On my 220 conibear I use bread wrapper ties in that space, between the trigger and the bar that is holding it onto. It tightens it up a little, but it does affect the performance of the trap.
Back in the day they were good traps . Then sold out to china. Way the jaws bend way they do. Cheaper metal. Cheaply made all the way around. . Night and day compared from the old ones to the new ones. My 330s are 40 or so years old. Only thing I've had to do is replace the triggers couple times . The new ones . Can't hold a 70 pound beaver hardly. It's sad. Butt way I use belisle now . Thanks for the tip buddy.
You can also use a chain saw file (round file) and file the half circle slots deeper on the dog.

Been thinking about how to fix that on my new 330 Bridgers . Thanks for the tip 👍🏻
