Thanks for your comments Val. Glad the project went well for you. Regards, Josh@Smartseal
You are the best I have been watching 😊
Thank you very much Angela! Regards, Andrew@Smartseal
Brilliant. I'm just about to buy a property with loads of slabs all in need of a makeover. I'll save this and buy some once I move
Thanks Joanna, it should do a great job and samples of the various colours are available for you to try. Regards, Jake@Smartseal
Videos like this are invaluable to a DIYer like myself in that I'm contemplating sealing my 25 year old slabs. It was well described and demonstrated and I'm very grateful to the guy (couldn't find your name) who did the demo. Well done, now I'll get on with it.
Thanks for your comments Mac, much appreciated, it was Nigel Blake in the video. Hope the job goes well, if you need further advice, please get in touch. Regards, Alex@Smartseal
Was thinking of using on bungalow concrete floor that's looks like it's been recently "skimmed" as quite smooth and clean. The idea is to use large rugs over floors. If ok ,could you add wax finish over the sealer to add sheen? I understand about product fumes but it's an empty property
Hello Kevin, the product would leave a sheen after a couple of coats and would certainly give a high level of protection. We would suggest trying a sample 1st (available through website) hope that helps. Josh@Smartseal
Hi my patio has a brick edging, will this product be effective on the regular brick edging?
If you are referring to house bricks used for the edging or block paving Jonathan, yes it will. Hope that helps. Nigel@Smartseal
Hi. Are there any issues repointing AFTER applying this sealer? I’m looking to use Sika jointing compound. Many thanks.
Hello Ryan, pointing after applying the sealer will not be a problem. Hope that helps, Regards, Alex@Smartseal
Can you use a spray gun to put paint seal down my patio is sandstone so flags aren’t even. Thinking a roller an easy job as shown here. Thanks
Hi there, using a sprayer is not recommended at all for coloured sealant. It is possible to spray clear sealer.
You'd want to seal your sandstone with a natural stone sealer, would you like us to link you a few options?
Many thanks,
Josh@Smartseal
Wonderful work! I want to paint my paving slabs. Should I re-point before or after painting? Thank you.
Hi there, we would suggest re-pointing before sealing to ensure protection and better coverage. 🏠
@@SmartsealUk Thank you.
I am wondering if this will work on a flagstone walkway. Thanks!
If the flagstone are made from concrete, I am sure the coloured patio slab sealer will work very well. Hope that helps. Josh@smartseal
Can this product in video be used on a driveway, safe to park a car on?
Hello Dean, thanks for your question. What type of surface is your driveway made from? Regards, Josh@Smartseal Support
I'm just wondering how these slabs look a couple of months after been painted ? we've painted our slabs last year using Everest sealer (similar colour) and they look terrible... they need to be cleaned and painted again..
Hello Aneta, Sorry to hear about your experience with another company's product. We would suggest to keep a patio in optimum condition after this sealer has been applied, a top up coat every 3-5 years is to be expected. Before applying any more product, we would advise contacting the company that supplied it. If they cannot help, please feel free to contact us via our website. Hope that helps, Regards, Josh@Smartseal
@SmartsealUk this looks and sounds good. Nit much fuss either except a clean. If lasts about 4 years great. But one or two years no. Get new.
The nature of the chemicals in the sealer and its viscosity mean it cannot be applied by a spray gun. Hope that helps. Rick@Smartseal
I have a few questions, as this is something my mum wants done to her old patio after its been re-levelled, the joints done again, and cleaned as best it can due to black spot. Do you also sell the anti slip stuff? How do you go about cleaning the patio during the year as she has a dog who gets very muddy paws in rainy months. And does your company seal for the customer or is it strictly do it at home yourself and how much would it cost on average for a patio maybe this size in the video or slightly bigger?
@@gentleoutdoors Hello , thanks for getting in touch. To allow the sealer to adhere correctly, It is important all the black spot is removed. If the surface is very smooth, an anti slip additive can be mixed with the product. You can wash the patio normally after applying the product. If you visit our website - www.smartseal.co.uk you can arrange for an contractor (not employed by smartseal) to give you a quote. Hope that helps, Josh@Smartseal
Can this product be used on kitchen tiles? I'm looking for a heavy duty exterior look, but afraid about adhesion. They're currently old terrazzo tiles.
It should be ok, but we would recommend trying a sample 1st to test the adhesion(available through our website) Also please be aware, because this product is solvent based, it is very smelly. Hope that helps, Josh@Smartseal
What if the gaps are not narrow?. how would you advise to fill them?
We would suggest repairing with either a sand and cement mix. Or some form of 'sweep in' pointing compound. Any variations of colour in the pointing would be masked by the coloured patio sealer. Hope that helps. Josh@Smartseal
hello, will the surface become slippery during the winter ? the paint seems to create a shiny surface which could become slippery during the winter?
Most concrete patio slabs have a textured finish to help with slip resistance, this should not be adversely affected by two coats of the sealer. If the paving is smooth, a anti-slip additive can be added to the product. Hope that helps. Jake@Smartseal
@@SmartsealUk Hello, thank you for the reply. Is there any company or service based in London that can help do this driveway paint service?
@@user-ky3dg3nc4x yes, if you make an enquiry via contactus@smartseal.co.uk we can put a registered agent in touch with you. Regards, Josh
Can I put this over the top
Of my black resin paint I have already painted last year which is flaking off
Hello Alan, the existing paint would need to be removed before the Patio Colour Seal could be applied. Regards, Josh@Smartseal
@@SmartsealUk thanks for replying 👍🏻
@@alanbarton4793 The issue is Alan, the new product will only adhere to the old, and if the original paint is peeling, it is likely to keep happening. I would suggest buying a sample and trying it on an area where the existing paint has already been removed. Regards, Nigel@Smartseal
@@SmartsealUk thanks for that 👍🏻
Is that a permament sealer which will not come off ?
Can this be used on Indian sandstone?
It should be ok, but we would suggest ordering a sample (available from our website) to check that the sealer can adhere correctly to the Sandstone. Hope that Helps. Josh@Smartseal
Is this product available in Ireland and in different colours ?
The product is available in Ireland Robert via our website www.smartseal.ie there are currently 4 colours available. Regards, Josh@Smartseal
Hi. How slippery it is after application of the paint?
Hello Shameek, if the sealer is applied in the correct amounts, the texture of the surface should hardly change. If you are concerned about slipperiness an anti slip additive could be added to the sealer. Hope that helps. Jake@Smartseal
Ive looked ive watched, ive checked sitea and I see grey, more grey, black or red. It does not tell you much other than it creates a coating. Where do you get info on colours
Hello Kevin, there are product specification and application documents next to each product- www.smartseal.co.uk/sealers/block-paving-sealer/block-magic-dark-grey.htm If you still have questions. Please call us on 01268 722500 Thanks. Josh'Smartseal
These are stocked at B&Q
Hi,
Could this product be used on a concrete garage floor?
Looking for an alternative to paint.
Yes, it could be used for this purpose. But any existing paint or sealer would need to be removed prior to application. Hope that helps George@Smartseal
