Great information as always! "Dramatic fatigue" might be an understatement. "Absolute and total exhaustion" with minimal activity might describe it better. My symptoms might have been from adrenal insufficiency compared to merely withdrawal symptoms. How does one know if it is withdrawal or adrenal insufficiency? Probably adrenal insufficiency gets more into severe withdrawal symptoms. Chronic inflammation causes fatigue too so maybe it just depends on the magnitude of fatigue. Some of the symptoms talked about also describe how PMR and other autoimmune conditions feel like. There are many overlapping symptoms to unravel. You just need to hope these autoimmune conditions are in remission too or else you may never get off prednisone. I think it is called "steroid burden" in the medical literature.
@mikem8246 I was pleased to read your comment. I could have written likewise. I was hospitalised for 3 weeks, 10 months back and diagnosed with Poly arthritis. This little pill, was my best friend then but it’s become my enemy. I’ve also got osteoporosis! The fatigue is utterly unbearable but my adrenals are also under investigation due to them finding I have a small adenoma. When I try to taper below 10mg prednisone daily, I start to utterly seize up. I’m trying to taper lower than that at present. I was hoping to find someone to compare with. x
Hi Megan, thanks for the great content. I have a question about prednisone side affects. Is it normal to have a sweet sense in mouth? Is there a way to avoid it? (I started to take prednisone last week after optic neuritis. Before starting my blood sugar, kidney, and liver ezyme levels were all normal. In the first 6 days I took 1000 mg serum everyday. Now I'm taking 16 mg by pill daily.)
@@PrednisonePharmacist what is the name of your product. Also what can I eat after finishing the prednisone medication. Should I wait a certain amount of time to get back to eating certain foods

I’ve never heard of that. Though I have heard of a sweet craving!
@@PrednisonePharmacist I have that too :)) Thanks for the answer!
What if I followed the doctor orders of taking the prednisone. I’m finished my dosages. I tapered off and I finished
That’s good that you followed the doctor’s orders. If you’re still suffering prednisone withdrawal, then you need to let your doctor know.
