These type of camera based on Hdminicam and other applications by same developper are dead for remote view for a month now - server down, no hope. They just record on SD card.
@@idepravo2809 , I think you are correct. That said, why would the P2P service resume after a 3 month outage and then go down again a few weeks later? And now the applications have been removed from the Google/Apple stores. Maybe all this has to do with the current turmoil in China and the controversy of shutting out Huawei from providing 5G technology in the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

@@ijinislam1084 I just received this Camera. I too did not find mentioned app. My documentation says I should download V380 Pro. All seemed good...managed to link to WiFi and view on my mobile. Downsides: Battery did not last more than 30 mins. Maybe had weak battery. WiFi connectivity: Has to be very close to modem and practically within Line of sight to work. Tested on two different wifis. On first response was good. On second very delayed.
Good afternoon!I have a couple of questions - I downloaded the HdMiniCam distribution kit, installed it, scanned the code for the camera, it was added, but it does not connect. It remains to hang at the "input" stage and that's it. Reconnected, deleted, reset - nothing helps. What can be done?
The apps from both the Google and Apple stores have been removed. You can still get the Google app elsewhere, but I doubt you can get the Apple app. There is little hope that the camera and apps will ever be supported again. As far as I know, there are no substitute apps, but if you find one let us know. Get a refund for your camera, if possible.
It looks like the 1080p and 4K is only when the camera live shot is happening...can the quality of the recordings be increased in terms of resolution - in other words, can you default the SD recordings to 4K by default? Seems everytime I go into the camera is says 720p. Also my software is a bit newer and there is a "user settings" option but it only allows for the password to be changed.

Can you tell me if that footage recorded at the end was 720p or 1080p ? Yes, your observation is correct. In Aug/2019 the P2P servers were brought down. As a result, nobody make remote connections anymore. The camera is unsupported If you recently bought yours, request a refund. Paypal gives you 6 months to make a claim,

The app wasn't available on Google play as Geek @Street said I would and none of the apps that I think were the app won't even see the camera. It still records and saves the video to an SD card but you can't set the time on it or anything. If you want the time to be correct, you have to wait until midnight before you put the battery in. I am not happy.
This is annoying for me as the App was there when I reviewed the product. Have a look for the app LookCam there is an identical camera on Amazon and it uses that it. On the amazon question someone mentioned that app. Let me know how you get on.

Hey! Great vid. I would suggest presenting also a few seconds of recording with someone moving in it. This way we would see the quality of it better. On the other hand I would really appreciate presenting the infrared a bit more. I bought one a few days ago and im totally disappointed. Infrared is almost non existent. How did you set up yours? Am I doing something wrong? My image is a total blurr with no form. And there is still some light outside the room.
There are two methods to turn on infrared (IR) video. One is from the live video screen. The other is from the configuration screen by setting up a scheduled time for IR. To turn on/off the IR while watching live video, simply tap on the light-bulb icon on the ribbon bar at the top of the live video screen. If you want to turn on IR from the configuration screen, you will have to schedule the time IR should be turned on/off. This will also turn on infrared for live video too. So, I typically have IR turned on between 7:00pm and 7:00am during the summer. You will need to adjust the scheduled time as the days get shorter towards winter. To set the schedule, select Advance Config (or Device Settings on Apple) and then choose IR-LED Config from the menu. Choose the start and end times of the IR schedule.

The problem was with my expectations. 😁 The camera clock is identical with the one in the video, but the or does need quite a bit of ambient light in order to successfully capture image. WiFi security is not available unlike other network devices. Anyone can connect to it on a network. Security for its settings is handled via the app only. Some will say that's its security, however one wonders how secure it is.

