I can never understand why Sue Raney never recorded an extended version of the beautiful song on an album. Seems no other vocalist has either. It's a shame, because it's so great. Thanks for posting it here.
Henry Mancini's soundtracks never failed to add a touch of class and seemingly attainable luxury, an air of the debonair lifestyle the middle-class moviegoer could at least dream of, to the films of the sixties. There used to be quite a few who, while appreciating his instrumentals, regarded his songs as a bit on the sappy side, but keep in mind: This era, the late '60s, was perhaps the last time where you could be unabashedly romantic and yearning for sophistication and poise. And there's hardly any recording that signifies that quite like this one. A song I associate with three of the most graceful and luminous ladies, Audrey Hepburn and Lee Remick, who'd played the role of Susy in the successful Broadway production. Two actresses whose tenure here on earth was much too short, it's rather consoling to know that the third lady, my favorite living songbird, the one and only Sue Raney, _most underrated singer ever,_ is doing fine last I heard. Thank you for this upload! P.S. If you like this song, you might also fancy _Here's That Rainy Day_ by, well, for instance ... Sue Raney.
Just watched the movie again on TCM, and never noticed how beautiful the ending music was, sung by this artist. Thanks for posting - I've saved to 60's favs!
Just saw this movie again tonight on tubi (free) Audrey Hepburn was one of the loveliest and most talented actresses of her time. Her essence endures throughout time. I love her performance inThe Nun's Story as well. May she RIP.
Finally someone has put this beautiful vocal of "Wait Until dark" by Sue Raney such a lovely voice and music to dance to in the dark. Luckily YT has a wide genre of music that we can search for and listen to. maybe this takes the place of radio stations since they don't play this kind of music anymore.
One of the prettiest songs ever composed by Henry Mancini. And sung perfectly by the beautiful Sue Raney!
I have loved this movie since ( I )first saw it in 1971 and always dig soundtracks...like this!
Incredible film. Hepburn and Arkin were to die for.
