- The Chicago Bears could be bringing in 3x Super Bowl TE Blake Bell on a 1-year contract to fill in their TE3 need.
Shane Waldron runs a very TE friendly offense and needs to have at least 3 guys on the roster at all times that can block, run, and catch.
Blake Bell is a big bodied TE that will help Caleb Williams have a flowing offense, along with a big bodied target and strong blocker.

Don't know the Bears intentions for '25 (Not at all worried because Ryan Poles knows what he's doing).
But I wouldn't object to a 2 year deal with Bell.
Having that trio of TEs is like bringing down and suiting up three of the columns off the Soldier Field walls.

2. Marcedes Lewis
3. Jesper Horsted
4. Trevon Wesco
Bell is the only 1 of those 4 who has never played for Bears.
@@barryturner2902 If you sawed me in half and counted the rings, that would give you an idea of the generation I'm from.
I remember a TE the Bears had. His name was Jim Thornton. He had AA cannons for arms and he wore a tinted visor. Jim McMahon nick-named him "Robocop".
There was another great player they had during the Jim Harbaugh years. Although he was an FB, Brad Muster was built like a TE. He was an excellent blocker and he had great hands. He was always gonna hurt somebody bad in YAC.
Then there was the most awesome standout the Bears ever had at TE --- Greg Olsen. Whenever he got the ball everyone jumped out of their seats.
In this 21st century it's Cole Kmet. This guy is a 6'6" bruising snowplow. He's the whole package.

Our Bears already have 5 tight ends on our team. Kmet, Everett, Stephen Carlson, Tommy Sweeney who they signed yesterday and Brendan Bates

only Kmet & Everett are likely to make Bears 53-man roster. also, new OC Shane Waldron prefers a 4th TE rather than a FB, so Khari Blasingame will likely get cut. Poles needs to sign 2 more proven veteran TE's, likely Bell + Marcedes Lewis.

Compare this beefed-up O-line to what we've been stuck with for the past 3 years.
Those 5 starters should never have been called Chicago Bears.
They should've been called The Chicago Matadors.
'Cause every time the ball was hiked they stood up waving red capes and said :
"¡Ole!"
--- while the defense stampeded Justin Fields.

@@J-Bo-hr9zp Play calling was, by far, the most culpable in everything that went wrong.
But honestly? Some of the "talent" was suspect as well. On other teams some of those guys ( not all ) would have been third string at best.
There's never a good excuse to see five O-linemen standing upright looking lost after the play is blown dead while 4 300 lbs D-linemen are getting off their QB one at a time.
Justin Fields was a rookie in that Cincinnati game. 9 sacks? Not to mention the pressures and hits he was taking. The guy was shell-shocked. That's why he couldn't make clear-headed decisions.
And there the O-linemen were, standing around after each hit he took.
What the Bears did next left my head spinning.
They let David Montgomery go?!!
1. Bad play calling
2. An anemic O-line
3. And no quality RB to take the heat off the QB
[Respect, though. I hope I don't sound like I'm arguing. That's not my intention at all. The problems in today's world are worse because too many illiterate idiots have access to social media. Used to be we could have strong personal opinions but we were able to leave it at that, right?]
So that was my opinion of the past three years. That's what I felt like I was seeing.
