- We're back with another chatty one today, this time we're covering a rather sticky subject (´･ω･`)
For once we stick on topic for an entire video and talk about demoman at his core mechanics, as well as cover some small generalistic tips.
I think I'll put demoknight in a seperate video though; I feel like it's pretty much a different class at this point.

Who would win: A highly explosive projectile going at very high speeds. Or one door.
I only realised you could charge stickies like that at 3000 hours, I was completely bamboozled, all my tf2 friends were surprised I didn't know. I thought to get stickies far you'd just aim high but not too high.

That might have been a good thing in a weird sort of way. You might have gotten better at aiming stickies in the air and stuff. Plus no one expects a stickies from the air, if you launch them forward people will see them and try do dodge/air blast/shoot them.
I used to use the sticky jumper and nade launcher to practice my projectile aim. it really makes you hone in on learning to hit things that are moving while you are moving, and how to set up predictive follow up pipes. Anyone looking to improve your pipe aim, try running around with the sticky jumper. a shield is also fine, but the jumper lets you practice your sticky jumping as well, and the mobility can't be beat.

Someone invited me into an Iron team as Demo and this video taught me quite a few useful tips. Did not even think about the Pipe and Sticky det at the same time.
Also, turning viewmodels of helps a great deal on Soldier, Demo and Scout, for me, that is. Nice video, fabric of a presumably elongated part of a piece of clothing where one's arm fits through :}

i think using viewmodels over a crosshair isn't quite for me for anything really
once you've used a crosshair for so long it becomes something you can ignore and use quickly for frame of reference
i miss a lot in this video because i don't really play any demo, had i of warmed up beforehand my aim probably would have been better but it wasn't really the point of the video
Let's talk about splash damage
Something I've always wondered is why they changed the sticky and pill launcher so they both have 6 in them, I know they removed 2 pills because of overuse and spam of the GL, but changing it back and giving the sticky launcher 6 again might help revert the spam of the sticky launcher. This change would however need a drop in damage on the GL from 100 on directs to like, maybe 80-90, something to prevent people from 2 shoting soldiers 3 times in a row, but still give them enough to deal MORE overall damage if they're good enough.
To counteract scouts I tend to lay one or two stocked around me to detonate while I retreat and fire pipes
iron bomber is easier to aim because of the geometry of the pills, they're more spherical with the iron bomber as opposed to stock which causes less trajectory-fucking-around

They fly the same but they don't land the same or clip corners, that's the main thing that makes them easier to aim.
Don't tell the Demo your playing in a pub, you'll only disappoint him.

once as a demoman on the first stage of Thunder Mountain I spawncamped the attacking team with a kritz medic and engineers for the entire game
Maybe it's just me, but whenever a pipe is a crit, i feel like it kind of moves towards the enemy and kind of homes in on the enemy.
demo is by far my favorite class in gameplay and in personality
I suck at sticky spamming somehow. Also, there is very few things scarier than a wall hacking Scottish resistance demo that knows where to put traps. I still have PTSD from my early days when that happened

I think the iron bomber is ideal for Demoknighting because it acts alot more like an auto detonate sticky launcher
Lol ... even I thought that you killed the sentry gun and realized it was dispenser and other trash
I personally think stock is better, however the iron bomber is way better for shield and sword users because it (sort of) gives pills and stickys, and is more practical and closer to stock than the crutchy loch and load, the completely different booties and wooden leg.
The iron bomber and stock can be switched between with normal demo
The stickybomb is strictly better than every other secondary, being one of the best weapons in the game. The shields have their moments too, but not really in a competitive setting. The stickybomb launcher can be spammed and can set up traps, you can even hold down to send the sticky’s farther.
Lemme know what you guys like.
The lag on my old laptop was such that trying to spam stickies often led to me just charging up a single shot for long periods in the face of danger for no reason, so I found out about the charging fairly early on lol.

a good way to practice demo is, manually add bots to tr walkway cause they can move at speeds of slower than heavy to faster than scout as they move on their own as well as tr walkway's movments.

Yeah but the thing is, whenever I’m playing against a decent demo, I’ll hit them with 2 crit rockets 12 shotgun shots, hit them with my Melee 17 times, get a headshot on them, and an entire sentry gun arsenal, he will somehow still kill me

the problem I see with weapons like the iron bomber is boring play style it promotes, (i.e. not being a big difference form stock ). In my opinion weapon unlocks should add more dimensions and variety to a class, rather than change a couple small stats. The problem with this is valve sucks at weapon balance and the split between the comp and causal communities, makes it hard to decide on an agreement when it comes to weapon balancing.
You don't just "kill" sentries!
If demoman didn't exist, the game wouldn't be that different. Everything he can do, other classes can do much better.

I'm good at demon on ctf, defence and cp but I dont really play much of him I usually pick medic or spy. Bug if I want consecutive kills I pick demo. Btw I like the scottish resistence since I'm more of a denfensive demo.

I miss the extra damage of the lock and load. You don't need extra damage on a fucking stationary object, you want that on something moving at you to kill.
it was pretty borked how you could one shot light classes with it if you hit them on the head

use stickies more. youll get more damage out if you use them to take potshots at the enemy team from a long range
5:00 that cant be true if the xbox 360 version (which has NEVER been updated) has the primary is grenade launcher and stickies as secondary then i dont know what version of tf2 your talking about because you cant go further back than the base game from 07

another good way to practice pipes is to go in pubs with the large and pipes and just hit many shots

Sozzy but the iron bomber is near enough a direct upgrade, nerf the iron bomber it's making the grenade launcher basically non existent.
Lava It is basically like direct hit. It CAN be a direct upgrade but inconsistent(rockets easy to dodge, the small bounce attribute limits you from medium-long range to short-medium playstyle). That's why you don't see direct hit or iron bomber that often in both casual and competitive.

Hitscan is stuff like bullets and melee that are instant, as opposed to projectile which move visibly across the screen
