My least favorite was The Purloining of Prince Oleomargarine, a book written from Mark Twain's notes and the writing style was just very weird to me and I didn't care for the story itself. Luckily it was only an hour and 10 minute audiobook so didn't last too long.
i can't wait for your thoughts on chain of thorns! this series is seriously incredible and i will be rereading at least once a year til the end of time omg
The Last Hours is now my favourite series, edging out The Infernal Devices by a smidge! Loved Chain of Thorns - laughed, cried, grumped at Cassie for one thing, chewed my fingernails through all the dramatic bits, and as soon as I finished it, started a reread!
I haven't read any book by Cassandra. I don't know where I should start because she has so many books and so many series..and I guess they are all connected..?
def start with city of bones! it's cassie's first book & introduces the world so seamlessly! i read the first three mortal instruments, then the infernal devices, then the last three mortal instruments, then the dark artifices, & then the last hours. the last hours is cassie's newest and best series imo
My favorite book of January was A Court of Mist and Fury! Just got back into reading this year and it was sparked by the ACOTAR series. Due to working full time night shifts at a hospital, I don’t have as much time to dedicate to reading so I’m proud of being able to read 5 books per month. Love your reviews!!!
well i’m so glad you found some time to read in your busy schedule!! acotar is definitely super fun and i’m so happy you like it as well!! and thank you!
Chain of Thorns looks so good on your shelf! Currently 300 pages in and dying (but also loving every second 😆) I think my favorite read this month was The Infernal Devices Manga because it was really nice to revisit some of my favorite characters in a new format. Loved this video as always and I am so looking forward to your thoughts on Chain of Thorns 💙✨
i’m just so glad that all three of the books in the last hours can finally be together🥲 (so glad you’re enjoying chain of thorns though, have you finished it yet??) but i freaking love the infernal devices manga!! i need to reread them sometime soon!
it's actually a really good idea that you're jumping between stormlight archive and mistborn! i did the same thing but I ended up reading rhythm of war before I finished the mistborn trilogy and i'd say definitely finish mistborn before jumping into stormlight archive book 4, I got spoiled for a gigantic plot point at the end of the trilogy lol
@@AllisonJones1875 Yes, there is no spoiler for any other series in the Mistborn trilogy, whereas in Stormlight Archive, as the novels progress, you get more and more connections :)
My favorite book of January was Better Than The Movies by Lynn Painter. My least favorite book of January was The Midnight Library. I just got chain of thorns in the mail yesterday so excited to start reading it this weekend!
I’m re-reading Clockwork Angel right now and am going to continue TID in preparation for binging The Last Hours 😅😍 I found Chain of Iron at the library & have Chain of Gold. I’m super excited to be reunited with Will, Tessa, and Jem 🥰🥰🥰
the way i am also rereading TID right now (i finished chain of thorns last week and was so sad i needed a reread haha)😭 so glad you’re enjoying your reread though, will, jem, and tessa are just amazing characters!!

I’m really enjoying chain of thorns so far, I’m about 560 pages in. I do prefer the first two books in the trilogy, but I am still really enjoying the book.
My favorite book of January was The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde; oh my gosh this was so good. My least favorite book was The Pearl by John Steinbeck; I gave it three stars.
