      It took me 100 times on jack stands and another 50 on the wheels to bleed my Rubicon. Also PLZ use the right fluid. Check and double check.

    Thanks a lot man. Helps a lot. Some people or shops share other techniques but cant be done home due to unavailability of bleeding tools. They just want it done in the shop or buy their product.
    Keep up. Salute.

    Depending on how old the fluid is you may even want to clean the screen in the reservoir. A lot of cars have one in the reservoir to prevent dirt getting into the system. It is common to find those screens really dirty in cars with higher mileage. You will never see it if there is fluid in there as there should normally be.

      no just flush it. i sold tons of p/s pumps and no one ever flushed nething but terlet when finished. they brought core back and bought me a Bier! maybe if fluid smells burnt id change/flush but you are wasting time and money. get second opinion cause i was asking mechanic today he says no change fluid. if part whore dont warranty pump then we by from rockauto.Just say Rockauto every time in parts store they will treat you like King.

    Man this is giving me a headache. I recently installed a new power steering pump on my 04 Legacy. Turning is better initially, but the more sharp turns I make, the more the steering wheel gets stiffer. I popped the hood and realized there's a pool of steering fluid that's leaking from the top of the new steering pump, right where the lines go in. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could try next?

    • @mercury2632
      @mercury2632 2 года назад

      Usually when you replace the pump, you wanna replace the O rings on the inlet and outlet of the pump although you probably figured it out by now considering its been 7 months.

  • @cantontrader
    @cantontrader 9 месяцев назад

    Unless your brand new (not refurbished) power steering pump seals are allowing air to be injected into the fluid, resulting with fluid froth being returned to the reservoir. Finally replaced the pump again, and problem went away. Yes, bleed the system this way BEFORE starting the engine or it will sound like a Hydrostatic Drive Lawnmower !!
