Railfanning Belmar, New Jersey 7/3/2015

- This video was shot at 3 crossing in Belmar, New Jersey.
Alan, (Millenniumforce) wanted to take a train ride, so i decided to film a few crossing in Belmar that i have not yet filmed yet.
Crossing Info:
Crossing #1 (16th Ave):
Signal on left: 1 pair of Safetran 8 inch lights, 2 pairs of WC Hayes 8 inch lights, and a WC Hayes gate motor
Signal on right: 1 WRRS 8 inch light, 1 Safetran 12x24 inch light, 1 WC Hayes 8 inch light and a WRRS 8 inch light. The sidelights are 8 inches as well and come from WRRS. The gate motor is WRRS while the mechanical bell comes from Safetran.

Crossing #2 (13th Ave):
Signal on left: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a WRRS gate motor and a WC Hayes mechanical bell.
Signal on right: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, and a WRRS gate motor

Crossing #3 (8th Ave):
Signal on right: 1 Safetran Cantilever with 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch fading LED lights, and a WC Hayes mechanical bell. The gate, which is attached to the cantilever has 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch fading LED lights and a Safetran gate motor
Signal on left: 1 Safetran Cantilever with 4 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch fading LED lights, and a WC Hayes mechanical bell. The gate, which is attached to the cantilever has 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch fading LED lights and a Safetran gate motor.
Both pedestrain gates have safetran gate motors.
All these crossings are located on NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line

Dude, I grew up in Belmar, 69-74. spent lots of time at the crossings by the elementary school and the station crossings. Back when the CNJ operated. Thanks.
Mark-Andre Bailey I started staying at the guest houses until I could get a nice rental house finally got one and moved there on 11th ave I love it
Typical how in the last video when the crossing gates goes up traffic proceeds through the red traffic light.

+wisecrac99 Yep, i've been here several times, and i have not yet seen a car wait for the light to turn green. Also i think the light is too long once the gates rise.

I also remember the Asbury Park station crossing with a shanty man operating hydraulic crossing gates!!!
I realized at every crossing the gated signals on the right take the longest to rise. Awesome catch btw.

I just realized something, the gate on the back side of the crossing goes up a bit faster than the one on the side you're standing on.
Awesome video! I'd say the coast line is definitely the best place to go if you want old crossing signals, there's still a few in Point Pleasant I need to do!

Freedomtowerman Productions I went to various crossings, but tried to do all the ones with old signals on them.
It also seems like the first crossing has a blown bulb in one of the lights.
***** You are correct, the right light on the right signal's bulb is out.
I went to 8th and 7th Ave recently. Actually met NJT4218 (Liam) there.
Not to mention a great Mexican place right next to 8th Ave. Guy Fieri from Diners, Drive Ins & Dives went there. That have great molé and burritos.

I've seen that place, but not actually been inside.

10th Ave Burrito's good like no other though.

On one of those trains that passed by when you were on 16th street millenniumforce was riding on it and you were waving your hat at it.

They don't have these in oregon over here with the sidewalk ones. I have yet to see a video of the flashing lights above the X and below the X like we have here in oregon in a few places. I may have to do a video.

What happened to the mast with the mismatched brand/sized lights?

The closer one with mostly 8 inch heads but has a 12 inch head (hence why I called it mismatched)
As in did it get hit by something, or did anything happen to it that might have damaged it?
***** Oh that signal, i honestly dont know what happened to that signal. Maybe the light there got damanged so they put the 12x24 inch light up, i really dont know.
Freedomtowerman Productions meh that's okay, even though you know a lot about railfanning I can't expect you to know everything, because that would be too demanding
Also if you come to Illinois just film as many crossings in Chicago and its suburbs and you'll have 6 months of content you could use as scheduled uploads in case shit hits the fan for any reason

Why does NJ transit is like 5 minutes to get to a crossing while a CSX Freight would have been finished

Crossing #1 Lenses need to be cleaned or your camera isn't picking up the light.
JMAN123436 Its the sunlight, the sun was behind me and the lights are not very bright so with the sun, it looks like they are off.
Also the right light on the right hand signal of crossing #1, the bulb is burnt out

I like prefer safetran m bells but thats becuase there rare on the upper part of MA