Hi, I enjoyed the video of the iminicam. The set up is the same as what I have done. This device in my experience only works when you connect to the same wireless network you and the device are on. I see in your demo you switch off Wireless networks and go to data, but my app keeps looking for CAM and timesout. I am trying to set this camera up for a different business location and so I can view it from home. The instructions I got were vague and the seller cannot explain how to do this. We have been going back and forth for 3 days. Can you please assist?
I guess you missed my posts for the last 6 months. The reason why you cannot make remote connections is because the P2P servers have not been operational since Aug/2019. They came back up for a few weeks in November, but have been down after that. The apps that run from your phone have been taken down from the Google/Apple Play stores. So, it would seem that the camera is no longer supported by anyone. If you bought your camera recently, get yourself a refund while you can (especially if you paid with Paypal). As a workaround, if your PC is on the same network as your camera, you can access your PC remotely with remote desktop software (such as Teamviewer or Google Remote Desktop) and view your camera from your PC's browser.
I have one of those clock cameras coming within a few days. You did not answer something I need to know. If I put the charging cable into the device and the other end into a charging plug, could I keep it plugged in permanently?
That is the preferred way of operating your camera. The battery is merely for backup in case of a power failure. So keep your camera plugged in at all times.

I have a similar camera and I do not see any indication of the IR. Last year, I downloaded an app (I don't remember the name) that allows you to see the camera's IR light on your smart phone screen The purpose of the app is to detect hidden cameras.
Hi got some question before I purchase this. Does the clock need to be charged to a power source in order to record or can it just uses a battery? If so how long does it last? Can you still record without an SD card? And does the camera works without showing the time?
The camera doesn't need to be plugged into a power source to record. You must have a SD card to record. You may want to check some of the other comments from people saying they can no longer connect to their one. If you do buy just make sure you can return and get your money back if there is an issue.
Unless someone can confirm otherwise, I doubt the app works on remote connections for anyone anymore since Aug 26/1029. Without the app, you cannot use the camera's features unless you connect from wifi. So do not buy this camera if you need to connect to your camera from outside your wifi area, Now to answer your questions: The camera should always be used from a power source. The battery only lasts a few hours. After 1 year, my battery only stays charged for less than a minute. You cannot record without a SD card, since your recordings would have nowhere to go. (There is no option to record on a cloud drive.) Some models do allow the clock display to be turned off. You can tell from the menu ribbon on the Live Video screen. The on/off icon which is shaped like a "T" is NOT present if the camera does NOT allow the clock display to be turned off. The camera model featured about does not show the "T" at the top at the 7:07 position.

1) 2-5 hours. The battery is intended to serve as a backup in the event of a power failure 2) Most of these cameras do not have an alarm clock to wake you up. The alarm that is referred to pertains to when the camera detects motion and sends a notification to your phone
Hello, Can you please advise how to set the camera to continue recording even if I exit the smartphone app ? I need to put it on continious record for 2 hours independently of my phone. Now when I exit the app the recording stop. How to make it continue for a longer time?
The camera has two recording modes. Apparently, you are using the mode that is turned on from the "Live Video" screen and stores the video on your phone. Once you exit the screen, the recording stops. This mode is intended to capture things spontaneously at your discretion. The other mode of recording stores the video on the SD card in the camera -- not on the storage of your phone. It allows you to record upon motion detection or on a given schedule such as all-day or during certain hours. This is the feature you are looking for. To access it, select "Advance Config" (or "Device Settings" on Apple). From there select "SDCard Config" to configure the recording schedule. Then later, select "Alarm Config" for additional options.
You can connect to the camera from anywhere around the world as long as the camera is connected to your wifi network. Yes, you can plug in the SD card into a PC and examine all the video files from there. In fact, that is the least cumbersome way to watch recorded video, since the video does not have to be transmitted through a wifi connection.
I adjusted the bandwidth that was set to slow by default. Thought it would work just plugged into the PC but so far no luck. My wifi router died the day before this arrived and I have had problems with the super sneaking into the apartment, got her fired since then but would still like the motion sensor on just in case it happens again. All I did was not reply to her knocking at the door, she just about shat herself when she saw me staring at her and tried the "wrong floor" excuse but she lived on the same floor as me. Just reset the password and do a good job, these things are all over the internet with out the owners consent!
How can you turn on the night mode? Does it turning on automatically? How does the recording turning on and goes right to the memory card? Instantly when you switch the clock on?
It cannot be turned on by detecting darkness. Instead you specify a time range of when night vision is turned on. That range may have to be lengthened during the winter season. Yes, recording is stored onto the SD card. It can be initiated by motion detection or turned on in continuous mode. If you manually turn on recording by pressing the record button on your phone, the recording is stored on the phone's storage rather than on the camera's SD card.
hello, I'm away from home, I left the device and the camera turned on and everything was fine until after 3 days , the program informs me that the device is offline and shows on the display 88: 88, is it possible to restore the connection from a distance, I'm not at home, or simply the device broke? I am surprised you managed to get any connectivity since you left home. No, I doubt the device is broken. You just need to get somebody to reboot it; turn it off and on. It is very common for it to go down especially after you reboot your modem/router.

