I found this bootleg 2 years ago. I edited it, cut into songs, make sound processing and equalization. So, enjoy this incredible Midnight performance. That's history.
It always pisses me off how everyone lauds Geoff Tate as the greatest singer but Midnight always gets lost in the cracks- a lot of people either dont know or fail to realise they both had the same vocal coach. Midnight also had a wider range. I love Queensryche (at least until Geoff had his meltodwn and I lost all respect for him) but fuck's sake, Midnight never got the credit he so rightfully deserved. Thanks for uploading this. This is golden! 🤘🏻
If it's possible to say who the best vocalist of the '80s was - considering there were so many amazing singers - you'd be hard pressed to beat Midnight, as far as having range, emotive capacities and phrasing. Dude was fucking incredible. A shame he was so troubled in his personal life. R.I.P., sir...
Such souls are very vulnurable to the outer world and resort to drugs and alcohol and perish. Angel can't stay for long in this hatred world. He came here, left to us his presence and came back to the valhalla.
Really cool live version! One year before I was born... Wish I could've been there. Azrael might even be my favorite CG song. Or one out of top 5. Or top 10 because honestly it's so hard to choose
+hobbsey1 Was this a headline tour in 1987 or a support slot. I saw them in 1989 on the Transcendance tour and was a huge fan from their debut record, but they never played anywhere local to me. (up north)
hobbsey1 Wow what a liine up, loved Metal Church back then. I saw Crimson Glory headlining with Slammer supporting. The PA blew when Mid started singing, they had to go off until it was fixed, so I got to meet them. What a shame Midnight passed away some of his solo stuff was pretty good.
@@Thirdfish My boss wouldn't give me the night off when they played in Boston on the Transcendence tour. I tried to get people to switch shifts with me but nobody would. I was pissed. A buddy of mine went and said they were using a compressor on Mid's voice he was so loud, awesome show.🤘🏻 Yeah, rub it in LOL! I wished I had been there. Midnight was a helluva guy. Got to talk with him a couple times round '05. I miss him, hell, I miss the original CG lineup.
@@Coasterdude02149 The capacity of the venue I saw them in was only 800 it wasn't full by any means but very memorable. Yeah his voice blew the PA system so i guess the compressor came after that show lol. We got talking over the net a few years before his death about me doing some artwork for a final solo future release but sadly that never materialised. RIP Mid, never forgotten. \m/
thanks for the reply. its sounds so good! any chance one day you could upload some more? no worries if not , cos this is already great. the whole show must be something else!!
Tate has a more pleasant tone. Midnight has a higher range, more drive and aggressive voice, but tone is what separate a remarkable singer from a technical vocalist. I could listen Tate for hours…
When the live version rocks more than the studio you know you are in the presence of great musicians
You hit the nail on the head with that comment.
Midnight sounds amazing on this recording!
His high notes are insane 🤯
I was there that night .first time I'd heard crimson glory. They were amazing and I've been Into them ever since.
Extraterrestrial voice
you have been my best singer since the first moment i heard you sing.i miss you midnight
If I sang, I would want to song like Midnight. It's impossibly surreal.

Too hard to choose right? Valhalla, heart of steel, lost reflection, mayday oh and then queen of the masquerade. Just too many great songs
Midnight rules.
The word awesome is too poor to describe the feeling midnight shared. Very good job with the video my friend.

+Tirdfish I saw them on their deputy album tour supporting Anthrax and Metal Church at Hammersmith.

What a great song!

WOW. RIP Midnight.
Another great band that is largely forgotten. And though Queensryche was good, Crimson Glory was awesome.
Powerful song.
Awesome!

Sounds like Geff Tate.Pretty fuckin good.
Back in the mid 80s when it was rumored Geoff Tate was the singer and wore the mask to hide his identity
@FatalPies FatalPies what do you think of that?
Does anyone have the full bootleg of all the songs from crimson glory’s performance

@FatalPies Midnight rules but not too sure about that if you're talking about 80s Tate Both are beyond awesome
What the f guys
