i live there, the downtown/old area is very cool but it is everyday stuff for us. the shining part of this city is how well it is maintained, and the peaceful lifestyle we live here. most people live in suburbia with big houses and front yards. im pretty sure we live the "american dream" more than americans. the city is starting to look more like montreal with the new downtown area getting taller. i would recommend living here, if you're ready to pay half your salary in taxes.
Thank you! for this explanation, I agree with you when we live in the city we are less interested and we no longer notice the beauty. With all the taxes to pay I understand that some people wanted to go elsewhere. However Quebec is a wonderful city to visit 🙂

This is only the "old" Quebec, le Vieux-Québec. Please visit Limoilou and Charlesbourg, the downtown area!
Are the people in Quebec friendly I heard that unless you speak French they are not willing to help 🤔
People in Quebec are generally friendly and willing to help and If you go to more touristic place they are always informations center. However, a challenge can be that some people may not speak English fluently or feel confident enough to use it.
