We just put a track on my dads cousins 1994 Xcr white 440 and that was a pain 🤣😂😂 and the sled didn’t have a mark on it until we were done and he knocked a dart board down and made a mark 🤣😂😂
Love it !... and a 2012 and up with seat works awesome ... mods must be done to fit... but the ride is like a new sled. Got 2 ultra's a 144 and a rmk both 96... it's a different ride!...the tank works to... from the newer sleds!
I have a original 96 Ultra SP! Only 1400 original miles! Very nice to see one on the channel. That exhaust canister is not original, they came with an even bigger, uglier, heavier suitcase than just about any other sled! Lol, mine still has it including the wire that runs to the exhaust tip. The expansion chamber is also the pre-updated one without the double brace in the first bend. That is a very original sled though! I also really like the looks of the Ultra SP in particular. They really rip when you have a set of SLP or PSI triples on them with some good heads and a set of v-force reeds as well. A true 120 mph sled. Mine is a short track, so doesn't have quite as much track to rotate. 👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️🙂🙂🙂🙂
AKproXR - I ordered / snow checked a new 96 Ultra SP when they came out. Loved the sled. I wish I would have put on a set of pipes though. From what I remember the Ultra had the biggest gain in HP from a set of pipes on any of the Polaris sleds.
Adding triple pipes to the 96 ultra it adds about 30 hp believe it or not 😮 my dads friend is a big polaris guy loves his triple and he told me all about the 96 ultra he has
@@drakeoldenburg2697 - Yep it was 30 or 35. Hard to recall 100% that was a lot of years ago. Was going to put them on mine but never did. Several different brands made them.
The RMK came with high elevation heads. Be wary on elevation and fuel if the heads for sure are the K stamp. Someone did great by adding the Fox gas shocks at least up front. If you have any questions shoot me a PM on FB and I'll gladly help out!
My grandfather has the same sled but not an rmk mint with reverse an not a mark on it with just a minor issue with the tachometer which is a simple fix and working hand warmers
I have to admit, i got excited when i saw a ultra. My brother in law had a 96 ultra. Ive been on many big sleds in my many years of snowmachines. That ultra to this day is the fastest snow go I've ever been on. On speedo i hit 115mph and had a scoach more to go. Im still waiting for you to land a 800 xcr. Be sure to fix that one my friend.
That can is aftermarket, the factory one is huge. any pre-CFI liberty clutch/liquid cooled fuji should have the right clutch taper/size, but early big block clutches have a strange bolt that I believe has a different thread than the Fuji's
Nice triples are awesome I have a old skidoo formula 3 700 but that's a good looking ultra also try to get triple pipes they sound way better trust me it makes them the national anthem of snowmoble s
@@MADKIWI I live thousands of miles away and Canada separates us (assuming they are in the lower 48) it’s quite the hassle and expensive to make the trip

Awesome sled, i just picked up a 96 ultra rmk, but its a lot uglier. What's the stock secondary spring on the 96 ultra rmk? The manual list stock setups, but doesn't mention the spring color for any 96 models. I've been trying to get mine right, and right now I know the clutching is off...
OK, here's some of the things I've learned so far: -rmk's have higher compression heads stock, "should" be swapped if running below 6000ft. -96 ultras have a separately oiled water pump, takes 50cc of 0w-40 motor oil. Good luck, can't wait to see more of thing
You need to find a formula 3 600 for I can learn some stuff about it. I have 1 and I'm 15 just got into snowmobiles and need to learn some stuff about them. I cant find much info about them so need some help. If anyone can help I would appreciate it thanks.

About time you get a triple
What do you mean 😂 I had a ultra AND a rxl 650 last winter
1200 miles ? ... best looking sled you scooped so far
Funny when Bobby (white polaris) forgets to sandbag and pulls on everyone then remembers.

do you know what secondary spring came stock on the 96 ultra rmk?

great video nice sled I had one of those too
It is about time let that triple sing!
I'm 14 and picked up a running storm 800 for 250 bucks the other day, love the videos
$250 how
That thing is so clean I love the sound of those old triples I have a xlt and it sounds awesome it is super reliable.
Nice like it bro 😊

THAT ULTRA!!!
Got a matching elkholm ski if you want it? Plus a crap load of stock parts, chains and gears, jugs heads and pistons.....
Nice rmk! I had one new back in 97. One thing I failed to realize was they had higher compression heads and I smoked it twice. I ride at 950 ft.
Triple piped are the SP's
Lmao no. No wedge Ultras were available to the public triple piped from Polaris.

I bet the water pump is locked, this came with nikasil cylinders so it maybe the pump or the crank.
Put some slps with stingers. You seen todd clynes channel by the way? Hes doin all 90s polaris tripples lately!
Slp’s are about the least HP producing pipes made for ultra’s. Pretty much any other brand is better for these specific engines
