Arvin, I thought you would share with us the importance of cooking our meals. I know there are a lot of companies that deliver meals. But, how hard is it to look up a recipe, buy the ingredients from your supermarket yourself. We are becoming a lazy society. I was taught as a little girl the enjoyment of cooking is going to the market picking out the ingredients by look, touch, and smell. Then I would come home and cook with my husband, family member, or friend. And for those of us who are elderly and have a special needs adult at home. Online ordering from your neighborhood market is so simple these days, for pickup or delivery. I feel we all need to support our Community markets and stores. That’s my opinion.
I am gagging at the thought that somewhere in the world, there is an integrated toilet in a kitchen. WTH?!! ps, the arranged cookies are ridiculous. Who has time for this?
Talk about unsanitary, I also cringe when I see this in people that convert busses or vans into tiny homes….there’s a phrase “you don’t sh*% where you eat” for a reason
The notes about the pendants in the kitchen--- SO TRUE!! I have a client that has a huge kitchen with 3 tiny lantern style pendants and it is time that they come down. Going to replace those stat with some of your rec's. Thank you so much for the clarity and great tips!
We have the 3 pendant problem (lol) - they came with our house and I want them gone. Do I just cap the middle one when I put in a couple of bigger fixtures?
@@heatherw5632Sometimes when you cap the center one the other two are not equal distance from each other. 26-30 inches is the ideal distance between the pendants. Allow 12 inches from the edge of the island to the light fixture. To do it right, I would hire an electrician and handyman for the drywall touch up. First, have the light you have in mind to show the electrician, then have an electrician move the power to where it needs to be, then have the handyman fill in the drywall holes, patch, and paint. It can add up in costs but it is very much worth it in the end. Hope this helps!
No way, no how, could I live with cookies on the counter! I would eat a couple every time I pass by. My husband asked who I was listening to, and he said you sound really smart about design. That is a HUGE compliment for you!

It’s totally when it’s absolutely everywhere that I don’t like it.
Bingo on the brass everything!! Your analogy of brass to gold jewelry is so true. Brass was so overdone in the 70s which is why some of us still shutter when we see brass knobs

I feel like the lantern is one of the very few kitchen pendants that are easy to clean which is why a lot of people choose them… and they go with a vast array of design styles including transitional
Large kitchen pendants… I like the smaller ones because I don’t WANT to notice the fixtures. I like light that comes out of no where. Lamps and fixtures are actually something I dislike. I never find anything I like unless it’s very traditional like Tiffany etc. also, the large pendants bring the height of the ceiling down, I feel like. I don’t want the added horizontal line created by the bottom of the pendants lol they feel like they belong outside if they’re huge. Lol but its just my opinion. Lol lighting fixtures are annoying to me in general lol Also, as A mega cook at home… you need lighting at your different stations. They focused the light right there because that’s where they do a lot of their chopping and stuff (right next to the sink) and there’s a huge difference between what something looks like from way way way far away and what it actually feels like inside the space. Those lights are situated perfectly for someone working in the space. Lol ❤️
@@EH23831 we have them too. I do have a couple lamps but they’re banker task lights and a Tiffany lamp. They’re Big statement bold pieces. That’s me though.

Arvin,Darlin’ I bought three polypropylene rugs for my porches and a rental room. They are excellent because you can hose them down and they just drain off the water. So easy to clean . I think they would be great in a family kitchen with kids and pets. Wayfair has a large assortment of choices. And the customer service is the best. One that I bought for my front porch just wasn’t right. No problem. I re wrapped it sent it back and received another one in a few days. It’s perfect.

