    way back in 2021 i saw both 890 and 790 dyno and only saw the 890 to be 3hp above at peak over the 790 it wasn't a huge gap fast forward to 2023 looks like they worked on the 890 engine and made gains by increasing the peak by 10hp ans 5 lb ft torque over the 790, but i think the 790 is still the one to pick given that it was offered by cf moto and being applied to more bikes that makes it more reliable than the 890 and also more cheaper, 790 power plant is already powerful enough you wont even feel the power difference in real world usage

    Just bought the 790 Adventure recently, brakes are shocking, and no self. cancelling indicators which I find very 1970's. Nice bike, but if you're gonna go for the 790, then stopping power and safety won't be top of your list. Wake up KTM. BRAKES AND SELF CANCELLING INDICATORS. Might help keep us alive.

    Hey there! Thanks for the vid. Did you mention weight? I think the 790 is 199kg dry, but the 890 is 210 wet.

      Hello @Nektarios Banushi, you are right that are indeed the weights per bike we can find as well. For the KTM 790 ADVENTURE only the dry weight (199 KG) is mentioned and for the 890 ADVENTURE the wet weight of 210 KG.

      @Peter Pok, in the press release of the KTM 790 ADVENTURE they mentioned that the 790 has a lot of similarities with the 890 ADV and 890 ADV R. I will put the text below so you can read it, hope it helps! 😀👍
      PRESS RELEASE TEXT REGARDING ELECTRONICS:
      "The bike also benefits from the latest 6D sensor, otherwise known as the Inertia Management Unit, that can be found on larger KTM siblings like the KTM 890 ADVENTURE and KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE models. This sophisticated device informs the Cornering Motorcycle Traction Control and other aspects such as ABS, Motor Slip Regulation and the administration of Ride Modes. In terms of features the KTM 790 ADVENTURE holds very similar billing to its larger sibling: the KTM 890 ADVENTURE. ABS programs now automatically switch between the Ride Modes, removing the need for more configuration. KTM has installed an innovative ‘DEMO’ function on the 2023 KTM 790 ADVENTURE; owners can trial the full slew of optional riding extras for the first 1,500 km before deciding which settings they’d like to purchase and keep."

    So first they had the 790. Then they discontinued it and came out with the 890. Now they have both. WTF???

    Just did a test ride on the 890 and loved it. Then the salesman told me about the new 790 coming in which not only is cheaper to buy they have a really good finance deal. 3.9% apr against 5.09% apr. I’m so confused. The specs are slightly different 10 more HP to name a few. The difference in price after deposit is nearly £3000. Will the adjustable suspension make a difference on the road and off road and will I miss the extra power when on road. Can’t work out if it’s worth paying the extra

      The price difference mainly comes from the engine block: CF moto has purchased this block from KTM and uses it in both its own models and ktm790. If you are mainly tarmac rider 790 will be a perfect deal.

      The spring preload adjuster on the 890 ADVENTURE can be convenient when you are regularly riding with and without luggage and/or a passenger.
      Adjusting the rebound and compression adjusters on the front fork is especially useful for riders who are also riding offroad trails and therefore want to adjust their suspension depending on the type of terrain. The most demanding riders will choose the 890 ADVENTURE "R" because of the adjustable WP Xplor suspension.
      Depending on your level of riding the 790 ADVENTURE will have enough power and you will not "miss" the 10 HP of the 890, until you test drive a 890 probably. 😉 The difference in price is quite interesting so the 790 will be a great choice for many riders.
      Just try to sum up what kind of rider you are (mostly driving alone or with a passenger, 50% tarmac and 50% offroad trails or only tarmac) and base you choice on that. Eventually you can take the color in consideration, both models are available in black but white only on the 790 and orange only on the 890.
      Hope you will be able to make a choice, you will have fun with both bikes that is for sure! 😃💪

    Kind of smells like KTM are focussed on the 890 Adventure being made with loving care ‘in house’ in Australia, while they have a ‘licensing’ arrangement with CF Moto (China) to produce the 790 Adventure for the ‘masses’, a bit like McDonald burgers really.

      Thanks for your reaction. You mean that there also was a KTM 790 ADVENTURE R model before? You are right but in this video we compared the KTM 790 ADVENTURE with the KTM 890 ADVENTURE which are both available as new motorcycles at the moment.

      @Gennaro Auricchio, most manufacturers do not mention the top speeds of their bikes so that is why it is not mentioned in the video. On RUclips you can see some people trying to reach the top speed with their motorcycles but maybe not exactly these 2023 bikes in the comparison. Previous models can reach at least 200 - 205 km/h but it might be more depending on tires and settings. Anyway these top speeds are not the most important (and fun) for these Adventure models in my opinion. 😃

    Estuve una pueba ayer KTM 890 Adventure fatal !!!!! Sigue ruido de molesto ! Estuve probando también la Yamaha tenere sin ruido espectacular tiene 74 cv como hoy en día no se puede correr ! Ktm Torá muy bien pero el ruido sigue molesto y nse si es la cadena o eje o motor !

      To be fair... Many high quality brands produce in China. Even if the lable at the end says made in ...
      The parts are mostly from far East.
      I also dont think China produce bad things only.
      We all know that the old 790 and even the 890 have some strange quality issues.
      That's why I think the 790 is a very fair price for all the electronic you can get if you compare to t7.
      The base price is not too far away anymore.
