@roxasstan Nah. Chozen and Barnes would destroy Daniel in a serious all out fight. Barnes was ALWAYS superior to Daniel. Daniel beat Barnes in a tournament setting because of the point. Outside of the tournament Barnes didn't even feel Daniel's punches and was physically superior in every way. @roxasstan why did daniel always come equal to johnny what about chozen beating daniel in every sparing match and yes terry silver is better daniel won once
If you compare KK3 Mike Barnes to the young version of Damien then Damien is approximately a year older because the movie credits said Damien:Age 18 then the actor's name and in Karate Kid the oldest allowed to compete in that age division of the All Valley are 17, So KK3 Mike Barnes (even though the actor was 22 when it was filmed) would be about a year younger than Damien was in his first scene and that is A LOT of growth, training and experience for that age group giving Damien a significant advantage. However, imagine if Mike was a year older in some alternate universe so its both of them at 18 facing each other with another YEAR of training for Mike. Even then Damien destroys him at JUST BOXING but a street fight includes kicks and other techniques and Mike is an absolute MASTER at karate.
It really pissed me off when stupid A holes kept insisting that KK1 Johnny would beat KK3 Mike. I say that KK3 Mike would beat KK2 Chozen with no more than minimal difficulty if the fight did not involve certain weapons like sword or spear since Chozen specialized in that but if its just a hands and feet fight my money would be on Mike and in their brief fight in Cobra Kai Mike actually seemed to have a small advantage as he got a really good hit into Chozen's face and he seemed stronger, gradually driving Chozen backwards with his relentlessness.
@@Zurround IKR, I would argue that Mike is possibly the strongest character in Cobra Kai CURRENTLY, not Chozen, because Chozen, after practicing and mastering martial arts his whole life, still WAS losing against a retired Mike, Mike actually was beating him, and Mike took a hit to the head by a very heavy and strong object (I forgot what it was), and he didn't even bleed, not to mention that object was swung by a master martial artist, extraordinary As for Young Barnes, lets just put it like this: KK3 Mike Barnes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>KK3 Daniel>>>>>KK2 Daniel>KK2 Chozen>>>>>KK1 Daniel=KK1 Johnny Therefore young Mike beats young Johnny and young Chozen negative diff

@@four8159 Seeing some "alternate universe" scenario where Mike is tormenting and abusing Johnny or Chozen instead of Daniel would be AWESOME. And look how POWERFULLY BUILT the middle aged version of him is. He is maybe not in as good a shape aerobically as his younger self but men hit maximum potential for physical strength in mid 20s (between 24 and 26) and despite the actor being 22 when filmed the character was only 17, so middle aged Mike is WAY STRONGER than KK3 Mike. I am kind of thinking that adult Mike is stronger than similar aged Terry Silver. Yes he is six foot 5 and pretty strong but not built like a tank the way Mike is. Mike compares to him the way Bison from the Street Fighter games compares to Sagat (Bison is stronger and does more damage overall).
I heard that when Mike Barnes was created the producers had in mind to create a white Mike Tyson. We can see that they were successful. It's a common rule in every movie/show involving martial arts that some people never noticed. Martial artists are the best fighters in the fictional world, regardless of their physical condition. Attacks that wouldn't work in real life work in movies, dodges that wouldn't work in real life also work in movies, and so on. Considering karate is a martial art very well balanced in defense, punching and kicking, and all the older Cobra Kai fighters have amazing battle iq, Mike Barnes wins.
YES and this show treats the Martial arts ability as a "super power" that is permanent once you get it, and the ability tends to match the ability of the ACTOR rather than what would be realistic for the CHARACTER. It matters not that Mike was banned from competition (though he might have trained on his own, the story does not really tell us) or that realistically all of Johnny's physical conditioning and muscle tone should have been replaced with a beer gut but because the ACTOR had kept himself in shape and trained that was what he was like.
Honestly, people have to remember that the disparity between the two verses isn't that great. On one side we have fighters at the peak of human (or even superhuman) physical capacity who can fight for several minutes without looking tired and destroy bricks, blocks of ice, wooden beams with their punches and even whole stone statues with their kicks. . Not to mention the special techniques, of course. On the other hand, I can mainly highlight the resilience and durability of the Rocky franchise fighters. All are stupidly tough and resilient, able to take beatings so severe they would make even a gorilla fall. Not to mention their energy, being able to keep fighting for over 20 minutes with 1 minute gaps to recover. It would be an extremely difficult fight, but my point goes to Damien for the simple fact that Mike was knocked out quickly in his last fight.
I think there are two reasons for this. 1) martial arts look better onscreen because they get to do more acrobatic moves (even if most of those acrobatic moves aren't utilized in real-world MA tournaments or anything and are more for exhibition). And 2) martial arts are more connected to Asian cultures, even if most countries have their own MA. It goes back to the very outdated idea that somehow Asian cultures are more spiritual and, in some realms of fiction, outright supernatural.
Miyagi would have to win because whenever there is a fictional crossover between 2 similar characters the more ICONIC one wins. Look at all of the comic book crossovers. For example if Batman fights Snake Eyes from GI Joe Batman wins and if Superman fights Homelander from The Boys Superman wins. The writers will have the more iconic character win because more people would WANT to see that so its worth more money and its showing more respect to a more iconic character. Note this only applies when there is NOT some extreme power difference. For example, unless there was a damned good plot device to justify it Batman would not win a fight against Homelander despite being more iconic due to the extreme difference in the powers of their characters. Mr. Miyagi is way more iconic so if a fictional crossover story involving them fighting ever were to happen the writers of the story would make sure Miyagi wins.
Damien won his fight easily at age 18 against that guy they made him fight but I wonder how 18 year old Damien would have done against an 18 year old version of APOLLO CREED.