Arvin, lol re: the brass kitchen! With that striped awning over the INSIDE of the window, why not add the candy jars and hey, maybe a popcorn machine? I can't.
I love this. What kind of pendent would you hang over the island if you only have one spot to do a hanging pendant? I didn’t have them install two and I’ve been kicking myself ever since.
New to this channel but loving all of the tips! 2 weeks before I become a home owner for the first time and i am studyingggg all of these tips! Where does interior design stand on a lemon vase display?! Like not a jar or cookies but a cute cylinder type vase with fresh lemons in or something for a colour pop? I like mostly glass, black, grey and silver tones, sharp edges and a modern minimal design - it’s hard to explain without knowing all the terms!
I loved this "Stop Doing This" series! They are hilarious! I also never understood the idea of organized food display - even worse is the FAUX food displays!! They even make them smell like real! UGH! And the toilet in the kitchen?! Hygiene?!
Lol me too love him and his laugh! Not my nature but I’d become the petty dirt storyteller and tell ENTIRE neighborhood‘don’t ever eat her food ewwww gross toilet in the kitchen!’ 😝😝😝😎
I love your videos!! I sooo have one of those rugs and it can only be spot cleaned 😭 I found it at Home Goods and it was love at first sight. I so needed to hear you say "there will be spills" because it drives me crazy 😆
White kitchens with huge pendant lanterns. It’s everywhere! Two of my friends just built and did this. However I did the opposite and I ended up doing the three small pendants that you don’t like on a 12ft island. I have the Kelly Wearstler brass and alabaster ones and I love them! I wanted more of a modern look Without it being over bearing. I paired it with the Kelly Wearstler Rosseau fixture that is over my table. If I would’ve done bigger pendants over the island it definitely would’ve looked horrendous and gaudy.
I agree with you, I went with 3 smaller pendants as well. I suppose it's personal preference because I think larger ones are distracting and I don't really want the lights to be the focal point of my kitchen.
3 questions: what constitutes a "Large" kitchen- that needs bigger fixtures? And how do you feel about using small pendants in kitchens where there is a line of sight between the kitchen and the living room that you don't want to disrupt? And three, how do you address a kitchen that has a centered island. but also has a peninsula dividing the kitchen from the LR?(Builder put very boring tuscan pendants over peninsula)
Thank you for toning me down a bit with the brass, and but i just don't think I could live with carpet stains. I've been eyeing the washable rugs. I don't know how much longer I can resist 🥴
I love watching these series it’s hilarious your laugh is contagious some things I have found you don’t like in my home but hey who cares like you said it’s just an opinion and I love it thanks for the laugh have a great weekend

