Totally agree with Tamaasha.... Idk why it's so underrated and overlooked it's so relatable especially for us who feel stuck in the corporate rut and are forced to continue in jobs we don't actually like because "it's what everyone does" 🤦♂️and we're told what to do at every step of our life so much so that as adults, we don't even know who we are and what we like

My personal opinion is that Tamasha is the greatest film in all aspects in Indian cinema . Hopefully we'll be able to see some more work of the two Legends together.

SrK is great but the movie has an insanely wrong message. Alia character cheats with so many men with almost 0 remorse and no consequences and they all come to her party in the end like it's all chill. People are quick to point out the flaws in Kabir Singh, well news flash..Dear Zindagi was wayyy worse

I think Kai Po Che movie should also be in this list because Kai Po Che didn't have as much success at box office as good movie

It was hit
I watched Tamasha in the theatre...and trust me half of the audience left the theatre before the interval. That day I realised our Indian audience needed to enlarge their mind set-up about Bollywood cinemas... I enjoyed the movie a lot. Ranbir's performance was outstanding, the concept was pretty clear and perfectly portrayed onscreen. This movie I guess is one of the best work of Imtiaz Ali so far ❤️. Yes, of course over the years people recognise this masterpiece and appreciate the work. Even I believe and I hope that "Jagga Jasoos" a film by Anurag Basu, will also be recognised by the Indian audience some day.
Even I watched it in theatre.
People who had gone expecting Masala/Romcom from a Ranbir-Deepika Film, were not enjoying it.
But People who had gone for a pretty thought provoking Imtiaz's film, were enjoying it.
In any case, no one left the theatre in between.
It's not about the audience. It's all about expectation from a film IMO.

Well according to me that wasn't audience's fault like more than half of tamasha was damn boring only last 20 mins were good... If makers had made it interesting from start it wouldn't have been flop... You can't expect a film to be hit just by good climax and concept
I have watched in theatre. The movie part in France is very entertaining but after the interval it is very slow and boring. I slept in between in second half.

On my experience 1. Tamasha- it's very personal to me, n most importantly I nd my mental health resonate with Ved's condition, i deeply feel his helplessness, sense of belonging somewhere. Jab bhi ye movie aati hai TV p to me kamre me kisiko bhi nahi aane deta, i don't like getting disturbed while watching it, nd jab jab me is movie ko dekhta hu tab evrytime i come across with a new theme, new deep underlying issue, hmesa kuch naya dikhta hai. 2 A death in the gunj nd 3. Blackmail movie (irfan khan) is another masterpiece no one knows about.. His condition, insomnia, subtle acting is out of the world.
Actually the title of the film is very interesting, black- मेल. His character is indeed very dark. The script is brilliant and Irfan Khan's acting out of this world. Amit Trivedi's music is amazing too.
Finally someone said about Ship of Theseus. A true cinematic masterpiece.
I remember watching tamaasha and realising it's a masterpiece. Where my friends were calling it crap. Sadly, we're not ready for these kinds of pictures.
I was in awe when I saw ranbir's acting in tamasha....It was a very satisfying experience to see some excellent acting

I think Tamasha is getting the recognition now as I've seen many people talk about it. Ship of Thesus is also a great movie glad u mentioned it. Also i would like to add a movie 'Haider' which, i wouldn't say masterpiece, but it's an amazing movie.

I think you should start including movies from all languages of India. Because masterpiece are made in every state of India.
I don't understand why people don't talk much about Ranbir Kapoor. I think one of the reasons is that he is not on social media, he is only seen during his film promotions. I am sure in next 10 years, in terms of both masterpiece performances and box office, he'll be among the top 3 stars from India.
He is already apart from so called stars .
My top three movies of this list are
1) Ship of theseus - neeraj kabi performance is stunning
2) black Friday - kk sir my fav actor
3) Dhobi ghat - pure class and top acting

Over the past few years. After lockdown specially. Log movies ko deeply smjhne lge hai, phle log movie masaledar fighting type movies dekhte the, but ab wo movie se connect krte hai, that's why tamasha now considered as a masterpiece.
The auto rickshaw scene is one of the best scene i have ever seen and tamasha hits differently when we relates it with our story

Black friday was Magnum opus of AK. What performance and what a way to tell a real story in the most chronological manner possible. Best recreation of the events that played a significant role in shaping the future of our country.
Soni and Sherni are the movies with ample hint that how difficult the path for even the most qualified women in society with the MCPs around and the biased vision of people in society including that of a woman for a woman.
Totally agree with Tamaasha .. as when I was watching that movie the whole theater was empty . Only 3 person were watching. But after interval they were also gone ..
And , when I went to watch Baaghi 3 the entire theater is full ..

There is a difference between underrated movies and ignored masterpieces
The only film in this list which is a masterpiece is tamasha, but it is not an ignored one, over the years people have given it the appreciation it deserves

I went to cinema hall twice to watch Tamasha. The first time I just drank this masterpiece with apt surprise, and the second time I just cried my heart out. I felt Ved in me and I knew this is my story.
It was , is and will always be a masterpiece, and I don't know why this one flopped. I can't praise this movie enough.
Tu hai mera sunday and Laila majnu are amazing movies too. Avinash Tiwary what a brilliant actor!!!