@@jaroslawletkiewicz7908 I would reset the camera by gently pressing the button at the rear with a pin. Afterwards connect your phone to the camera's wifi signal and configure the camera. While you configure it, you will have to set your camera to connect to your home wifi network

Some versions of this model have this feature. You can tell from the app when you go to the live video screen. If the ribbon menu at the top of that screen displays the "T" icon, then you can tap on it to turn off the display. I've seen this feature on cameras that do NOT have any physical buttons on the top of the device. But that is not a guarantee that the feature is supported. One of my cameras that I have pointed through my window does not have this feature. So I simply put a piece of black electrical tape over the display. In this particular case, it is no more conspicuous to passerbyers than the device itself.

It is black and white because you have the camera's night vision turned on. You may have turned it on from the Live Video screen or you may have scheduled it to be turned on. Both cases seem unlikely, but that is all I can think of.
Yes, the camera does not need an internet connection to store recorded video onto the Micro SD card. But if you want to watch the video you will either have to watch it from your phone while connected to the same wifi network as your camera or remove the SD card and plug it into a computer.
All apps written by Gang Zhang that are compatible with the camera have recently been removed from the Apple/Google stores. This suggests that the camera is no longer supported by anyone, though still being sold. You can try to download the app from here: apkfab.com/developer/gang.zhang
@@Tony-zr7bg, there is still the underlying problem that you cannot establish a connection to your camera when not connected to your wifi. So what I do is I connect locally with the PC app and then use Teamviewer or Google Remote Desktop to connect to my PC (with a remote PC) when I am away from home.

It's a long video with most features already figured out. However want to know how well is the IR perform, Infrared night vision because the one I got my hand on exactly like that but the night vision in (completely dark room) is just dark, turn on IR button barely light up the night vision. I've got cam with IR that light up a dark room that as clear as with light on. So just want to know. Thanks but not much help.
@@dkyrtata6688 Thanks for your comment, the spy cam IR seems to be working but for sure not as good as other IR cam I have got, in pitch dark room it can only managed to light up the table where I place the camera for a few inches front of it but never bright enough, so can tell when IR On or Off, so come to conclusion the IR does work. when IR is on, it usually light up Red but the IR on this unit doesn't seem to light up at all, maybe it is a spy cam so not suppose to light up the infrared?, also the front panel (cover) coating also may block the IR from operating at its optimum? I took the cover off but it doesn't seem to have improved. I just wondering your test spy cam (same as mine) yield the same result as described then able to determine whether it is just weak IR on this particular product and not because it is faulty. the night vision is an important part of any camera if review please include test on this feature as well, much appreciated.
Like majority of spy cams the picture is no where near 1080p. Even a cheap phone produces better 1080p video quality. Why can non have decent video quality.
It's true, the resolution is not 1080p. I think the best you can get is 720p. But from the small screen of a phone, you would not see the benefit of 1080p. The best resolution from the "Live Video" screen is lower than the best resolution obtained from video triggered by motion detection (i.e video recorded to the camera's SD card)
No, do not buy this camera or any other camera that uses any of the apps written by Gang Zhang. All his apps have been removed from the Google Play store. That is an indication that the camera has outlived its useful purpose. Without the app, you cannot remotely connect to the camera with your phone
@@Afrocanuk Yes, but I would not pay more than $40 for it. For me it still serves its purpose since it can still be locally connected to with a PC. Then I can remotely connect to that PC from another computer to view the live video

