I enjoyed your Cemetery Adventure! This is a old but well cared for cemetery! It looks like they really want to preserve the stories of these historical people who passed on!
Awesome video!!! I like visiting the older cemeteries for that is where the real history is. Also like visiting those out-of-the-way and overgrown/forgotten cemeteries as well because you never know who/what you may discover.
Blessings on the people who are caring for this cemetery so well! And thank you for a very nice video! I wish I knew where my Shannon ancestors were in Pennsylvania, but I have not found them yet. I hope their graves are being cared for as these are!
From the time I was a little I loved old cemeteries. When we would drive by one I would beg my parents to stop. Ill always will remember the time we went to our old family cemetery in MO. We have relatives buried there that were born in the 1700's. Thank you for sharing this. Yes to more cemeteries.
You are so very welcome and thank you so much for that lovely story. Me, myself have always been infatuated with cemeteries. Every time I go by one I can hear the past in them, Which compels me to stop. Thank you for supporting us and we appreciate you greatly.
I agree with the last peson, this video was touching. Great work and look forward to more videos. Oh, and yes, please go back. There's just something magical about your voice. Beautiful.
I enjoyed watching your video of this beautiful historic cemetery with pretty music to take us through...I always loved visiting old cemeteries...seeing the old headstones...history
I'm not the kind that gets chocked up easily, but this video chocked me up a bit. Great video and yes please go back and do the other folks. Thank you again, this was touching.
Amazing first woman killed by Indian buried in this cemetery Historical Cemetery thank you for showing us the place and sharing us about this oldest Cemetery
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy Sidestep Adventures, who shared historical Graves that have been forgotten. Some of the historians are descendants. How the family stories are passed down from generation to generation. The Usters Scots were amazing people. Came from Northern Ireland. Presbyterians. Many were indenture servants. 😊
If you get a chance, Townsend and Son, who does living history, shared a video about Maggie Delaney. The woman who portrays the indented servant read historical court cases. She is a creative writer from West Virginia. She wrote and stars in the one hour play, taking 3 court cases. So, many came to the colonies because of the English Civil War. Anglican Church vs. Presbyterians. Jim Dowson of KTI is a Scot-Irish who lives in Northern Ireland and shares so much about our ancestors. A lot of work goes into this type of research.
Nice video, I'm familiar with the area but didn't know the history. Another good cemetery for Revolutionary War soldiers (and still actively burying) is the Old Greenwich Church in Greenwich Twp (just outside P'burg, near Stewartsville - which also has several old places worth visiting).
Thank you for watching. I’m not really sure. The historical society might know as they are still doing work there. I am going back soon and when I do, I’ll try to find out. 🤗
@@dm607 We went back today and tried to look. The latest burial I seen was, I believe, 1936. I will try to call the historical society and find out, where that persons stone is as we couldn’t find it.
@@sonplusone7059 I only found you today. Your voice is very soothing. I love reading all the old stones and learning the history behind some of them. Watching from Australia. Cheers, Deb of Oz.
@@daffydaggers3156 , You are correct. The "walking purchase" is noted on the headstone. What is very interesting is the man who made the deal, but cheated the Indians, was one of the Scots-Irish. His name was, I believe, Logan. If you are ever in the town of Lurgan, County Armagh on the island of Ireland that is where he came from. If you want to know how the Indians were cheated, in this case, you may be able to look it up. If not I can explain how it was done.
I got a right to be here. Born here just like they were born here. If I don't have a right to be here...which country do I have the right to live. In other words, your arguement is nonsensical.
One of my ancestors killed 8 Native Americans with his bare hands. He ended up being arrested and found guilty of murder and got the death penalty. It was in 1928! LOL.
I doubt it was your "ancestor" in 1928. You probably are talking about your great-grandfather being a murderer 😒 it was very common for Native people to be murdered by white people over money or land. The film Killers of the Flower Moon directed by Martin Scorsese is going to be released soon. That was when the Osage Tribe were forced from their land and moved to Oklahoma and bought land from the financial compensation from the govt. The land happened to have oil under it. So many white people were marrying and/or murdering Osage people for the headrights to the oil money that it led to the formation of the FBI.
Yeah we say what we say and don't care how we say yeah we true crime fans all day long we see the same stories over and over yeah we understand not too many viewers never heard some stories but if you a true crime you tubers you get off your butt and dig some stories that never been told so hell yeah we shall push sub button for this channel
You know how stupid you sound are you the world police and going to go country to country and say who owns the land how far our you going to go back to say who the owner is huh
Very probable. This cemetery is very old and was restored. They did a fantastic job but I’m sure some history and people are still unaccounted for. I am so grateful that it was found and that the kindness of a group of people helped to keep history alive. Some people did this with their own money. Thank you so much for your support we appreciate it 🤗

It's nice to see a cemetary so well taken care of and the veterans remembered. 🇺🇲
It definitely is. I see so many in disarray that I was considering cremation instead of burial. 🤗 thanks for supporting us

There’s a sigh saying from dust till dawn, but I’d love to go there at night too. Maybe? 🤗
A beautiful cemetery and great video. I was surprised to see names from my own very Southern family: King, Kerr.

You know this is stolen land....this land belongs to the Native American Indians...
No argument from us. Thank you for watching we appreciate it 🤗
Yes, that is very true. I'm so sorry things transpired so horribly. It was out of fear and ignorance that your ancestors were treated horribly.
You know how stupid you sound are you the world police and going to go country to country and say who owns the land how far our you going to go back to say who the owner is huh
Those native Americans stole the land from prior inhabitants. Americans may yet lose the land to others.
I'm enrolled with the Apache tribe of Oklahoma. Our mentality of this is we learn from our mistakes and we move forward
