Punk and Rap were created at the same time in the same place - NYC. Punk started pretty much in 1974, not much longer Hip Hop and rap were growing up around NYC the same time. Remember the huge explosion of hip hop after the 77 blackout in NYC. A lot of the early people into hip hop - the Beastie Boys and such were also punk at first.
Aw hell yeah, this band was the go-to way back in the day when we were training in the gym. By the way, you asked about the time frame, this was from 1992, and ended up being THE most played video in the history of MTV's Headbangers Ball. These dudes were Brooklyn to their core. Y'all just got my interest rekindled and I'm getting ready to dig out some CD's. \,,/
Biohazard got started in the early 90s and are still one of my favorite bands. I really loved their metal sound with hip hop sensibilities. I wouldn't quite go full rap/rock like RATM because he sang more than MC'd on a lot of their tracks. They are also good friends with the rap group Onyx if you remember them. Over the course of their career you can hear them getting together with the rappers from Onyx and they did a track with Sen Dog from Cypress Hill.
I'm assuming this was recommended because I'm a big biohazaed fan. Never saw this channel before, but love the fact it was an open-minded review. The fact that you enjoyed it is even cooler.
Teacher: Jay, did you read Fiddler on the Roof? Jay: Yes Ma'am! Teacher: And what was it about? Jay: Well, you see, there's this fiddler.....and he's up on the roof. Then Steph comes in to break it all down like it ain't no thang! Great reaction guys! Shades of Grey by Biohazzard is another good one.
As a guitar player from this era, I appreciate your attention. Interesting that although I was in the guitar world, biohazard got by me until recently. Thanks guys
Biohazard took the best of several genres and fused them into a hardcore format that kicks ass still to this day. I heard Slayer, Anthrax, Beastie Boys, and punk music influences all rolled into one on this track. I also remember watching this on MTv back when they actually showed music videos before all that reality tv bullshit took over the network. Peace
Biohazard with Onyx doing Onyx's Slam, they did another with them called Judgement Night from a movie called Judgement Night. Also on that soundtrack, you have Ice-T & Slayer doing a song called Disorder.
Yeah I had to tune in when I saw biohazard. Always smoking one long weekend just gives me a reason to stay liyt the whle weekend .Im gonna be making a pork butt in the smoker about 15hrs worth its the bzomb..yall have a great holiday .stay blessed!
Another reason I hate that metal gets painted with its brush. I was a street kid and I loved Biohazard. I was the one white kid in NW Minneapolis. This was the only band with whom I identified.
💚 you guys!! I was 15 when this came out... Tampa Fl wearing plaid polos, jeans and tims AND BOIHAZARD blasting in my car, school parkinglot after school was party time!! Love your energy on giving this song a chance!! You guys rock!! Hit that Onyx Judgement Night joint! Evan the biohazard singer always sang about life struggles and how there is wrong and right good and evil.
Biohazard definitely had that rap/metal feel to some of their music. They did a couple of songs with the rap group Onyx, and they were pretty good. They let the rappers from Onyx do the rapping, and Biohazard just provided the guitars and some well timed screams. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/DZdW32LgBDc/видео.html
nice video guys:) the song is from 1994 the theme of the song is about a film from the late 80's" the punisher" a story about a man, ex cop, that his wife and 2 daughters murdered by mafia so he decided to go on killing spree and kill all criminals "doing god's work" you can hear lines from the movie at the start of the video and at the end.. In conclusion, this song is about the good and bad in people and god
This song always gets me pumped. If the intro itself doesn't make you bang your head, you're not doing it right. Great song choice. You should check out another song of theirs called tales from the hard side or 5 blocks to the subway.
Off topic, but just wanted to point out I think someone is watching over you two. Look between your heads at 0:27. Nothing to worry about, probably a good spirit.
The vocalist/bassist of biohazard once work as a pizza delivery guy as part time work b4, quiting and focus more on the bands recording and touring....
In my opinion, I think the URBAN DISCIPLINE album Biohazard put out I 1992 was the first rap metal album. They definitely influenced a lot of bands who were Nu Metal
This needs more upvotes. Isis with chino from deftones. Amazingly blissful album. Then isis need to be reacted too, some old man gloom and finally some sumac. Regress through the lot, human with palms back to cro magnon by the point you get to sumac. Deevolution trip😀
matthew godding Thanks bro. People just haven’t caught up to our taste in literally the best music ever. I almost feel bad for them. Chino and Isis together is like the most unbelievable combination ever. As a die hard fan of both the Deftones and Isis, this album was a dream. I can only hope they drop another album after the new Deftones drops. It’s been far too long, but as we both know Chino is always busy with his side projects.
Thank you!!!! Yes early 90s and pre rage. More like agnostic front and the New York hardcore scene. This band changed my life when I was a teenager You guys are the best!!!!!!! Subscriber 4eva
"hip hop meets hardcore" is actually just NEW YORK HARDCORE. But it's not rap metal.bands like limp bizkit and Korn are rap metal.their lyrical content is offensive and demeaning towards women and glamorizing drug use and violence. Hardcore and NEW YORK HARDCORE lyrics speak of good morals, unity, community, respect ,friendship and reality which can sometimes be violent yes but not necessarily as a glorification.
Yes punishment for all my sins I repent. He was talking about doin right now. But having a rough life in Brooklyn now he's paying for his sins. Very insiteful. I have been a biohazard fan for 20 years and your comments definitely made me see that song a little different. That's what's cool about first time reaction videos.
Watch the video for Slam by Onyx and you'll see the guys from Biohazard in the video. Biohazard would likely be considered Hardcore Metal. You mentioned Rage Against the Machine, the singer Zach was in a hardcore band prior, called Inside Out..
I think what he is saying when he said he is positive, is that he was bad then changed to be a more positive and good person. Still, will his sins be forgiven in the end? As well, if you’re good or bad in this life you still get punished by life.
What ???? HIV ??? Damn I see it WAY different lol ! Its all good though . Metal is cool like that . Its open to interpret how you see it . Just like Hip Hop or any art form .
I remember listening to them in the 90s. Rap Metal was kind of cool back then, with Suicidal Tendencies, Biohazard, Body Count and others... this was before some morons invented Nu metal and turned it into the worst metal genre ever.
Finally someone does Biohazard. My favorite group. Thank you
Finally..
This is NY hardcore. Back when Brooklyn was still great.
NYHC at its height, YES.
Based more on New York hardcore. Roots are punk. Punk and rap have a simular vibe.
Punk, rap, blues, metal, they're all different flavours of folk music. It's why they can be mixed pretty well: they have same base spirit.
@@matthewgodding777 True,true.
Nah rap is gay

