sure but one of the main reasons we play in the 41212 in the first place is our lack of wingers. we have hazard (injured) and knauff. the rest seem to have their strengths more centrally. even if everyone is fit I'm afraid we lack quality on the wings to make a 4231 or 433 permanently our primary and strongest formation
My 5 takeaways. 1 passlack has to go 2 malen is not a great signing, said it from the start 3 we need wingers, again bad transfer window because our best player on the wing left and was not replaced 4 akanji is great, he and hummels are a great duo 5 haaland in a 2 strikes system doesn’t work at alll.
we just cant defend as a team, same as previous years, every time the ball is coming to our penalty area im getting a heart attack, cause i know we cant defend it with confidence. Look at all this years how many goals we are conceding, no top team is getting so much goals every year, only our team. and ps: We are the most harmless team at corners.
My 5 takeaways .)Play can as our rb rather than pasalak .) Rose need to change his formation .) We need wingers ASAP...there was not a single cross .)malen was poor...he need to step up .)we need to take advantage from set pieces
this. its matchday 2. we had a fraction of our defense available for the first games. when our starters are all healthy again, you still got to give them the next couple of weeks to build chemistry under rose‘s system. the first weeks with terzic were similar
I would be happy if we had earn 1 point in today's game because dropping 3 points in these types of games would make our position in worst and we will regret in the end of season😪
Tough loss to take, Josh but I am predicting that Rose cannot stay with us for long but I do know that we need Terzic back into the team where Erl and the boys won the DFB Pokal back at Berlin even made sure that Piszczek got a happy ending to his time in BVB since the 09 Jahre.
do you remember the first weeks with edin as head coach. if i recall correctly mats stood in front of the tv cameras explaining how it takes time to change systems and approach under a new coach & people should be more patient
As a die hard Dortmund fan for the past 10 years I’ve seen it all we were such a force in Europe. 2 Bundesliga titles a champions league final appearance a manager that the players were motivated to play for. After 2014 things have never been the same, my frustrations have boiled over the merry go round of managers, the consistent selling of world class players. These things haven’t changed and we will be in the same spot year after year as we have been the past 6/7 years. I understand developing players but if we never keep players we will never consistently keep up with the big clubs and always be known as a selling club.
players were so motivated to play for klopp that they left puttin on shirts for real madrid (nuri sahin), bayern (götze, lewandowski) or united (kagawa). sometimes nostalgia kicks in and we tend to romanticize the past. it is what it is, that roster has serious talent, give rose some time
@@wa5t3dy0uth8 100% I will back this club forever and of course Marco Rose is a quality manager and I believe in him. It just gets frustrating when you see the same thing happen every single year. You want to see changes and our club grow.
I agree, but we can’t compete with the money of the prem. it’s sad but if this club doesn’t make a profit we wil get in big trouble. If a club like city has debt their owner just pays it of. So I don’t blame the club for selling the players. We just can’t compete financially. Bayern has succes every season. So they can afford the high wages.
@@maxtenvergert the financial power bayern has has been build over decades (including buying your direct opponents best players and pushin the media to talk your opponents down… since the 70s). so we are not able to turn the tables financially with 2 or 3 good seasons. if götze and lewandowski would not have left the club the dynasty could have been build during that era. it did not happen, money talks. the premier league is able to hand out the biggest wages, yes. but in giving the power to billionaires and tv networks english football did sell its soul (way before any super league talks). no more beer in the stadiums, no more stands just seats, ticket prices only affordable for mid & upper class people, clubs with investors pushing traditional long-time football clubs into relegating to 2nd and 3rd divisions. so they are paying their price for this financial strenght. i would never give up dortmund‘s football culture just to be able to hand out a couple mill more in wages. michael zorc‘s overall transfer strategy is the only way to keep up and maybe compete with the biggest clubs IN THE LONG RUN. if you have excellent scouting and development, buy low, sell high and your bank account will some day be big enough to keep players like sancho and haaland in the westfalenstadion. the pandemic was not benefitial to this strategy of course overall, UEFA.needs a better way to establish REAL financial fairplay. the system as it is now just seems to be a rough guideline with little to no consequences
I hope Rose changes the formation. Same thing that happened with Bosz. We won some games really high but then our opponents realized what they had to do to beat us and we started to lose every game because Bosz changed nothing.
even if Rose wanted to be stubborn and stick with the 41212 diamond shape team. Dahoud CANNOT be our number 6. PERIOD. Witsel needs to be there ASAP. also we need an RB for God's sake !!
worst take to have Witsel over Dahoud in that formation. But as soon as the wingers and WBs are in training for several weeks we'll train the 4231/433, 3atb variations that suit these matches better. Diamond is good vs Frankfurt, Gladbach, Leverkusen (3atb high pressing). Not many more
@@gameplaytv1374 I agree with you, 422 diamond is not my cup of tea unless you got a world class consistent fullbacks, but I still think Dahoud should be further up the pitch as no. 8
According to statistics (player ratings) Gio & Bellingham were the best with Gio taking the lead... from watching it Bellingham had a few more dangerous moments and I'd give him the edge but Gio wasnt bad. Haaland was definitely terrible, and I agree formation isn't working; nor is the injured backline! gotta rebound!
It is because of bellingham that we took the second goal because he is not collective and keeps the ball too much, why nobody talks about him? He must be the most overrated player at the moment ! Crazy.
Im getting PTSD from last 2 seasons.... The whole team was trash today. and wth was Malen doing ik im being harsh but he's so poor we could've rather played Brandt or Moukoko or even Reinier he can atleast have some good touches like he did in his 6 mins in the supercup. This match gave me serious Favre vibes... No one to string together a few passes

100% agree with this too. Bellingham is all action and runs about all over the place, but he neither helps is defend nor helps us control the midfield. He is quick to abandon his position. He is a kid, who is far from good and actually hinders the team.
The 41212 has gotta go
1000%
Not in all matches
We need wingers, haaland needs wingers. And malen is shit in a 2 striker system

Ppl doubting Rose in the comments need to chill. Also, Meunier and Guierro are definitely good enough wing backs for the system

hopefully we get a winger and a rb or cb
I think Rose went with a 4-3-3 in the DFB Pokal…could have utilized that formation.

Witsel would be even worse than Dahoud. We should play 2 central midfielders both capable of playing the ball.

Like I said Dortmund really struggle cuz they want to score in a fancy way mHm Malen
Akanji was brilliant
Should have switched to a 4231 because the play through the middle was not working.
Haaland always gets carried away when we are losing. That's not really good for his development and the club

Our team only has gotten worse since last season. No surprise
Do y'all guys think we should've signed a natural winger like madueke rather than malen ?
No
I had the peter boch vibes today
Dahoud and brandt will never be constant!!! They are not good enough for the starting 11, we need better midfielders for our build up 😰
How was anything on brandt. He was subbed in and looked better than gio. honestly all of the subs looked better than who they were replacing.
Shocking
We gotta change our formation...its getting two crowded in the middle
4231 is go to formation
i almost lost my mind today bro, f&@! this bro this formation blows
The own goal itself is a fluke and Dortmund got it out of no where
Lol
Was expecting too much🤧🤧🤦
do we trust Passlack as a starting fullback on a team which can contend for trophies..? Or no
NO DEFENSIVE DISCIPLINE ! ! ! ! !

the middle was clogged ALLLL THE TIME
Dahoud is best as an 8, not a 6

Overreaction much? He played like shit and he had a few chances and he missed him. He’s also to blame.
