Profitec Move is going to be a gamechanger for the industry

- The slimmest dual boiler coffee machine on the market is just one of the ways the Profitec Move should disrupt the home barista market. It's Italian and German engineering and packed full of features. Let's see what it ends up costing but it could be a really affordable dual boiler too at what I expect to see about ~$2kUSD / ~$3kAUD
I don't know about you guys but this machine has got me the most excited I've been for a while! And not just about coffee machines!
What do you guys think? Is it going to deliver?
@profitecespresso Please contact me if you want me to do a deep review on this machine!
As always, enjoy your brew.

About me:
I am super passionate about coffee and educating people on all aspects of this amazing drink. I love bringing the stories back from the other side of the world about how they grow and process the coffee differently on each farm, in each region, and in each country. I also love helping baristas around the world make better coffee for themselves, whether they're at home, professional, competitors or even just venturing out into the wide world of coffee.
Great machine for sure. Looks like an improved Pro 300. I hate that teaser though.
Agree, these shallow marketing campaigns, similar to the new naming convention, are a turnoff.
Haven't used either, but i like the ascaso duo more.
This would be my upgrade to machine but was surprised by the price being just as much as the bigger machines with same features. I feel like there are better value for money options when you have a budget.
Looks almost exactly like Bellezza Bellona !! But Bellona is only less than half price of this one!!
Teaser straight from the 90’s lol I can’t wait to see more on this machine! Looks awesome
Did jaguar help with the advert????
Definitely on my radar screen! The question now is : what should I do with my Flair 58?!? 🤔
I wonder if Lelit is updating their Lelit Elizabeth Espresso Machine it been sold out in U.S. since Nov - Dec 2023 ? But what I see in the Profitec Move is it could make other dual boiler to bring there price down if the Move is going to be 2k U.S.
Profitec Move is unfortunately priced at $3999 AUD. at this price I cant imagine how it can MOVE.
yeap 1999€ EU. for comparisson Lelit Elizabeth is 1200€, Rancilio Silvia Pro X is 1499€
Makes instantly the Rancilio Silvia Pro so much more attractive
@@kostaskostas2470 Like I don't understand, Profitec Go is 880€. Only Difference between Go and Move is another boiler, heating element = 1100€ more. The profit margin % must be insane.
Yes. Definitely interested.
The only thing wrong with the pro 300 is missing pre infusion and this adds that. Can’t wait as I have the GO and this may be next on the list for me. GO is amazing too
Was looking forward to this machine but it looks like pricing in Aus is $4k ouch... might as well spend a little more and get the LMLM!
Yeh that's just egregious pricing! 🤦 Profitec 300 is $3k and that is basically what this is replacing.
Shot timer, preinfusion all the bells and whistles that are meant to make it a game changer have been on BDB for over 10 years and at a fraction of the cost!
Awesome looking machine, might get it. I seriously don't know what they were thinking with this commercial though, it screams early 2000's cringe.
$4K AUD "tell em they're dreaming"
😅 what is the deal with that price? How is it double the US price? 🤦 'Please explain...Profitec!'
@@Rydecoffeecoach So the AU resellers are pocketing 6-700$ margin. Nice payday for them.
@@Rydecoffeecoach Definitely only seen it at $4K. Might be partly because they have none in stock.
That ad is more awkward than grandmas rapping.
🤣🤣
I already called a retailer and order mine and should get it late September
Ryde, it looks like a good machine and at around $3000 AUD I’d say it could be worth it. But the Profitec Move has only one exclusive seller based in NSW and their pricing at $4k AUD is a rip off. I’m disappointed as it appears to have the features I’m looking for.
I think I’ll hold off and see what 2025 has on offer.
Yeh that's ridiculous considering the currency exchange would make it $2900. That's one downside to Australia. The upside is also that we live in Australia! 😅
Boilers too small for me, and sadly they are not stainless steel. But, this is a great entry into Profitec.
I think I have to sell my Profitec go after watching that teaser. Not to get the move, but rather bc looking at it gives me ptsd about that awful music
This looks like a great machine! I’m interested in the colored ones, blue or coral!
I love the coral but it won't suit every kitchen. A white with timber could be nice but they don't have any plans for that. 😓
Yeah I am not a fan of teasers that don't actually go into any detail. Looks really awesome, will compete very well with the Rancilio DB I reckon. It seems as though Profitec wants to kill off its number models and replace them with updated lines. Eg: This would kill off the 300 line, and the drive would replace the 600-700 I'd imagine.
Looks like a good alternative to the La Marzocco Micra, hopefully cheaper ..
nice I was just looking into espresso machines in the $1.5k range, extra $500 is nothing and this is the only product that actually looks GOOD.
Yeh I love the look too. 🙌
$3799 is the cheapest price I've seen in Australia so far. That's double the price of the Go. Not worth it IMO.
