Special thanks to Geraldine Boots that provided the title for this song. A big kiss and hugs in thanks.
A Voice like No Other...Heavenly ❤
No One compares to Johnny he is just the greatest ❤️
My eyes will never get weary of seeing this man nor my ears will never tire of hearing the beautiful music of Johnny Mathis. God surely gave us an angel on this earth for 76 years now...Behold!
thats so true
i have loved johnny since i was a little girl i still love him now i never get tired of listening to johnny love you johnny always
A particularly moving performance of this classic. Johnny Mathis recorded this during his years at Mercury Records. A most prolific period of his recording career.
God bless! What a wonderful performance and mastery!
The finest male vocalist in popular music, ever, for sure.
I would assert Nat King Cole is just as good.
Terrific, thank you Johnny Mathis!
Great set of pipes!!! Thanks for posting 👍
sempre lindo.
I can't believe what I've heard.
Incredible
What a Beautiful Star
having been born in the 80s, it's hard to believe that such magically whimsical and beautiful performances like Johnny's were accepted as entertainment. had it not been for the rampid racism, this country would have been a paradise.
There were many many famous black entertainers 20 years before you were born. Johnny Mathis was a big name, but only one of many.
Just wonderful of course!
I love Johnny ❤️
This is the best performance of this song.
WOW, this is terrific, thanks for sharing.

Johnny.. Don't know which is your official you tube "site" but please see my comment on the cut from your heavenly album, misty (written by errol garner) P.S. we need a 2020 production of lost in the stars on Broadway!
Very moving song and interpretation. Do you know what show this was from and what year?
Looks like it's from Dean Martin's show, maybe b/w 1965-1966. watch their performance of 'take me out to the pool hall'
It’s from “Lost In The Stars,” a musical by Kurt Weil. The story is taken from the book, “Cry The Beloved Country” by Alan Payton.

Where I can obtain this orchestration?
Wow...what a voice!!! I never liked those horrible choir arrangements in the background....what all the shrill ahhhs and ooooos. The voice is timeless, the arrangement is not!! I knew he had range, but not also power!
It's as if Kurt Weill had written this for Mr. Mathis' range. Remarkable. Was not familiar with it.
Yes, it's from a musical called LOST IN THE STARS, which isn't performed very often. It's an interesting show, though (I've seen it).
Mathis sings high notes which are not in the composition. The song doesn't require a great range, but Johnny makes his performance memorable by changing it up, and doing so with a great deal of respect for the song. He was a very classy guy.

...and remains so...
Black Gay man sings about losing faith in God. Incredible performance.
Not bad, but a touch overly dramatic for mine. For depth of emotional you can't beat the Elvis Costello version used in the wonderful Italian movie Domenica.
E Costello is a rock singer, he can never sing as well as Johnny can!
Judy Garland has a nice version, too.
@@ralphewell8398 Judy Garland.. Awesome, She's one of my favorite, should have never been treated so horribly.
Johnny Mathis's is really marvelous, but for my money it's Garland.