The owner didn't tell me about this which not only violates our terms and conditions but also violates my privacy which I can sue for. I've confronted the person about it and they're denying it's a camera even though I can clearly see the camera or that it was recording and have taken it apart and seen the SD card slot and it looks exactly like this. Yes. Manual recordings (from the Live Video screen) are stored on your cell phone. Motion detection recordings (including all-day and specific times of day recordings) are stored on the SD card. So if these two events occur at the same time, you will have both types of recordings.

It is the same name for both Android and Apple. Likewise, the app has been removed from both the Google and Apple stores since the camera is no longer supported. Although you can still get the app elsewhere for Android, that is not the case for Apple.
Great! Ask him/her whether the P2P server will ever become operational again so as to establish remote connections. Otherwise, the cameras are virtually useless.
@@拿破轮-z9f Remote connections have not been possible since mid Dec/2019. What country is your camera located and what app are you using to connect to it? I am guessing that maybe the P2P server is blocked from countries outside of China.
@@maiktayson9152 There are many cameras sold on Amazon for under $35. I ended up buying various models of the Yi cameras because they have an App that works on a PC. Though you all the controls are on the phone app, the PC app is good for just viewing live and recorded video.
Help! How do I get this clock to record audio? When I go into the live video feed I can click the wee microphone and speaker which have a red line through them and I can hear what’s being said in real time but it doesn’t continually record audio even though I’ve got the settings to record audio. These cameras have two modes of recording. 1) When you unmute the microphone from the "Live Video" screen (as you have done), a microphone appears on the right side of the screen. You must hold it down to record audio. When you let go, the recording stops. This is probably NOT the what you have in mind. 2) You can also record video and audio through the camera's motion detection feature. This feature also allows you to record continuously. To turn on this feature, select :"SD Card Record Config" from the "Advance Config" menu(or "Device Settings" menu on Apple). Flip on the switch to "Record Sound". You should also set up your preferences in the "Alarm Config" screen ( again, from the"Advance Config" menu (or "Device Settings" menu on Apple)).

Thank you. The newer model does not have the on/off switch labeled and it's tiny, easy to not notice. I couldn't figure out how to turn it on.

There are two methods to turn on infrared (IR) video. One is from the live video screen. The other is from the configuration screen by setting up a scheduled time for IR.
To turn on/off the IR while watching live video, simply tap on the light-bulb icon on the ribbon bar at the top of the live video screen.
If you want to turn on IR from the configuration screen, you will have to schedule the time IR should be turned on/off. This will also turn on infrared for live video too.
So, I typically have IR turned on between 7:00pm and 7:00am during the summer. You will need to adjust the scheduled time as the days get shorter towards winter.
To set the schedule, select Advance Config (or Device Settings on Apple) and then choose IR-LED Config from the menu. Choose the start and end times of the IR schedule.

The camera clock is identical with the one in the video, but the or does need quite a bit of ambient light in order to successfully capture image. Thumbs up guys!

Yes, if you start recording from your phone it will record on your phone storage. If you record from the scheduler, it records on the micro SD card.

WiFi security is not available unlike other network devices. Anyone can connect to it on a network. Security for its settings is handled via the app only. Some will say that's its security, however one wonders how secure it is.

Hi, I enjoyed the video of the iminicam. The set up is the same as what I have done. This device in my experience only works when you connect to the same wireless network you and the device are on. I see in your demo you switch off Wireless networks and go to data, but my app keeps looking for CAM and timesout.
I am trying to set this camera up for a different business location and so I can view it from home.

