  • My latest 36"x48" "The Body of Christ" Cross. This was all done with a propane torch and a 4 1/2" angle grinder on 18 Ga. cold roll steel. There is no paint on this piece. All the colors you see were rendered out of the metal at different temps. Afterward, I clear-coated it with a high-grade automotive clearcoat.

Thank you for the content! Pieces look great! I'm dabbling with metal art myself, although I've worked with wood for the better part of 28 years. Would love to see more content from you.

Thank you. There are not many of us out there doing this. And no one else shows you the whole process.

So beautiful! The light effects are truly amazing and fitting to this work of yours! I also do some flame painting on my metal work. I was wondering if you apply a finishing, like varnish or wax. Looking for a way to preserve the pieces without compromising the beautiful colours.
Thank you so much! Have a good day.

The cross is totally awesome. Wow what a great job and yes Jesus lead you through the whole thing to make this beautiful sculpture. I was wondering I’ve seen your other videos but I was wondering have you done the one on painting yet? Is it done by airbrush or inks? I’m trying to give this a shot and see what happens. Is there a best place to buy the sheet metal or sheets of stainless steel or aluminum? Thanks a lot for everything and praise God.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I did the one video where I'm flame painting with a propane torch. None of these have paint or ink on them. I have done some with House of Kolor Kandy apple paint. It is a 3-stage paint that you have to use an airbrush or spray gun with a compressor. Kinda tricky at first to work with, but a beautiful finished product. I'll try to post a video of that from the art show I'm going to be in this weekend in Downtown Dallas. As far as the metal is concerned, I use 18 gauge cold rolled steel AKA carbon steel. I buy it from a company in Downtown Dallas called Davis metal stamping. You can pick up the propane torch burner from Harbor Freight for $29. It works perfectly. Start with a slow Heat and be patient with the metal and you will get more vibrant colors out of the metal if you do. Thanks again and have a great day.

wow that's amazing and inspiring. so if I were to guess, you torched the material first, then put the mini cross and big cross then the waves last?
