yes that what i was talking about. i am supposed to use ai because of its cheap price. now what? use four cams to cost me same if i bought a suit
@@robot5714 Your crew is more likely to have 1-4 iPhones already within the team and less likely to have a mocap suit lying around, driving the initial cost down.
But yeah, if starting from scratch or going for higher quality production the suit seems a better investment.

@@TheBestYoutubChannelInTheWorldmany indie teams aren't even 4 people. They might not all use iPhones and you might not be geolocated. Plus I don't know, but I imagine this is wanting the depth sensor? Otherwise surely it could be any phone or maybe even any camera... 4 web cams or even 6 and this is £600 for even the best such cams, then it's compelling.

cons of AI. subscription. processing, data transfer... motion capture suit advantages. You pay once and record hours of Motion capture that you have right away.

I see what you're saying cost wise. Nothing is "cheap", but using 3 iPhones is exponentially less cost than using a full-fledged hardware optical system. P.s. we only used the iPad because we ran out of people to borrow iPhones from in the studio haha
@@copilotco a good thing to mention too is that this is why working with others and finding people to work on projects with helps. Multiple people with multiple iPhones that they already have
Theoretically, iPhones just tout a very HD camera.. Once another dev comes along and writes an opensource freeware PC app.. This will be the go-to for every dev. Most of us have HD cameras on a variety of devices.. Write an app that allows those to be connected to a PC wirelessly.. Or just use USB HD cameras and BAM. Problem solved, next gen of motion capture.
I'm not sure that's entirely true. IOS has AR engine that the app is probably utilizing, so there is most likely a tightly coupled dependency on iPhones here. (I haven't looked into it but I would assume this is the case).
The iphone solution loos awful.. at least in this experiment, i find better results with the old ipi soft