I guess you missed my posts for the last 6 months. The reason why you cannot make remote connections is because the P2P servers have not been operational since Aug/2019. They came back up for a few weeks in November, but have been down after that.
The apps that run from your phone have been taken down from the Google/Apple Play stores. So, it would seem that the camera is no longer supported by anyone.
If you bought your camera recently, get yourself a refund while you can (especially if you paid with Paypal).
As a workaround, if your PC is on the same network as your camera, you can access your PC remotely with remote desktop software (such as Teamviewer or Google Remote Desktop) and view your camera from your PC's browser.

That is the preferred way of operating your camera. The battery is merely for backup in case of a power failure. So keep your camera plugged in at all times.

The camera doesn't need to be plugged into a power source to record. You must have a SD card to record.
You may want to check some of the other comments from people saying they can no longer connect to their one. If you do buy just make sure you can return and get your money back if there is an issue.
Unless someone can confirm otherwise, I doubt the app works on remote connections for anyone anymore since Aug 26/1029. Without the app, you cannot use the camera's features unless you connect from wifi. So do not buy this camera if you need to connect to your camera from outside your wifi area,
Now to answer your questions:
The camera should always be used from a power source. The battery only lasts a few hours. After 1 year, my battery only stays charged for less than a minute.
You cannot record without a SD card, since your recordings would have nowhere to go. (There is no option to record on a cloud drive.)
Some models do allow the clock display to be turned off. You can tell from the menu ribbon on the Live Video screen. The on/off icon which is shaped like a "T" is NOT present if the camera does NOT allow the clock display to be turned off. The camera model featured about does not show the "T" at the top at the 7:07 position.

Can you please advise how to set the camera to continue recording even if I exit the smartphone app ? I need to put it on continious record for 2 hours independently of my phone. Now when I exit the app the recording stop. How to make it continue for a longer time?
The camera has two recording modes. Apparently, you are using the mode that is turned on from the "Live Video" screen and stores the video on your phone. Once you exit the screen, the recording stops. This mode is intended to capture things spontaneously at your discretion.
The other mode of recording stores the video on the SD card in the camera -- not on the storage of your phone. It allows you to record upon motion detection or on a given schedule such as all-day or during certain hours. This is the feature you are looking for.
To access it, select "Advance Config" (or "Device Settings" on Apple). From there select "SDCard Config" to configure the recording schedule. Then later, select "Alarm Config" for additional options.

Yes, you can plug in the SD card into a PC and examine all the video files from there. In fact, that is the least cumbersome way to watch recorded video, since the video does not have to be transmitted through a wifi connection.

Yes these can be tricky, especially the connection to WiFi. Remember it can only connect to 2.4G WiFi and not 5G

I adjusted the bandwidth that was set to slow by default. Thought it would work just plugged into the PC but so far no luck. My wifi router died the day before this arrived and I have had problems with the super sneaking into the apartment, got her fired since then but would still like the motion sensor on just in case it happens again. All I did was not reply to her knocking at the door, she just about shat herself when she saw me staring at her and tried the "wrong floor" excuse but she lived on the same floor as me. Just reset the password and do a good job, these things are all over the internet with out the owners consent!

It cannot be turned on by detecting darkness. Instead you specify a time range of when night vision is turned on. That range may have to be lengthened during the winter season.
Yes, recording is stored onto the SD card. It can be initiated by motion detection or turned on in continuous mode.

I am surprised you managed to get any connectivity since you left home.
No, I doubt the device is broken. You just need to get somebody to reboot it; turn it off and on. It is very common for it to go down especially after you reboot your modem/router.

is there a way to disable the display numbers that the clock is showing? So it looks like a box instead of an actual alarm clock?
Some versions of this model have this feature. You can tell from the app when you go to the live video screen. If the ribbon menu at the top of that screen displays the "T" icon, then you can tap on it to turn off the display.
I've seen this feature on cameras that do NOT have any physical buttons on the top of the device. But that is not a guarantee that the feature is supported.
One of my cameras that I have pointed through my window does not have this feature. So I simply put a piece of black electrical tape over the display. In this particular case, it is no more conspicuous to passerbyers than the device itself.

