Honestly mate your container videos are great, I’m a new pass driver and just got myself a job on containers. I didn’t have a clue what I would be doing until I found your videos. Keep up the good work and maybe I’ll see you about on the road some day
If there's one guy who loves his job. It's this guy, only found him a week ago and he's been so close so home and i also mean that by his personality it's just so positive for the viewer.
I loved the timelapse segment! More of those please!! They’re great for filler segments instead of just showing when youre leaving a depot and cutting to when youre arriving like other trucking youtubers. We wanna see some driving too! Love your videos Raul ❤
Hello, I am from Spain and I just discovered your channel, next week I will start driving an hgv, I have learned a lot with your videos, thanks for showing us your work, the best youtube truck channel, greetings
New subscriber..going back on the rigs (Class 2 only for now) after almost 30 years..looking forward to the challenge. Brilliant informative videos big man, keep up the good work.
I am a new truck driver, I passed 3 months ago and started container work 2 weeks after I passed. I am a sub-driver for maritime and I love the job. keep up the great content you are one of the reasons I got into this line of work.
Thanks Raul I've watched a few of your videos on containers now, as I'm starting on containers next week as a container rookie, so thought I'd learn abit first before I turn up, give me a head start on the game, many thanks, new sub here 😀 👍🏻
Great video Raul, very informative and interesting to see how the skele trailer works, can you show more on those trailers when extending and closing. Cheers
I do containers in Canada and found it interesting as to the differences in equipment.I used to travel to the port in Montreal but got too old for it so now I mainly pick up and drop at the rail yards around Toronto.
thanks for your video ,I found it very interesting how it all works ,I live in Western Australia and there is lots of box trucks on the road here as well, have never done any of it myself , I pull a 42ft walking floor trailer. self load with front end loader using high lift bucket carting green waste and mulch. I start work at 0500 hrs and finish time is usually around 1730 hrs but traffic can sometimes add another hour at the end of the day and a 30 minute drive home in the car at the end of the day.
Hi Raul,i said in an earlier vlog i had an experience at Seaforth 1980s here goes. The dockers were on work to rule a straggler was loading me a loaded box that i had to deliver.Box was 1 foot from landing on skell trailer and the siren went for lunch ,the box stopped 1 foot in air.The driver came down ladder and i said to him aye aye lad why didn't you drop box i am going to be late for delivery now.Guess what he said TOUGH SHIT working to rule.A couple weeks later i was driving along old dock road to Seaforth 7am summertime but it was pissing down rain and the road was flooded alongside kerb.I saw walking along close to a large puddle same driver "Bastard " GUESS what " YESSSS " i drove straight through puddle " PISSED ALL OVER HIM " YEEAA ". 🤣🤣😂😂👌😁😁He saw me in Seaforth and said you soaked me you fff bbb ccc ???? on dock road.Guess what i said to him " TOUGH SHIT " . True happening.
Great video as always. Can you tell me what is the best job for a beginner to start in HGV Class 1? Because they ask for experience but it difficult to get experience if no one gives you opportunities. Thank you very much!
Thanks pal. I can suggest you sign up for a couple of agencies and that way you have mlre chances to work more, even if you are a beginner. In my opinion container work is the easiest one. Cheers and good luck 👍👍
Great video Raul, I have just found your channel and I am enjoying it very much 👍. I am an owner driver courier and do similar style content. I am researching being a truck driver as it appeals to me, especially overnight and tramping stuff. Can I ask, when you are doing containers in the North West what tis the furthest distance from base that you go? Do you drive nationally or just stay in the North West?
@@vanontherun2843 hi,i live in the USA and am also a owner driver. Please how do i get to be a owner driver in the UK? I want to move over there because i met a lady am getting married to.
Great video man. Managed to get myself some container work through an agency starting tommorrow. Very worried about it tbh as it is my first job since passing and I dont have a clue about twist locks and the sliding skelly trailers etc.
Liked all your videos👍 b&m😂 I've got two handy tips for you with your garmin sat nat. First one is down load the garmin smart phone link app and you can go on Google maps and share your location to ur sat nav👍This only works for samsung tho. Second tip is go into ur settings on sat nav and click map & vehicle, map & layers then tick map log. This will show a thin blue line on ur route and can help you get back from difficult routes when ur sat nav is saying go a different way. follow the blue line
Thanks pal yeah i always use the map log. It's really handy when you go in new-ish locations. I don't connect with my phone die to battery drain but i knkw its a verry nice feature. Thanks 👍👍
@@Raul689 it don't drain battery, you just pin the location on Google map then click share and find the garmin app and send the location to ur sat nav. Close app job done🙂
Hi Raul.. I'm a new Class1 Driver ..but I have experience class2... I'm interested in Container Truck.. Do you recommend me Container truck job as a new Driver? Thanks 😊
the plate from the trailer is the same with the plate from the truck. in the UK they don't have 2 plates. and they dont have insurance or documents for the trailer. just simpler
@@Raul689 i see. I only do it for couple of seconds then then turn the engine off while I continue walk round checks. Idling, Stobbarts policy you see... Thanks for the answer. Regards.
You are right pal i don't like idling too but i think 2-3 minutes it's imperative. Just to let it geather up a bit of air to see if it leaks. I know Stobarts trucks turn off after 1-2 minutes if i remember corectly. I worked for Stobart Rail a while back on containers. They were ok
Boxes are really easy and boring to be honest. You can wait for hours to get tipped. And once you know your way arround the docks it's really really easy. Just open the doors and get your feet up

Those sliding trailers, where you slide back for loading/unloading... can they not be towed in their 'short' form?
They could when they are empty. Although they kind of act weird when you wow them short. Like the break it's catching. Don't know why

how does working as a Box rat compare to working refrigerated or curtainsiders?

I do

I'am from Germany - and here every trailer has its own mounted licence plate - why do you remove the plate from the trailer?
the plate from the trailer is the same with the plate from the truck. in the UK they don't have 2 plates. and they dont have insurance or documents for the trailer. just simpler
Do you guys only run cab overs?
They are very rare. Due to length restrictions they can't really be used pulling regular trailers
@@Raul689 Aw ok thanks
Can't help thinking that spray grease should be in every truck
Why do you keep the engine running while doing walk round check?
So i can check for excesive smoke, blue smoke or any other leaks, strange noises or air leaks etc. Lots of things you can only see with the engine on
