  • We spent the day prospecting for gold, and finally found something worth digging that evening. It was the richest ground of the entire trip so far!
    Full video from prospecting, to mining, to a cleanup and a gold weight.
    Thanks for watching!

    This tape demonstrates the fallacy that one highbanker is better than another.
    Each highbanker needs to be tuned in for the conditions.
    I would like to see you in a future tape , show how you overcome your plant matter issue.

      Suggestions of a fix may help . What would a solution be for a retro fit for this condition Without a major design change ? Input is always welcome . Send your thoughts to Kyle . I will

      @@bartbley1269 I have not managed to overcome similar issue with my trommel.
      A dedicated organics remover seems to be needed prior to material entering the highbanker.

    Good Job!
    I notice your running the expanded metal in your hopper the same way as the expanded metal in the sluice. Have you tried reversing the expanded metal in the hopper ?

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  Год назад

      Hey, currently the hopper expanded is flat, not raised expanded. So it's the same either way. I'm actually planning on an interesting upgrade to see if I can keep the durable steel flat stuff where the shovels hit, but use a more aggresive raised expanded for 6" before it hits the screen as a nugget trap. Hope it works, I'll keep you updated with the test results in a future video.

    THAT is a nice pile of gold!👍😃
    It is interesting that you said the gold was in the top surface of the bank. It isn't worth it to try digging deeper? The flour always stays on top I guess?

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  Год назад +1

      Thanks! Yeah, The gold is so small, that at the water speed it concentrates at, the water only moves the top few inches of material and the gold kind of settles into that layer like it was the surface of a sluice box.

    You had in a former video the answer for the organics with a rod grizzly . With a easy sweep of the shovel to rid the rods of organics. In the time of need one can have an insert similar over the existing screen or just switch out the mesh screen with the rod option. It looks thought that these organics are smaller than in the other video .They even seemed to get past the mesh screen one would have to just experiment

    At 7:59 you said "can't see any other stars yet" after showing us Venus. I hate to be the nitpicking guy but... you see my autimsm won't stop me from being FORCED to tell you Venus is a planet and not a star. The shiny orange thing (the sun) is a star... If you had skipped the word "other" then your sentence would be correct. But as I said, I'm not your astronomy teacher - just a guy with problems, a LOT of problems since there are so many youtube vidoes that needs commenting.

    I have a hard time believing 2.8g in 2hr. I’ve got 10grams from 8 years out there. I really have to find your spots.

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  4 месяца назад +1

      You SHOULD have a hard time believing that. I always took the rumors and legends of gold like this with a grain of salt until I started finding them. I guess a few things to put it into perspective, it takes much more than two hours to find a location in the first place, and after the small but concentrated paystreak has been dug out, it's not like we can continue finding gold that good for the rest of the day. It it very cool to see that there IS really profitable ground still out there and so close to home.
      I've spent many many days out on the river finding nothing...