Hi, Arvin, i dont have ANY of those "Stop doing..............to your kitchen" 🤭🤭🤭. I keep my kitchen simple and with things that i REALLY need. Tyvm for the video. "PEACE & LOVE".✌ Note: i love your laughing, makes me laugh.😁🤭
You are lovely. Thank you for your wonderful ideas and reminders that your videos aren’t judgments. I’ve unsubscribed from my other decor advice peeps and now I’m with you only. You’re warm, funny, and wise - a beautiful combination.
When you said "boring foods" I knew the ad is coming hahahaha
And we Stan a sponsored video!!!!!
Same, but when I saw it was healthy, organic, REAL food, I was SO happy! Food allergies here, so it’s nice not to see ads for junk food and crap!
I am so drawn to your infectious giggle and laugh!!! Love it!
I was impressed to see you cooking! You go Arvin!!! Meal looked delicious chef's kiss
“Mmhuhaha” love your laugh. Great video and great delivery. I’m new to your channel and enjoying your content thus far.
Honestly you deserve a million subscribers. Your content is so good
I feel like the lantern is one of the very few kitchen pendants that are easy to clean which is why a lot of people choose them… and they go with a vast array of design styles including transitional
Lol lighting fixtures are annoying to me in general lol
Also, as A mega cook at home… you need lighting at your different stations. They focused the light right there because that’s where they do a lot of their chopping and stuff (right next to the sink) and there’s a huge difference between what something looks like from way way way far away and what it actually feels like inside the space. Those lights are situated perfectly for someone working in the space. Lol ❤️
That’s where you need just down lights (recessed into the ceiling) we have them everywhere in our house..
@@EH23831 we have them too. I do have a couple lamps but they’re banker task lights and a Tiffany lamp. They’re Big statement bold pieces. That’s me though.
I love your videos, it's educational and presents in a very interesting way....keep doing your great work.
Ms. Hoodie Hoodie Whoooo needs to sit her super opinionated tail down!!
BYE girl….Arvin is speaking….
WE are listening!!! 🤣❤️
Love it! Your "negatives" are always upbeat and fun and not shaming anyone. Could you add a video about rugs in the kitchen? We know you are the Rug Master! Should it be runners? A big rug? Nothing I do in there ever looks right. Please give some dos and don'ts for kitchen rugs. 🙏
😂😂😂 Not transition from the talk of toilets in the kitchen to aromatherapy 😂😂😂 I think real tears came out my eyes!!
Hello, I only come to your channel to laugh and have fun because you always make me laugh. But, I decorate with antiques, inheritances and my family memories.
Currently building a house and I’m glad I stumbled upon your channel. I’ve been shopping for decors, furnitures, and color schemes and your channel gave me great inspirations! Definitely helped with figuring out what I want. I just have to fight my husband now cause his taste is so tacky lol. Thanks for the advices and the laughs!
That last tip brought on tears of joy in my heart. You are golden. ❤️
this is the first time i ever actually sat through a sponsored section of a video, because i was looking RIGHT past the food you were showing and stared at your GORGEOUS countertops the whole time! ugh that marble, i'm OBSESSED!
I'm hooked, you make me laugh so much. I agree on most of your tips. Thanks for your efforts, time and allll the laughs .
I looooooooove this video!!!!!!
and all your videos as well. You are so much fun. I respect all your suggestions. You are just amazing!!! Love from New York City! 🥰
Thank you. Ditto to comments. My faves are your laugh, the horn, but the scream is it! I think you are great!
Love your white linen jacket. Wish you had mentioned something about it. Maybe next time 😘
Arvin,Darlin’ I bought three polypropylene rugs for my porches and a rental room.
This series always gives me the laughs! Him just throwing shots at everyone lol I'm over my cookie jar phase 2 years ago but I still cringed LMAO I won't do the tiny pendants again. 🤣🤣🤣
the best part of your videos is the energy you serve the videos with. 🔥
The toilet integrated....oh my gosh....!
I literally DIED 💀 all the time with the scream 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you are the greatest!!!! Lmaooo "doll house furniture"
hahaha so glad you liked the video!!!
I just love your videos. You would probably cringe at my decor (almost everything is from dead relatives). But you really brighten my day and I have gotten some really good tips.
"Almost everything is from dead relatives" 😂😂😂 so cute.
Arvin, We remodeled our home and I am now picking out new light fixtures! I AGREE! Laterns are just a trend! No lanterns here! Loved the video.
Changing things up, always a winner, and exciting👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I have found several pictures online of toilets in strange places: up on a pedestal, in a dining room, in the kitchen - along with a shower! - and in the bedroom.
My Ruggable Rugs don't look or feel like plastic. They are beautiful!
Yeah with a 4 year old, my Ruggable is soo necessary! One day I will upgrade but I love it.. so soft and pretty…
Honey I’m here for it!!!! Thank you Arvin! I’ve sooooo much enjoyed watching you & your office couch evolution. Thank you for blessing us with such incredible content!!!! Love you
you can always add a live, laugh, love wall art or sticker to your home!! it looks so cute & really elevates your home!
Oh god. This is a joke yeah ?
NO!!! Lol
Everyone under the sun has that list on their wall. Worst part is that 99.99999% of those people are the most unhappy, bitchy, inpatient people on the planet. hahaha 🤣
@@thebewitchinghour831 babe it was a JOKE y'all be so dumb
Arvin, lol re: the brass kitchen! With that striped awning over the INSIDE of the window, why not add the candy jars and hey, maybe a popcorn machine? I can't.
The "gather" sign, lol!
I love this. What kind of pendent would you hang over the island if you only have one spot to do a hanging pendant? I didn’t have them install two and I’ve been kicking myself ever since.
my 2 year old likes to watch your videos with me. She will copy your hand gestures & start singing the baby shark song 😂
Omg they have faux food displays??? Why??
@@Intuition_malnutrition Exactly!
I love your videos!! I sooo have one of those rugs and it can only be spot cleaned 😭 I found it at Home Goods and it was love at first sight. I so needed to hear you say "there will be spills" because it drives me crazy 😆
Seeing you sprinkle the spice on the pan from that distance made me realize , you reelally dont cook🤣
You're just simply the best. Period. No more talk.
LOVE UR VIDEOS!! I was wondering if the kitchen with a toilet conversion was maybe part of a van build?? Hahah! Much love!!! ❤️
Haha you crack me up
TF upppp!!! 😭😭😭
Living for the Arvin giggle😂
Thank you for toning me down a bit with the brass, and but i just don't think I could live with carpet stains. I've been eyeing the washable rugs. I don't know how much longer I can resist 🥴
And no faux fruit! Yuk. By some real damn fruit! 🤣🤣
Totally agree about not eating the same boring foods. I am so stuck in this, but at least I do super healthy.
I love watching these series it’s hilarious your laugh is contagious some things I have found you don’t like in my home but hey who cares like you said it’s just an opinion and I love it thanks for the laugh have a great weekend
Andrew has massive editing skills! I agree though with all you said. Little things like that elevate your space to look expensive rather than box store.