It is black and white because you have the camera's night vision turned on. You may have turned it on from the Live Video screen or you may have scheduled it to be turned on. Both cases seem unlikely, but that is all I can think of.

Just reset the camera by gently pressing the reset button with a pin for 5-8 seconds. The password will reset to its default of 8888

Yes, the camera does not need an internet connection to store recorded video onto the Micro SD card. But if you want to watch the video you will either have to watch it from your phone while connected to the same wifi network as your camera or remove the SD card and plug it into a computer.

@@Tony-zr7bg, there is still the underlying problem that you cannot establish a connection to your camera when not connected to your wifi.
So what I do is I connect locally with the PC app and then use Teamviewer or Google Remote Desktop to connect to my PC (with a remote PC) when I am away from home.

It's a long video with most features already figured out. However want to know how well is the IR perform, Infrared night vision because the one I got my hand on exactly like that but the night vision in (completely dark room) is just dark, turn on IR button barely light up the night vision. I've got cam with IR that light up a dark room that as clear as with light on. So just want to know. Thanks but not much help.
It sounds like your IR lights are not working properly. Night vision is usually very good
@@dkyrtata6688 Thanks for your comment, the spy cam IR seems to be working but for sure not as good as other IR cam I have got, in pitch dark room it can only managed to light up the table where I place the camera for a few inches front of it but never bright enough, so can tell when IR On or Off, so come to conclusion the IR does work. when IR is on, it usually light up Red but the IR on this unit doesn't seem to light up at all, maybe it is a spy cam so not suppose to light up the infrared?, also the front panel (cover) coating also may block the IR from operating at its optimum? I took the cover off but it doesn't seem to have improved. I just wondering your test spy cam (same as mine) yield the same result as described then able to determine whether it is just weak IR on this particular product and not because it is faulty.

Like majority of spy cams the picture is no where near 1080p. Even a cheap phone produces better 1080p video quality. Why can non have decent video quality.
It's true, the resolution is not 1080p. I think the best you can get is 720p. But from the small screen of a phone, you would not see the benefit of 1080p.
The best resolution from the "Live Video" screen is lower than the best resolution obtained from video triggered by motion detection (i.e video recorded to the camera's SD card)

No, do not buy this camera or any other camera that uses any of the apps written by Gang Zhang. All his apps have been removed from the Google Play store. That is an indication that the camera has outlived its useful purpose.

The owner didn't tell me about this which not only violates our terms and conditions but also violates my privacy which I can sue for. @@maiktayson9152 There are many cameras sold on Amazon for under $35. I ended up buying various models of the Yi cameras because they have an App that works on a PC. Though you all the controls are on the phone app, the PC app is good for just viewing live and recorded video.
None of the YI cameras are disguised as clocks. So they are not spy cameras

Help! How do I get this clock to record audio? When I go into the live video feed I can click the wee microphone and speaker which have a red line through them and I can hear what’s being said in real time but it doesn’t continually record audio even though I’ve got the settings to record audio. These cameras have two modes of recording.
1) When you unmute the microphone from the "Live Video" screen (as you have done), a microphone appears on the right side of the screen. You must hold it down to record audio. When you let go, the recording stops. This is probably NOT the what you have in mind.
2) You can also record video and audio through the camera's motion detection feature. This feature also allows you to record continuously. To turn on this feature, select :"SD Card Record Config" from the "Advance Config" menu(or "Device Settings" menu on Apple). Flip on the switch to "Record Sound". You should also set up your preferences in the "Alarm Config" screen ( again, from the"Advance Config" menu (or "Device Settings" menu on Apple)).
