Thank you for this video. Straightforward and extremely easy to understand. Also, helpful with learning those easy to use F keys to make corrections. Again, thank you!!!
I wanted some information on how to create this bibliography in the APA 7th format and this was the answer to my questions. Also I just randomly searched for an instructional video on google and to my surprise it is from the university I am currently attending. CSU Global is a great university, highly recommend it to anybody who wants to earn a bachelors degree online
The annotated bibliography looks like a References page but includes an annotation after each source cited. An annotation is a short summary and/or critical evaluation of a source.
Mr Library I have two questions. First what if the authors names are already in capitals then do we still need to change in lower case ? Secondly citation comes at the start and reference in exact APA 7 edition should come in last on next page ? I’m just a new to all this .
Hello. I have a two part assignment. Part one asks for an annotated Bibliography and part two asks for an essay. Does the essay come after the annotated Bibliography
I can't say for sure without seeing the assignment, but I think the annotated bib. is to prepare you to write the essay. Then, with your essay, they probably want a non annotated bib or list of references included at the end.
does the indentention of the summaryhave to line up with the last sentence of the citation? because mine doesn't, i believe is because my citation takes up 3 lines..but I am not sure thanks for this upload
Yes, the annotation (summary) should line up with the last line of your citation. They should both be indented half an inch or 0.5. It shouldn't make any difference how many lines your citation is. Make sure the citation is set up with a hanging indent. And then make sure you take off the hanging indent on your summary and set it to a .5 indent for the whole summary. You can set those indents by clicking the little arrow next to "Paragraph" in Microsoft Word. Does this make sense?
My question is how to cite another source within annotated bibliography? Should it be same as full reference entry and then paraphrasing from it ? Thanks please answer
I wouldn't cite another source within an annotation. Is that what you're asking about. Don't do that. It will turn your annotated bibliography into another paper, which will make this way too complicated and will defeat the purpose of putting together the bibliography.
@@MrLibrary Thanks a lot . This is what was making me confuse . You are really a help . I want to request your formatting APA for beginners or I would check if you had already made . Thanks again 🙏
Well, the annotated bibliography is an expanded version a References page, so if you have the annotated bibliography put together correctly, it has your references built into it, so you don't need a separate references page. Hopefully that makes sense.
It is sort of like reinventing the wheel, but the point of the annotation is for you to summarize the article yourself. If you just copy an paste the abstract from the article, you will probably get busted for plagiarism. If your school uses a service like Turnitin, it will probably flag this as plagiarism.
Great .. I have learnt a lot . Today I got an assignment ( topic: the best learning management system for lambton college) . I have no idea about annotated bibliography. . Pls help me sir ..
I would first gather information about the needs of that college and then I would see if I could find articles or websites that discuss the different learning management systems. Then put together a list of the best information resources and provide a one paragraph summary of each source. The articles can give you a start on this. scholar.google.com/scholar?q=learning+management+systems&hl=en&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart
Great video. Would it be okay to add an extra indent (about a quarter more) after the citation, so there is a clearer view of where the paragraph begins? Thanks!
Well, the annotated bibliography is as reference page really. It's an expanded reference page that includes short summaries of the sources after the citations. It's purpose is usually to help you plan for your final paper.
The best explanation on here yet. Thank you sir!

@@MrLibrary It depends on whether your instructor asks for it not
Hi Mr Library. Why is it wrong to use abstract info for annotation? It seems like you are reinventing the wheel. Just wondering. Thank you.

The indentation on APA 7 is different on Purdue

Hiw to search article
Great video. Would it be okay to add an extra indent (about a quarter more) after the citation, so there is a clearer view of where the paragraph begins? Thanks!
I wouldn't do that. APA is pretty picky about its formats and your instructor will probably mark you down if you vary from APA's formatting rules.
school sucks
I agree, it ain’t easy when you have learning disabilities, stay strong my friend.
Super helpful! Thanks so much!

Does it include a reference page?
Well, the annotated bibliography is as reference page really. It's an expanded reference page that includes short summaries of the sources after the citations. It's purpose is usually to help you plan for your final paper.
