Finally someone making a full review on a 'regular' engine with sport line instead of doing another M235i M Sport line that no one will actually buy, or at least not the majority of people searching for a review. also, you chose black paint wich also is more realistic! thank u keep up the good job
- The colour does make a difference, looks good in black.
I went to check it out at the dealer. It looks a lot better in real life than on video, it looks fantastic!
I have exactly the same experience
quite a stunning car, its kind of unique looking for a bmw
Yes it seems either people love or hate the design . I personally …. Love it and bought one last night , the cabin quality is also stunning in the flesh ( has the biggest pro nav screen and very nice black leather ) 220d MSport 15 months old , no longer made , looking forward to 55+mpg on a run fingers crossed , as a user I’m mostly in it alone so the rear will probably mostly be storage , I think it’s a little quality jewel that looks especially good from behind …😊
One of the few reviewers who understand who BMW made this car for. Kudos!
Wow, such a handsome great car. Looks like The 8 gran coupe but smaller love it.
Good review, I like the car . It will bring a new customer to BMW I think 👍🏻
Never been a fan of any BMWs really but this one caught my attention! The boot is a great look, can't see why anyone wouldn't like the design haha. Great review, nice to see a review of a "normal" engine too as opposed to the top end 360BHP options haha
Thanks for checking it out!
BMW's answer to a question nobody asked.
this company has become really unattractive over the years. just look at the size of grilles on new 4 series and m3 m4. absolutely dog shit
Three cylinder BMW that's cheered me up
Never drove BMW, not big on cars and pretty much don't know a thing a bout engines.
But daaaamnnn I did a testdrive today 60 minutes of pure joy. Ordering on monday, company car so only 16' default wheels but even with those the car looks great.
yesterdayb had a test drive with an Audi A3 sportback, or atleast that was what I thought. I got there and they give me a 2017 Audi A3 Berline. Like what really.
Driving the BMW 2 gran coup (with M performance wheels tho) today immediatly sold me to the car.
nice review aswell, everyone keeps on reviewing the S ling or M sport models but 26277 view telll me that alot of people need *this* review.
cheers
The boot hgas an extension where the spare wheel usually goes, makes it slightly deeper
It make happy moment for me. I like.
Thanks
Rear window won't go down all the way probably because of the angle of the tumblehome. It's also why the Lambo Countach had to have letterbox side windows.
Every day is a school day !
Nice review.
The rear windows seem form over function.
Were they not frameless I think they would add a "filler" plate or fixed pane to shorten the length of the moving window ,so it could travel all the way down.
But they didn't ,so it doesn't😃
bryan but they didn’t do it doesn’t 🤣
the Bill Burr of car reviewers
😂
Nice review 👍 🛎
Thank you 👍
Can u sit with to persons in front without hitting the arms in the midle
Good review, but this car makes no sense, it's slightly bigger than a one series but who needs that? You would opt for a 3 or 4 series of you need more space. But it does look very sleek in black and I do like the design
Does the 218i sport lowest version model have interior lighting, e.g different colour LED options in the footwell etc?
Lighting but don't think the colours can be changed
Looks a whole lot better in real life .. bmw finance being so good it can make this a much cheaper option than the merc and Audi competitors
I've seen a reasonable amount of them on the roads too!
Ordered one yesterday but got to wait until March! Gutted about the chip shortage
hey, i also order one yesterday and get my car 22.02.2022 :-) For me its a great car i driving now with a hyundai i 20 so for me its a better car. Good luck.
The bmw 1 series or bmw grand coupe , which car did you prefer? 👍
Looks wise the 1 series, it’s also unashamedly the entry level BMW. The 316i saloon used to sell by the bucketload in Ireland, this could fill that gap.
Ive got one coming in March 2021. I ordered it in August 2020 so im really chomping at the bit now.
What colour did you go for?
@@NobbyOnCars i think it is seaside blue. I wanted the orange, because i used to have a Lexus in a similar colour and loved it. But my mrs won the coin flip.
Women have amazing levels of say when it comes to car decisions.. same the world over ☺️
@@NobbyOnCars too true 😅
Why didn’t they make it a hatch like til 4GT. nice review
Thank you! Not a bad idea on the hatch
I have to select a new co car soon and this is on the menu along with the 1 series. I currently have a 3 series saloon but do sometimes miss not having the carrying capacity of a hatch/estate. I actually reallly like the looks of this coupe, it's a bit different, but it seems the 1 is a more practical choice for carrying stuff or passengers in the rear. How to decide.......
If you use your boot a lot, the 1 series will be easier to get stuff into.
@@NobbyOnCars Saw the Coupe in the flesh today, in black, looked more understated than I expected and quite sleek to my eyes. Tempting even if I do like the versatility of a hatch.....
get the i4 !
I had a 2 series grand tourer as a courtesy car whilst my BMW was being serviced. Later I asked the garage to leave a not on my records to never issue me with a 2 series again - it was just horrible to drive and didn't feel like a BMW. I do like the appearance of this one - slightly more edgy from BMW.
Was never a fan myself although it drove better than it looked!
two weeks to go for mine in mineral grey
Best of luck with her!
How you getting on with her ?, And Merry Christmas ☃️🎅.
I have a 2011 135i. Everything is broken. Eveything has always been broken.
Monday morning car?

I've owned BMWs for 30 of the 40 years I've been buying cars. Over the last 20 years BMW has degraded to the point where I would call them the worst built cars on the planet. The engines are 50% plastic and the plastic deteriorates to the point of falling off the bone in 5 to 10 years. Its disgraceful crap. Amazingly, BMWs are statistically second to Porsche on the official worst built cars list. www.motor1.com/features/177033/most-expensive-car-truck-maintenance/ I can't imagine a worse experience, Porsche must use playdough instead of engine plastic. I spent more to repair my last 135i than I paid for it new, and its kbb resale value is almost $0, while it still needs a new convertible top as the cloth has completely disintegrated, a new a/c compressor, a new drivers seat from a huge spontaneous pleather tear, a new dash which is delaminating, and has 7 identifiable massive oil leaks including the rear main seal. The manual transmission is also getting very notchy. It has has run for about 2 weeks, since I bought it 9 years ago, without a dash light. So I guess that leaves room for Porsche to suck even worse. Mercedes and VW-Audi (plus VW-Porsche in #1) are all high on the crap car list, making German cars, without a doubt, the most putrid garbage one can buy. Disgraceful shitbuckets.
Awful, horrible, dusgusting, fraudulent, imbecile engineering. The worst names you can call these idiots isn't near bad enough.
Thats the actual 3 series and the 3 series is the 5 series
Funny guy
I actually like it's butt lol
Ok - so - someone buying this instead of a Skoda Octavia = just because of the brand, right?
@Christopher Fitzpatrick yup. So essentially someone who's driving a second car side by side to this one so they can look at this :D