Hate the promo vid, but machine sounds great
Seems that they have great marketing team, as everyone on youtube/influencers rave about their machines.... hmmm
profitec is a solid machine made in germany. there are options with dual boiler small footprint all the move features and more. lelit has flow profiling. vbm domobar super electronic has a gear pump typically found in high end synesso, slayer, la marzocco and does manual and pre-set profiling as well and can easily change colors with magnetic side panels, cost a little more than the move.
it is made in italy
@@klaus_lightroast their website says Germany and Italy
I'm deciding between this and a Rancilio Silvia Pro X. Both the same price here in the UK (£1.3k) I would prefer to buy the Profitec Move but it's got that really small cup clearance that Profitec insist on doing and I drink a lot of Americanos and need to get a large mug under the portafilter. I tried the Profitec Go which looks like the same cup clearance as this and with a bottomless portafilter I could get my mug under it just but I could not use scales so I decided not to keep it. So I'll probably end up with the Rancilio. It's a shame because this machine looks wonderful.
I have the pro X. It’s working great. Have changed it to 4 hole tip instead of 3. Still learning how to know which baskets can be used with the double spout. Some difficulties with recipes about 20-21gr dose in.
One issue I had after a few months: escaping steam from the boiler. I had to use tape in the dread of the bolt.
Yeh that's a really common problem with newer machines. I don't understand why other than space saving but a little more clearance would be so good. You could take the tray out as there's a blind filter to catch the excess, but that's obviously not ideal.
It has my attention, and I currently own a Ascaso with the PID, and all the functionality that it brings. That coupled with the small footprint and a double boiler?? I am interested.
Hi Ryde - I am in the market for a new espresso machine (not in rush to buy but researching). Maybe you can advice me on selection so far or to wait for Profitec Move. I do live in apartment, so smaller machine(s) for me its a plus. I do prefer rotary pump over vibration pump but shouldn't be a big deal if its quite enough not to wake up neighbors. After researching for few weeks now, i did found 2 potential machines (Sanremo Cube R and Rocket Espresso Mozzafiato Evoluzione R) that i would probably consider purchasing. However, now that Profitec Move its a new machine and it looks pretty promising, what do you think it would be a good purchase. Thanks.
Oooh, all of them are a good choice so it is definitely hard to pick one for you. I have yet to deep dive on the Move but I love everything about it. I wouldn't be too worried about the noise because the grinder is going to be louder probably. If rotary is your preference then I'd probably go the Rocket but honestly you can't go wrong with any of them as they are all solid so it just comes down to personal preference (colour, shape, features etc).
Let me know what you get!
@ Thanks Ryde, I will let you know when I decide what to buy, since it's a tough choice nowadays.
peace be upon you sir
On Profitec’s website it lists the reservoir at 2.8L, not 3.8L stated in the video(?)
Oops I think I made a mistake. I meant to say 2.8L! Thanks for spotting that. 🙌👌
If the $aud4000 is true, Profitec are insane. Hopefully it’s always on sale like the Drive is.
Having a rotary pump to make it plumbed in would be perfect.
So it’s basically a Rancilio Silvia Pro X
I bought the machine despite the obnoxious video...LOL!
How are you finding it so far?
What is on paper your opinion of this machine compared to a Silvia Pro X?
Oh both are awesome. It's going to come down to personal preferences but when I do a deep dive into the Move, I'll be able to answer your question better. 👌
Probably in January I'll get a Move.
@@Rydecoffeecoach nice, I'm looking forward to that. On the other hand. Some say the Silvia's are built like a tank compared to other brands. How likely is it for the Move to be just as sturdy of a powerhouse as a Silvia?
@@soumynonareverse7807 the original Silvia has definitely proven it's reliability with some lasting 15+ years without servicing. But the pro X is new so it hasn't had a chance to show its reliability. Both Profitec and Rancilio are high quality Milan based manufacturers so I think they both are going to be sturdy. I give the edge to Rancilio but the Move will have better features.
@@Rydecoffeecoach in other words, if you're planning to do a Gaggiuino mod, you might as well get a Pro X as you'll add features anyway?
I think this is the step in the right direction a constant improvement in the design and not being caged to stick to the e61 group. Btw is this a 58 portafilter?
Price is competitive in my opinion
It doesn't say specifically but I would almost guarantee it would be 58mm portafilter. Outrage if it wasn't 😅
Its 58, spoke to a dealer who used it at WoC
@@jordenj good to know ty
Website stays heats up very fast, maybe the final product will heat up fast.
In this day and age with Breville and pod machines people just not willing to wait too long for a warm up.
I am interested in this. Funky video.not sure if I like the sound track though. But aimed at the younger generation maybe. Not a bad video.
Would be a nice choice to replace my 2011 Breville Dual Boiler (still going 95% strong). Would have been nice to have a rotary pump instead of vibration though...but more $$$
Wow! A working 2011 bdb is insane! That should be a national treasure 😅🙌
Sounds like a sidegrade… upgrade in looks and quality, but downgrade in features, and potentially in cup quality as well if you like light roasts.
