Thank you for your video! Our kids and grandkids live in a high wind area and the rim detached from the backboard with a fall. Your video really helped us figure out how to re-attach.
Great video... 1 question. On the part where you did the pole to base assembly.. how did you get those screws to face down from the pole Into the base and put the nuts on the back side of the bracket and base ??? On mine the screws go up from the base into the pole with no way of putting a nut on the ends of the screws because they're inside the pole. How did you screw those screws into the pole and then put the nuts on the other end of those threaded screws???🤔🤔
They were dual ended studs, meaning they are threaded on both ends. I simply threaded one end of them into the bottom of the pre-threaded holes located on the bottom of the pole. This can be seen @4:50 in the video. I threaded them all the way to the hex nut on the studs and tightened them until secure.
@@dholloway2482 It took me two days to complete it, but I began late afternoon on both days. I could have done it in a day by myself, had I started early in the morning. With a helper I could have gotten it done in probably half that time.

@@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI what happens if you pre extend it because I did that on accident while trying to attach the backboard to the poles and it won't compress its just stuck.
@@MikeyKun-w6s Yeah, I did the same thing and had to take a short metal rod, like a punch or something similar that would fit through the little hole in the metal tab at the end of the strut, and then use that to push the strut into the ground with my body weight. I put a block of wood on the ground so I would not ruin the other end of the strut. You can see me performing this around 18:52 in the video.
Yea I ended up being able to recompress it enough to install it on the hoop but when I try set it to 10 ft it doesn't sit at 10ft it slowly goes down till it reaches 8.6 feet
@@MikeyKun-w6s Hmm, that’s odd. It definitely should not be doing that. See if the latch that locks it in place is installed properly. In order to squeeze the handle there should be a latch that you have to press with the handle in order to release the strut and once you set in place, you let go of that handle and it latches it in place so it cannot move.
I saw that you weren’t able to reach the mark where the poles are supposed to overlap. I can’t either. How much did you have left to meet the 3.5 inches it requires? Thanks
I have the crank system and it's all assembled except the I can't get the backboard level. It's tilted forward at the lowest and highest hight. Any ideas?
Mine wasn’t exactly level either. It was close but I wanted perfection lol. I used some old 2’x2’ kitchen tiles that we had leftover from the previous owner of our house and used them like shims underneath the the tank at the bottom of the assembly, in order to get it as level as possible using a bubble level on the backboard. Not very scientific but I hope that helps!
I just noticed that there are 2 stickers on the back of the pole that explains how to adjust the height and how to move the hoop, my question is why is it on the back and not the front as the instruction guide says it has to face the front
Good catch! I did not even notice that in the instructions! The adjustment is made in the back, so it might make sense to have the stickers face the back??? We haven't really looked at the stickers much. Adjusting it is pretty easy and self-explanitory once you begin to adjust it.
Question I’m struggling to make the net lower. It requires so much power and still doesn’t do the trick lol. It goes up to 10 feet easily. Any tips on how to fix it?
We have noticed that it is easier to go up than down (since going up means pulling down on the assembly and you have weight and gravity on your side). When bringing the net down, try to position your footing so that you can leverage your legs as much as possible. This may be tricky if not very tall. My 9 year old daughter struggles with this but when she usually just gets better footing and then is able to do it. Also, maybe adjust the tightness on some of the nuts on the arms that are connecting to the back of the backboard might help a little. Having them too tight might make more difficult. They don’t give any torque specs in the instructions so it’s hard to tell if there too tight or not. I hope this helps! Sorry I don’t have a more definitive answer.
@@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI sounds good thank you so much man I’m able to bring it too 8-8.5 feet but 7.5 feels literally impossible thanks though. Is yours able to go down to 7.5?. I went to Costco to see the floor model and there’s can’t go down to 7.5 too as it requires too much power lol

Yes, it is supposed to move up and down and hold the position. There’s a little chrome release button at one end of it that needs to be depressed by that handle installed @20:03, in order to adjust its length. Hope that helps!
@@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI Yes, I saw that. It's a great video. I will redo the handle installation and see what happens. It seems that the release button cannot be pushed down by hand? It is very resistant.
@@andrewacorda2662 It just used a small metal rod. In this case, a hole punch, to fit in that hole on the release button. And then used my weight and pressed strut against the floor to compress it.
