Cobra Kai is an American martial arts comedy-drama streaming television series and a sequel to the Karate Kid's original movie directed by Robert Mark Kamen. The series was created by Josh Heeld, John Harwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who repeated their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence in the 1984 movie The Karate Kid. Thirty-four years later, the Cobra Kai examines the story of "Miyagi Verse" from Johnny's point of view, his decision to reopen the Cobra Kai Karate Dojo, and the resurgence of his old competition with Daniel. The Cobra Kai also plays Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Dechenzo, Martin Kove, Vanessa Rubio and Peyton List. This series boasts high ratings on both RUclips and Netflix and has received widespread positive reviews from critics. The third season was also nominated for an "Outstanding Comedy Series" at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. The first season started on RUclips Red in 2018 and the second season continued in 2019. After the production of the third season was completed, RUclips decided to stop producing the original scripted show and leave the show without a house. Netflix acquired the series in June 2020 and released the third season on January 1, 2021. Netflix expanded the series to the fourth season, released on December 31, 2021. The fourth season of the Cobra Kai was released on Netflix on December 31, 2021 and consists of 10 episodes. This series is a direct sequel to the four original films of The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, more than 30 years after the original film. Following the first two seasons on RUclips, Netflix will release the second season. Rocky Balboa is a 2006 American sports drama film written and directed by, and also starring, Sylvester Stallone. It is the sequel to Rocky V (1990) and is the sixth installment in the Rocky franchise. It also stars Burt Young and Antonio Tarver. In the film, Rocky Balboa (Stallone), now an aging small restaurant owner, is challenged to an exhibition fight by hothead boxer Mason Dixon (Tarver). Rocky Balboa was Antonio Tarver's first and only film, and Stallone's first film as director since Rocky IV (1985). Development for a sixth Rocky film began after Stallone expressed regret of the outcome of Rocky V, which was viewed as a disappointing conclusion to the end of the franchise. Rocky Balboa includes references to characters and objects from previous installments, and Stallone was inspired by recent personal struggles and triumphs when writing the film.[5] Principal photography began in December 2005 and lasted until January 2006, with filming locations including Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. In contrast to previous entries in the franchise, the fight choreography in Rocky Balboa was less scripted, featuring real punches thrown by Stallone and Tarver. Rocky Balboa was theatrically released by MGM Distribution Co. and Sony Pictures Releasing in the United States on December 20, 2006, thirty years after the release of the first film. Rocky Balboa received generally positive reviews, with praise for its screenplay, Stallone's performance, and heartfelt exploration of Balboa's character, with many critics labelling the film one of the best entries in the franchise. It grossed over $156 million worldwide, subverting expectations to rebound from the box office performance of its predecessor. A sequel and spin-off, Creed, was released in 2015.

Fun fact John G Avildsen who directed the Rocky films also directed the Karate Kid Trilogy
John only directed Rocky 1 (I personally credit Stallone more as he is the one who pitched & wrote the script of the original film) & 5. Stallone directed most of the other sequels from Rocky 2-4, & 6 (Rocky-Balboa).
We serously need a Creed reference in the future seasons.

Another reference: when Miguel starts the "Rocky-Apollo" conversation with Johnny in s4, a bell can be heard, as if "Going the Distance" from Rocky 1 is playing.
I could be wrong, but I believe "You're The Best" by Jon Esposito was supposed to be the montage song at the start of Rocky III, but was replaced by "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
