    The total power of 2 motors is 4000W, the solar battery capacity is 300W. Boat runs from battery storage and solar panels load electricity when stopping, not running directly from solar cells!

      How many watts are you running at full speed?
      How long does the battery last at full speed?
      How long does it take to recharge the battery with the solar panel?

      @@Andy-df5fj From the pure calculation looks like average lasting time is around 5min. Probably up to 10min if you are easy on throttle. I don't expect charging time to be less than an hour. Even if solar panel can deliver a lot of energy usually batteries can not charge as fast as discharge but of course it depends on type of cells. I'm curious how the reality is hopefully Sang can answer your questions.

      I agree, excellent work! Better than most of us are capable of.
      I also agree you need to streamline it and strengthen parts and hide/protect
      your gear.
      Just some ideas that would take nothing to update.
      1. When you screw into things, hit it and all attachment points with some kind of marine friendly filler. Holes in a boat scare me.
      2. Make a removable cover for running gear, those zip ties aint going to like all the UV.
      3. A front screen/spray/wind/fish guard would be nice.
      4. Use some of those pvc pipes to line the edges so you can dock, hit stuff.
      5. Extra seating? Bring someone along!
      6. Molded in storage spaces/12v TV, fridge, WIFI, GPS, its all cheap and small.
      7. Save your mold! Or at least incorporate it into the design, I see floaty bits being torn off.
      8. Come to my country, start a business with me making river boats, we'll make big bucks.
      9. Make full paper cut outs for your molds so we can not start blind. We'll pay!
      10. Keep it up and continue evolving, I love the pace of going from gas, to electric, to solar, now go hybrid!
      Thank you for your work.

    • @Alrukitaf
      @Alrukitaf 2 года назад +6

      @@Nevir202 he looks like an experienced boatbuilder (at least fibreglass layups, and wiring up electric drivetrains), and no-one would spend the time effort and energy to produce an electric boat with solar panel and bilge pump, and then scrap it. He’s likely sold the thing.

    I've been interested in boat making for a few years and have been self-taught, and this video is always amazing.
    The electric type that charges with solar has long been admired, but it seems that it will not be damaged immediately due to the burden of electronic devices because stable power can be obtained by storing it in the battery once and then taking out the power.
    I also want to make a solar boat someday, because I do not know how long gasoline can be used due to soaring fuel prices

    Great project! However, my extensive experience with photovoltaics tells me that a polycrystalline panel could produce a maximum of 10-15W in a specific weather, which is not enough to drive two motors with regulators. In this case, only the capacity of the charged solar battery was used. The photovoltaic panel only slightly and insignificantly charged the battery through the MPPT. This does not diminish the idea of the project, because these things really work as long as the parameters are met.

      Thats probably about 300 watts of solar, plenty to charge that battery throughout the day.

      @@stonyfieldmotorsports Za jeden jasný nebo polojasný slunečný den dokáže tento polykrystalický panel vyrobit 0,6 - 1,2 kWh elektřiny - žádný problém. V této situaci (vybíjení motorů) a počasí (slunce za mraky) však příspěvek z panelů není významný - polykrystalický panel v této situaci (slunce za mraky) produkuje maximálně 15W, což v celkové spotřebě cca. 2x300W a více je úplně ztraceno. Energii tedy dodávají především baterie, které nedostatkem energie z panelu rychle ztrácejí kapacitu. Daleko lepší by byl projekt se stacionární nabíjecí fotovoltaickou stanicí na břehu potoka s několika solárními bateriemi. Baterie by byla připojena pouze k jízdě lodí (bez fotovoltaické střechy). Mohl by to být dobrý rekreační podnik...

      I wonder where he hid the gasoline motor?

    • @DL-kc8fc
      @DL-kc8fc 2 года назад +2

      @@BrianRoddaDesigner :) It doesn't have to have a gasoline engine. A fully charged 100Ah solar battery (most often gel) can really handle it. :)

      Hi Valen, I don't think you really have experience in PV. I'm renewable energy professor in university, actually there are pv panels up to 600w, this specific pv is 300w, it is not providing energy directly to the engines, it is just charging the battery, it is the battery that works as a buffer what is powering the engines.

    Hi I've seen several videos of yours and you are amazing. Also you use a glue that sticks absolutely everything (white little bottle). Can you tell me what it is and where I can order it? Thanl you

      I used quick-drying metal glue to stick everything in place, as the name of the glue differs from country to country. You can find them at your supermarket, Thank you very much, hope you always support.

    Impressive. The only thing I'd change is I would install the solar panel level, so that it got the same power irrespective of your direction. Also probably better aerodynamics.

Beautiful build my friend great work! Sir, if you have a complete component list you could send me that would be AMAZING!!!! Thank you again for the inspiration!