I'm in the UK and it looks like this machine is going to sell for £1695. ($2200 USD). The Sage/Breville Dual Boiler goes for £1250 so £445 less than the Profitec Move. If you could afford the extra money, would you buy the more expensive machine and why?
Definetly worth the extra money. Superior built quality and reliabilty. Excellent esspresso and steam quality. It will last for years, if not decades.
I cringed so hard from that trailer video that I think I threw out my back.
Only going to be $2000 in the states.
an updated pro 300 we've been waiting for so long..
Not at AU $4K...
@@thethirdman225 agree, 4k is a no go
I was pretty dead set on getting the Profitec Go but the announcement of the Move has got me considering whether i should just save a little more and just buy once and cry once n get a machine i won’t want to upgrade for a long time. Thanks for another great video, super stoked i found this channel.
Thanks for the kind words! 🙏 I think it's worth the wait and extra $$. 🙌
Profitec needs a new marketing department and art director...
🤣 somebody getting sacked.
My first thoughts were .. that advert made me want to boycot the brand.. my god it was anoying. Got over that though. I will consider that machine when it comes time to upgrade in the next year or so.
Pre- order now for $4000 AUD. No thanks.
How does it stack up to lelit elizabeth and ascaso duo in your opinion?
I honestly can't say yet because I haven't properly had a chance to deep dive on it but when I get a unit I'll be able to tell you more. But I would buy the Move over the other two.
@@Rydecoffeecoach thanks a lot for replying. Would you choose a dual boiler over the ascaso in general? And why?
@@HeshamHafez00 if you're making multiple milk coffees daily then a dual boiler really helps speed up the workflow. However the Ascaso has dual thermoblocks so it can do that as well (although it recommends only turning on steam when you're ready to do so). At the very least the Ascaso can jump between extraction and steam instantly so there's no downside.
I guess it really comes down to what the most important things are for you. If it's looks, I like the Move and then the Duo. If it's reliability I like Profitec as a company. If you don't make multiple lattes all the time, you could easily save money and get a Go or Lelit Victoria. Breville just bought Lelit so there is that... Many people hate Breville servicing.
I guess at the end of the day I can say this, you'll never be unhappy with Profitec or ECM (Same company) but you might be with Lelit and Ascaso. 👌
You are so helpful. Thanks a lot for the info. I just wanna make sure I am not missing out. Is there any other non E61 machine in the 2k range that you would recommend?
How about Lelit Mara X o Lelit Bianca vs this Profitec? Thank you for your video😃
I hate ads like that for the Profitec Move. All fluff and zero substance.
Nice machine
Why show their sales video?
What other dual boilers have a faster heat up time?
Quite a few now. Synchronika 2, Victoria Arduino E1 Prima Pro, Meraki, Breville Dual boiler etc
At close to double the price ($3790 was the latest price I've seen) of the Profitec Go, I just don't see the value.
Should be atleast 500€ cheaper, as of now Lelit elizabeth is 800€ cheaper than profitec move, Silvia Pro X is 600 cheaper. Even Rotary pump models go for less.
Profitec lost the plot
I dont think this is worth $2K usd. You can get better looking machines with duallies FOR LESS..and you the man Ryde with that 'Miss Jackson' holla back
I'm tempted to upgrade from my GO to this
Lead singer of the newsboys ? Identical
Just because he’s bald? LOOOOL
@@3litepker the accent/ voice
I'll take it! 😅
For this price point, I still prefer the Ascaso Steel Duo PID V2
I want to love the Ascaso, but I can’t get over the intense vibration and rattling seen in so many videos, with cups moving all over on the drip tray. That’s tough to swallow for $2000. The Move is advertised as having a “low-noise” pump… I think I’m leaning towards a quieter machine that likely has better build quality over a machine with faster warm up. The Move should also steam much quicker and more quietly.
@@GraysonCarr I don't have the vibrations
Too expensive
I’m sorry but that stupid dance music video is very annoying. Scattering it throughout this video was a travesty
It was the advert, what was I meant to do, make it silent?
This is "super sexy looking" machine?!!!!!!
Just wasted 5min lifetime for simple promotion video and of course no answer to the clickbait question what makes this, yet anothet, dual boiler machine a „game changer“?
Are you being paid for this? can't see anything "game changing" and looks very ugly to me - it's like 90's simple box.
Perhaps "game changing" is a stretch but the pricing is very competitive for a DB given the assumed features. What is ugly for some can be attractive for others, I love the look of it personally.
Ok Mr. Hard-to-please.
I see no classic switch on knob but only a little power button. Now the important question is: Does it latch in the on or off position or is it a toggle switch where the controller realizese: „Button has been pushed, I need to change my state from off to on or from on to off“ like e.g. a computer power button works.
If it is the second alternative, this machine cannot be powered on by a timed power socket and is out of consideration at once.
The ad is terrible. Makes me not want to buy it. Ruins the Profitec brand with some w0ke sh*t
A "game changer" with zero innovative features and priced above its peers? I think not.
Where dual boiler that’s at 2k usd?
