I love seeing Mike happy where he's at. As an old Dream Theater fan, I'm bummed there is no more "MP-influenced" DT material anymore but to be honest there is so much to choose from, so many albums and amazing songs to enjoy from '92 to '10. This interview is further proof of Mike's contentment and his professionalism in handling questions of his past. Love the editing and mixing as well!

The music is rich and powerful and they perform the material as if they wrote it.
Portnoy is a legend the spirit of DT is within him.

Mike is still one of my top 3 influences. Ever since I got my first swingstar kit and it came with that old ass Tama VHS lol I used to watch the ending solos constantly. First time I heard of MP and didnt even have access to DT music! :(

I heard it too. I believe it was the effect the keyboard player was using actually.

      Kevin Hobson
I don't think so, I believe Diego is using that kind of "bell" effect for his keyboard, just like the one Jordan used on the studio.

To me... Dream Theater died with MP... I mean I really wish them well, I saw them without Portnoy once, and it was great...But I find myself always going back to only Portnoy included material when listening to them.

Love his playing. But as an alcoholic trying to get better... I don’t believe him for one second. He’s always / and still is an attention whore.
