Having spent some time in a museum conservation room I can assure you that this is exactly how it is. The focus and attention to the tiniest detail which is often incredibly fragile requires total singular attention. It is always very quiet as everyone is so focused on their own work and not destroying a (sometimes) priceless piece of art.

What I admire most about this entire process is that we as the audience wouldn’t pay much attention or even be able to see little imperfections such as these on the pieces put up for display, and yet to think there are many conservators out there, working hard to make them look beautiful again, out of love for the piece itself but also for the enjoyment of the audience. It is honestly really touching to me and makes me respect these artists so much more, for what it takes to make beautiful clothes like this, and also the effort to restore and care for them over the years. 💖

I learn from these videos! I find beautiful dresses only once in a while where there are just a few spots to fix like this. It’s so important to me to learn as much as I can! It works on purses too! Saving a beautiful piece of art and using it makes it all worthwhile! 💗

Let's talk about this camera work... and when it comes to threading a needle, the follow focus on this razor thin depth of field is outstanding. Your colour pulls in post are very well considered also. Bravo. Seriously, this production is its own work of art.

I did just as the video asked use headphones. Instantly, her voice and soft crumpling sounds I became so relaxed. For Staff of V & A: 1.) The video and recording -- excellent idea. 2.) For Susana Fajardo: Your voice is beautiful and absolutely calming. I love this channel.

When she put the pins in and said “this is where I’ll make my first stitch” my head got really tingly and my brain almost shit down. I love these videos so much and they help me get to sleep very quickly. I wish I could stay awake to actually learn the history lol
