- The Drag EVO VIII had already lost a lot of weight with the removal of all the interior and many other metal panels and brackets. Now all the doors, hood, trunk, side skirts and other panels are being replaced with dry carbon fiber.
Thanks!
Not enough but it's a start on cooling your place down. Great content!
WOW, Dude! You are awesome! Much appreciated.
The new doors are much too dirty. Where's Sarah when she's needed??? 🤣😂
Knowing how much that carbon stuff costs and how easy it is to damage with the tools must be a little daunting!
Great job, thanks for posting - look forward to seeing the completed car! 🙂
Hopefully we will have it completed soon. Many projects in the works!
Shewwww buddy! Looks great!
She wasn't even kidding calling you next door ...
Boys !!!

Nice job guys.
A gazillion years ago I worked as bicycle mechanic.
I watched the top mechanics work on carbon fibre bikes.
I wasn't allowed to get within 5 feet of the work area.
Their movements with wrench in hand were in slo-mo.
Really cool.
Hot and cold is counter productive. I'm not sure how much space you have but what I have done is build a room (floor, walls and roof) out of blue SM 2' x 8' x 2" styrofoam sheets (no weather impact so no frame is necessary) Just basically use tape to hold it's shape. Two layers overlapping seams is very solid. Use paint to glue the layers together. Keep the room to 8' max width so a sheet length will span for the floor and roof. Make it more solid by simply gluing/painting any thin 4 x 8 paneling to the outside, inside or both and it will be strong enough you could even pick it up and move it around. Continuous SM sheets are extremely good insulation. For a room 8' x 12' the smallest a/c unit will be too cold and a 1250 watt heater will be too hot. You could set up an 8' x 12' work room with a bench along a full side and do all small work in that room and you will be able to tolerate the heat or cold much better for the big jobs. Maybe each of you can spend 25% of your time in there. That would make a huge difference. Do a test. Make a small 4' by 8' room or something and grab a small window a/c unit from home and see what it does. You will be amazed.
We did measurements and found a calculator on the internet that said we’d need a 14 ton a/c unit to cool our shop ~4000sqft with 16’ tall ceilings.
@@90crxdx Yes, those industrial units are terrible to heat or cool. I was suggesting to make a separate small highly insulated work room to cool with a tiny a/c unit and do the "small" work in in comfort. With the small work, breaks, lunch, planning sessions etc. the staff can get "chilled" and wouldn't mind the heat nearly as much when out in the main shop. Total cost would be a couple hundred bucks.
@@underwaterdroneservices7292 oh we have a office that has a/c but we’re renting the building we’re in.
Excellent as always. That`s a big area to cool down. It must be brutal.
superb
Can you show how the back doors are secured?
Is it just the door lock?
No handles has me wondering 🤔👍
Factory latches. Door handle works on the inside.
@@IPunchUrFace Thanks 👍
I love that the rears are shaved.
It’s the stock latch but you’ll only be able to open them from the inside.
Great video
Love the intro
What’s the weight difference between each door?
Any way to schedule a appointment for a weight reduction removal on a evo 8?

no one forced you to set up shop in an oven..fuck..nuff said...grin and bear it..if you cant stand the heat, get out of the oven..or..go next dor and chill with sarah !!
You sound like an employer..... a bad one!
@@underwaterdroneservices7292 he wouldn’t like us as employees either 😂
Any sheet metal building without AC in AZ is going to be an oven and high humidity is multiplier for that discomfort. The building already has a minor amount of insulation, but that will only go so far in combating heat.
Thanks!
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Thanks, Gary! U da Man! :-)
@@UWrenchTV Really!! Holy Moley!! : ) I hope JK, and Peter Fowler inclusion starts a landslide of cash. Many BTU's to cool that shop down, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
