I've got the Presage model for 8 months now and the polishing is a woww too and I noticed it is very to scratch and there no scratch at all! It could be the metal they used like samurai blade.
I think I'm going to go for a SBGX259G (the white dial). At 37mm its probably the smallest I would consider wearing. Thanks for the video, you've confirmed that a GS is probably a good next watch for me.

It's like a Rolex Explorer that's been (slightly) slimmed down but has the timekeeping of an atomic clock. Like an Alessi kettle or a Wagenfeld lamp you will get ridiculous pleasure just looking at and using it day to day.
That is a great watch! I would adore that, but I have a 7.5 inch wrist. Not sure it’ll look ok. High end end quartz really appeals to me, now. Surprised they can still knock them out for this price. Great enthusiastic unboxing!

I can not comment on actual wear as I no longer have the watch. All I can say is that it is very well made and, from my humble opinion, it will hold up very well.

The way the movement is constructed makes changing the battery very easy. A watchmaker should have no problem. The water resistance is the only thing. It would need to be checked or keep it away from water.
I believe it makes a perfect everyday watch. It can be dressed down and dressed up. It is easy to clean and under normal ware robust. One thing to take into account is the high polish parts can be prone to scratches. This has not been an issue for me. Finally you won't be late because of the watch the accuracy is amazing.
I don't think so... During shipping boxes get turned upside down over and over. That watch should be packed better. Just a folded sheet of bubble wrap placed on top the watch before closing the clamshell box would keep it from coming loose like that. Bad packing noted. Seemingly everything's ok, but still not good care, surprisingly.

Can you find deals on the second hand market for Grand Seiko? The answer is yes. However $500 I find very very hard to believe. These new GS models tend to hold there values well.

Collector of all Things good stuff. I’ve just traded my SBGA373G for the SBGX261+cash. I think the proportions of the SBGX261 are just all round better for my wrist size. The 373G has a thick case back and kind of rocks around on your wrist.
these watches look really boring in pics especially Seiko stock photos in the catalog LOL but in person they are stunning. I had the Automatic version SBGR053 and the quartz version SBGX061 and loved them both. I sold them and rotated thru a bunch of Rolexes but I am coming back around to Seiko and GS again

As a collector it is normal at times to change your collection. I have added new watches to my collection. However I must add this Grand Seiko is still one of my favorites.
I got this watch, its beautiful. I have a 6 inch wrist and 37mm is perfect and a 39mm makes my wrist look awkward. This is a high selling model, most Authorized Dealers have sold out.
I am, however I must admit I no longer own this watch. Not because the watch is not amazing, it is. I will most definitely be looking into purchasing another Grand Seiko in the future. A true top notch brand and well worth the money.
I hated the part when the watch was found to have already moved upside down and you were embarrassed and you took out the watch and wow wow wow while you did miss the opportunity of having a first perfect look.

My only Seiko is a diver solar powered PADI edition, never had a Grand Seiko so I don't understand your feelings but you should look at those Orient Curator (yellow or pink golden, the grey-steel is boring), O. Multihand and Orient Star Elegance. I guarantee you they are better looking that your loved Grand Seiko.

Batteries last 4-6 weeks and has to be sent to Japan to be replaced

The bracelet is held by screw and pin. You remove the screw,pin, and number of links. Just be careful. The screw is very small.

Its matte however how the crystal reacts with it gives it a glossy look at times.
