Thank you for sharing your authentic experience. I have recently come to recognize manipulative speeches, and how they have damaged me as a person through toxic relationships. Although I left those people a while ago, it still takes so much time to rebuild the values that were torn down and to rebuild trust with other people. May I know if your "friends" still kept calling you when you were trying to stay away from them? Did you just ignore their calls or even not to speak to them since you made up your mind to end the friendships?
Yea I really appreciate that you emphasise we needa choose friends carefully. People always think we can be friend with anyone we just need them as companion, and friendship is a casual relationship we dun have to put much effort on it. Those people totally underestimate how much a toxic friend can influence on our values, behaviour and mental health, and change our character as well.

I had one friend and I would be truly happy if he achieves any success in their life so I shared every progress I have made since I thought he would feel the same way. But he didn’t and be biting instead cuz he was experiencing some setbacks. I am always wondering if I did it wrong and neglected his feelings. But having a friend who always wants to compete with you is miserable
Seriously tough to be close friends with people who see you more as a competitor than a friend. These r tough choices we have to make. Pray God will give you wisdom on this!