Not as gay as Avenged Sevenfold and Blink 182 that you probably like.

Biohazard and Onyx-Judgement night
Great song 🤘
This is Hardcore New York, biohazard is the roots of the violent mosh Hardcore, one of the most brutal old school band of the scene 🔥
Love Biohazard! But the whole rap metal vibe was not created by Rage, Limp or them. It was created by SUICIDAL TENDENCIES!
WELCOME TO NEW YORK!!!!!! Biohazard, Onyx, Anthrax. Public Enemy, Type O Negative, Life Of Agony, Billy Joel (WHAT!) Best welcome ever! Peace!

They actually started in 1988 and have a demo out from that year
I can’t stop the urge of moshing whenever punishment starts, biohazard is the shit!
@LaRetaVG I've been back through their catalog at work this week, still love 'em.
I'm assuming this was recommended because I'm a big biohazaed fan. Never saw this channel before, but love the fact it was an open-minded review. The fact that you enjoyed it is even cooler.

You made me literally LOL.
Kristin Dee Yeah,... I made a funny. Glad to see a literal lol for a change! Keep on laughing! 😁
As a guitar player from this era, I appreciate your attention. Interesting that although I was in the guitar world, biohazard got by me until recently. Thanks guys
Some biohazard huh? haven’t heard that banned in a while excellent choice for a reaction!
A reaction without a drink, yeah you are dedicated
I was a freshman when this came out. I played the shit out of this album. Still sounds good to this day.... Nice video!
Biohazard took the best of several genres and fused them into a hardcore format that kicks ass still to this day. Never got into Biohazard- cool discovering this with you. Awesome guitar!

Evan the biohazard singer always sang about life struggles and how there is wrong and right good and evil.
Evan Seinfeld the singer with the deeper voice was actually on the old HBO series "OZ" one of the bikers
Biohazard was where it all started for the city representation of metal which changed it forever. But it’s where it all started with Black Sabbath too
Thank you for this great reaction to a badass band!🤘🏻👍🏻

So many NYHC legends in that video.

New York hardcore
Early 90's
Good old rivalry NY hardcore vs LA hardcore, good times...
Fun Fact: The beginning speech was actually from the 1990 movie "The Punisher" starting Dolph Lundgren.
The vocalist/bassist of biohazard once work as a pizza delivery guy as part time work b4, quiting and focus more on the bands recording and touring....
DEMON HUNTER - THE NEGATIVE!! Yall will not be disappointed 💯🔥

What you were saying about nine minutes in. I think you hit the nail on the head... pushing into that cross to bear
I saw Biohazard support Slayer in Australia back in '94.
YESSSSS
Lead guy was married to a gorgeous adult film producer , last I saw.
If you liked that, check out Biohazard with Onyx- Let the boys be boys.
Please checkout Biohazard :Shades of grey video. ☣️🔥
Are you guys ever going to watch comedy clips? Anything from Bill Burr would be great to start with (unless you've seen his stuff already).

New York hardcore , early 90’s.
This song is from 1992 \m/ ...Greetings from Germany
NYHC didn't matter what race you were you were all in the same struggle.
