    good review and ordered pair off Amazon for under $100 and hope they work for me as a beginner. Others cost 200+ too much for weights 2-3x a week.

    I'm adding weightlifting to my crossfit training lately and I really like my brother's PR 2. I feel quite a lot difference lifting with them compared with my Adidas dropset 2. I think I'll buy these ones as my first pair of weightlifting shoes. Thanks for the great review!

    I have the PRII and they fit great for the 2 to 3 times a week that I use them. I also use UA tribase 3, but I'm considering changing them to Nano X3 for the higher heel and also because they are a little bit torn.

    Hey Jake, thanks for another impeccable review!
    A year or so ago, I purchased Nike Metcons 8 and I'm really happy with them. I'm now thinking of a squat dedicated shoe, and in Reebok EU, I see my size for Lifter PR 3 for 66 euros (75 usd?). Should I go for it?
    I'm gonna keep the Metcons for Deadlifts, I'm mostly doing RDLs anyway.
    My squat 1rm is close to 200 KG, my deadlift 1rm is close or equal to 220 KG, I'm mostly powerbuilding, not doing any oly lifting movements.
    What's your opinion on my rant, generally? 😂
    Thanks in advance.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Год назад +1

      IMO, yeah, that's a solid price. Plus, they'll last a while and you can keep them in the toolbox for whenever you want em!
      I like the rotation. Think it can be useful going from Trainers to Weightlifting Shoes depending on the context/needs/goals at hand!

    Dude, if you had to pick between these shoes or the nano x3 JUST for lifting in the gym, which one would you pick? Without thinking about the money, just performance and comfort.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Год назад +1

      Very different style shoes! One is a weightlifting shoe and the other is cross-training. Kind of like comparing apples to oranges
      I’d go Nano X3 if your goal is one shoe for everything. Weightlifting shoes will have a narrower scope or use!

    Hi Jack, I ask you a question, if I already have these shoes, what others do you recommend for crossfit for greater versatility? Nano x2/3, Under Armor region 4?

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Год назад +2

      All of those models work well! I'd go with a Nano or TriBase Reign iteration that has the best price point for you.

    how does the sizing and fit with this vs the savaleos? I got the savaleos and its starting to feel narrow now for me, as a powerlifter I only use it for squats due to my lower ROM of my ankle. Thanks again! Just want to upgrade my savaleos to something more wide than savaleos but also doesn't break the bank.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Месяц назад

      Should feel wider than the Savaleos and the upper in these gives you more wiggle room, imo. Go same size in these as you did with your Savs! Keep me posted

    Hi Jake. Do you know if the heel to toe drop is 15mm or is the heel height from the ground 15mm. I've been doing crossfit for 4 years now and have never used weightlifting shoes. The only reference I have is the Metcon 8. Would you say you feel a significant difference in heel height between this shoe and a Metcon 8? Just want to make sure it will be worth buying these and that it will actually make a difference for my squats and olympic lifting.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  11 месяцев назад

      You will for sure feel the difference. Any time you read heel elevation you can safely assume that also means heel to toe drop for weightlifting shoes.
      Metcon 8 = 4mm
      These = 15mm
      It’s a pretty big difference that you’ll feel when lifting. Stoked for you to test them!

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Год назад +3

      Both are fine, tbh! I wouldn't stress it too much. The Lifter PR 3 will give you a tad more width.
      Also, I'd suggest not using them for deadlifts and I have content on my channel explaining why!

  • @rafall6759

    Hi. Can You help me with the sizing. Those are my first weightlifting shoes. I have ordered 2 pairs and with one my toe is touching the front when I stand and in thin socks. Bit it is not like a big pressure. The second is is not touching. Should I go for the smaller ones as it gives more protection and breaks in or maybe for the bigger one and give the feet space. I have red instructions fut they say different things and they do not say how they break in and should it be taken into consideration for this particular model. Normally I prefer to buy a bit smaller shores and they break in but with those I have no idea. Thank You for any advise

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Год назад

      I think you'd be fine with either based on the context provided. If you like snugger fitting shoes, then keep in mind that these will stretch a bit over time, too.
      It's really preference, though, if they both feel "okay" and you're not experiencing heel slip or the toes jamming then I'd go with the pair that feels a little better!

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Год назад +1

      I would not deadlift with them and that's due to the elevated heel changing the mechanics of the lift and adding ROM. I have some content on that topic if you want to check it out!

      Depends on your anatomy and needs. If you're a powerlifter with shorter legs trying to optimize setup/leg drive, then they can be useful, but for recreational lifters - don't really need em'.

    • @thatfitfriend

      They should! Don't forget to also expose and build your squat to flatter shoes as well. Think of these as tools to rotate in based on what you're doing/what your goals are!
