This is the exact way I made adult women friends, from bookclub. I went on friend dates!! It really is like a date, having and keeping good friends is a relationship that you have to maintain. Eventually, I invited everyone to my place and now we take turns hanging out at each other's places. I had to make that first move 😅

I went on the app meet up and joined a book club locally to me - I do recommend finding groups with specific interests that align to you because sometimes by joining just a big social gathering one you could get a vast mix of people and it can be a little challenging to connect initially or sometimes people can be cliquey in those. But I would say join 1-2 and see what happens and try a diff group if one doesn’t seem to be working. 🥰❤️
